Hi Guys,
i've followed the instructions and successfully upgraded to JPO (ive rooted it if that makes a diff). However, I am now having a problem synching from the backup i made prior to updating my phone.
I don't mind so much the contacts... but the photos... some of these are very sentimental to me. I'm using the latest version of kies (1.5.3) on windows 7.
Does anybody have any advice or seen similar issues? Alternativey does anybody know any way I can open the .sbu files that kies makes when it does backups so i could pull the photos out of that?
Thanks
tried an older version of kies.... same problem.... anybody any suggestions ?
Okay... i found the problem.
I had the OCLF v2.2 installed... if you remove this lag fix and then try and synch with kies... bingo no probs.
I'm going to check to see if this is a known issue/bug and let the developer know.
Thanks.

Is anyone else noticing this? After eventually getting the Sprite backup and restore to work, activesync doesn't recognise my xdaII, and asks me to set up a new partnership. I was rather hoping to avoid all this sort of thing
Haven't run into that, and I've done a few restores. Are you using the latest version? Have you turned off any of the options in the backup software?
I've experienced what you experienced. I had to hard reset cause my xda2 won't sinc with my pc. I used the "exe" backup. I don't know if the normal backup will do fine.
Hope someone can help us.
I use the exe backup option without problem. I use version. V 3.0.0 Build 1517 but just checked their web and version 3.0.1 is available for download
Bully, Carlos,
What are your ROM versions? Mine is ROM ver 1.66WWE. It may be the reason for the bug.
That could be, I'm on 1.72. I'm using Sprite Backup version 3.0.1. I had also done this successfully on my XDA I with Sprite 2.x.
Aside from this problem, another one! After a full backup, sprite backup's soft reset seems to trigger a harrd reset. Luckily it happens right after ive backed up everything, but still a little annoying. Anyone had this?
Never heard of that. Do daily backups and it always just does a soft reset. Are you on the latest version?

I've been using Sprite V3 since before it was released (beta tester) and never experienced this, I do daily scheduled self-extracting (.exe) backups and they always restore fine.
Are you using the latest build of ActiveSync? It could be that rather than Sprite.
Tip: I find it safer to hard reset the device before restoring a backup. Ok, so it can take a couple of minutes longer and you have to reset the clock, but it causes less locked file problems.
Blimey! It's stopped doing it! I think we can probably put it down to operator error.

Nah, it's the same as when the video plays up... damned this works fine when the engineer looks at it!
Glad we could... er... help?
It's crashed through several rom updates and after a wipe at some point. I removed the com.android.browser.apk and reinstalled it and it still crashes.
What else can I do to try and fix it?

Load a new rom on your card, wipe, and update and see if that fixes your problem.
Well, that's a last resort right now.
I'm sure the problem comes from me restoring the browser setting from the app Backup for Root Users.
If someone could tell me where the browser settings are stored, I could try deleting them and seeing if that helps.
Check out the lasts posts from the soulife rogers remix thread... there is a few people with that same issue... link is in my sig.
Today after I flashed the latest JPX Docrom, I wanted to visit the Market. Suddenly appeared to me the following error message: "Warning: Your device may not be compatible with Android Market For more information, contact the manufacturer of this product.". In the Market I have now lost my installed applications displayed and when I search for "documents" I hit only 5 results.
What I've tried:
-Re flashed the Rom
-flashed JM9 and then the standard JPX-
-flashed CyanogenMod
-searched for errors in the build.prop
etc. ......
I really do not know what more can I do? It would be very nice if you could help me.
I'm really sorry for my bad English
Have you wiped cache & dalvik cache after install?
This should be in general...
I wiped the normal and the dalvik cache and made an factory reset.
I have the same problem too
with original JPU, JPX, JPO, JM9, JP6... with all, the problem appears again
I have the same problem!
I tryed JPU clean without any mod/kernel ecc but 2 day ago was all fine..
Someone have this problem? what can we do to resolve?
Please help...
Thanks
This could be another time a problem with google. Like with the download problem.
i had this problem too this morning (i'm not on Doc's rom or anything, just using Supercurio's VooDoo kernel on stock FroYo). I got it fixed after clearing the Market Cache, after that i restarted the Market app, and immediately had the NEW Market layout. Maybe it's worth a shot.
J.
Maybe,
but why someone have this problem and someone no...
i can't understand this absurd situation...
But I´m glad to see that this not only my problem.
got same problem... tried everything, wiping everything lots of different roms.. nothing helps
Try updating to the latest version of market. Not via phone, but either search in the xda or google it & install.

