So I installed mdeejay Froyo 2.3, and use Hastarin R8.2. For some reasons I don't have google maps and I can't install it from the market. It kept saying errow. I deleted the maps file in the system, still no luck. Anyone knows how to fix this?

Why would you post this question here instead of in the mdj forum where you got the build?

HI
My HTC Legend have Google maps 3.4 factory intalled,
Anyone have problem with installing Google Maps 4.1 on Legend? cant find in Android Market, tried from google's site unsuccessfully .
Sorry for bad English
i had no problems installing the update to 4.1
The Legend is experiencing problems with some apps. The problem seems to be that the Legend model is not know yet by some localized Markets.
In the Netherlands apps like Layar, and Hyves can;t be found on the market or installed manually, Google Earth doesn't boot up. And in your case updates aren;t successful.
The problem is know by google and HTC and is being worked on. The reason seems to be that the Legend isn;t available everywhere till April.
I'm using Legend in English language and so far no problems with apps at all. Update to the Google Maps 4.1 was smooth as expected.

No problem here in Italy. As soon as I went in Android market, in download section I found the mark "upgrade available" for google maps.
It's running fine; I believe (as somebody else has already wrote) the market is depending by the county. Probably yr country is in queue to get the update

Earth doesnt boot, anyone manages otherwise?
Google maps 4.1 installed from the marketplace without a hitch. I'm in France.

Can we do this yet, or is it limited to Android 2.2 when we get it... I ask because the Aria does have rather limited internal memory, outside the use for a SDcard.

No we can't because we don't have a kernel to support it yet. As soon as we do, I'll add it to the liberated rom. That is, if we don't find our way to FroYo rom in the meantime.
well lets hope that Att and HTC get 2.2 out fast. Or if you or someone else can port the cyanogen mod from the MT3GS to the Aria
apps installer
there's an app called 'apps installer'..but i've had issue with it crashing..not sure why..

Has anyone tried adding the old method of Apps2SD to the rom? You don't need a kernel for that.
Here's a guide I built to add the old Apps2SD to a rom...doesn't matter which Apps2SD.

I haven't tried that method yet, and not sure if anyone else has, but I will give it a try sometime today. Thanks for that.

I would like to get FroYo soon. Idc if it has sense or not.
yeah i would rather install it to SD too
Being that Android is based on linux, I don't wee why programs can't be moved to the sd card and have a symbolic link where the app normally would install. It would work in desktop linux, so why not Android?
Well you can but Google only added that feature in 2.2, I'm not sure about the idea behind it.

Google added that feature in 2.2, but there has been workarounds using the Linux method (symlinks) since Android 1.0 via CyanogenMod.
I know my Darktremor Apps2SD uses this method of redirecting Android via symlinks to an EXT partition on the SD card. Even the dalvik cache can be redirected if desired.
I know that CyanogenMod has an Apps2SD or a way to launch it via /system/bin/sysinit (at least it does in the CDMA Hero). If anyone is interested in trying it, here's the link to 2.7.5 final:
http://www.darktremor.info/files/a2sd/dtapps2sd-2.7.5-final-adv-signed.zip
If anyone tries it, let me know the results. Thanks.

Hello, I tried different builds of Froyo (dan1j3l's with sense and without, and Parad0xua's). I can download the app very well, but when installing I got errors, this occurs only with large apps like Neocore on android market. I would like to know if I'm the only one having this problem. And is there a fix ? Thanks.
N.B. : the problem doesn't occur with eclair build, like darkstone's desire v5 .

I have the exact same problem and cannot install Skymaps but I can download the app without any problem.
So this is my first thread and I'm not really sure if this is the right place to post this topic.
Basically the title says it all.
FYI:
running darkstone's FroyoStone v2
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747492
unmounting the SD card before attempting to install
un-installing Google Maps 4.4 before attempting to install using Titanium Backup and still no luck
What I'd like to know is if there is a work-around and if not at least a reason why it's unable to install.
I second this
I also have this problem and just wanted to ring in, I suppose we could just try a different build.

Do you know if it's just FroyoStone related though, or just any hd2 android build
Conflikt Icey,
If you had read the thread or at least did a search for maps in Darkstone's ROM thread you would have found this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8096500&postcount=3117
It worked for anyone that tested it, so I suppose it will work for you too...
I had problems installing on HyperDroid 1.2 and, at some point in time, it installed behind my back.

Tried it, didn't work for me. The directory structure was different to that.
Anyone got any further suggestions? I can't be the only one with this problem surely as I am using FroyoStone V2 which seems to be pretty popular.
I couldn't install it with HyperDroid 1.2 but now with Bangsters 1.3 it worked without a problem. You just have to do the installation manually.

Yeah I just tried Bangsters build too and it installed without any issues. So I guess it's build related

Just go to the market, select Maps and then update. It's relatively straight-forward

I was wondering if anyone else is having problems installing the Google Music app. Every time I try and install it I get an error
Code:
Installation Error
Package file was not signed correctly.
The app is working on my CyanogenMod Tablet. Does the Music app require 2.3?
That's odd, it works fine for me. I am running Bionix 1.3.1.
I assume you are getting it from the market? No issues here.
And no, it was working on my 2.2 Trigger rom just fine.

Yes you are correct. I'm trying to install from the market. I've been having this same problem for days. </3
If you have an existing copy of the leaked app from earlier, uninstall it first then install the one from the market.

I have no such leaks or previous builds..
Didn't have any trouble installing it on Trigger 3.1. Just waiting for the cloud invite from Google