also tried this, will try it again.
Think it's somehow coupled to my google account.
Today i have the same problem. My device mounts the RSJP5 rom. I guess that it is a server issue, or a random google account issue.
Are your IMEIs ok?
Market shows & behaves perfectly for me as of THIS moment.
PS : Its even downloading Ulysse Gizmos update as of the moment.

I meet some people with the correct IMEI and have the same problem with the market
Can some Dev post a hack for these people to STOP market from upgrading itself? Let them stay at a market that works.

I tried to flash many roms, with the newer and the old market version and all times I have the same problem
I did the update this morning, but cannot get to the internet any longer. It says that it is connecting to the router, but I can't get to any websites nor the market.
When I did the update, I had several stock apps frozen using Titanium Backup. Also, I had a modified version of wpa_supplicant installed. I forgot to put the old wpa_supplicant back before I did the upgrade.
Otherwise, everything seems to work fine. The OS said that the upgrade was successful. Could someone post their wpa_supplicant after doing the upgrade and let me see if that is my problem? I'm open to any and all suggestions. I have tried pressing the reset button, but have not done the factory reset. That is going to be a last resort.
Thanks.
Never mind. I rebooted the router and that fixed the problem. Not update related after all.

Glad you found the problem! I was about to mention that I upgraded with the modified wpa_supplicant still in place also, and had no issues. At least root and wpa_supplicant aren't causing any update woes. ;-)
You didn't have any issues leaving apps Frozen? I need to read up on Titanium Backup to see how others are using it and figure out exactly what freezing does. I'm also debating on the function it has to backup to dropbox, but I'm not really sure how much that really benefits me.
This is my first android device and I'm definitely enjoying it.
First off, sorry about the uninspiring title
Now that that's out of the way, here's the problem.
Have got the latest update for the Edge and it was around 70+ mb (version details in the title).
After the update the "Storage" option within "Smart Manager" throws up the error: "Unfortunately, SmartManager Clean SDK has stopped." (Screenshot attached)
This happens every time it is run, even after a fresh reboot. But doesn't happen in case the cache of the app is cleared. But this only helps for one run. By the time the app is run again, same error.
Anyone else facing the same issue? If yes, found any workarounds? Also, how do I get this info to Samsung? Can't find an official forum that I can post this, so that they get it fixed.
Help appreciated in advance :fingers-crossed::highfive:
Ever tried resetting the device? Or wiping cache in recovery?
Working fine over here

Just had a look: NO problems here...
Which font are you using on your S7Edge?
Is your device "rooted"? Have you "disabled" any apps?
@JohnLouise: Mine's not rooted... yet.. Also don't want to reset, which would mean setting up the device from scratch, time consuming, would like to avoid.
I clean the Storage time and again, a habit that I believe is good in the long run. I had done it an hour before the update and it worked without issues. No new apps were installed after that, which would point the fingers squarely at the update being the culprit.
@henklbr: No system apps disabled, although i have disabled all microsoft provided apps (but that shouldn't cause the issue). Also, its the Rosemary font. You can find it in Settings>Display>Font
FYI, I use the small version of the font.
Well, guess I have no other choice but to wait for the next update, or someone who has a solution to this, and hope its fixed, or my phone to go bonkers out of the blue, in which case i'll have to reset.

Wiping cache in samsung recovery mode? U don't need to be rooted on that. Maybe the update causes issues and wiping cache and dalvik will resolve the problem.
I'm having the same problem since the last update, and I'm not rooted either.
Same here. Even after factory reset and clear cache. Now disabled the service, no error notification anymore. but still. It's not usable anymore
any news? im having the same problem here

No problems here.
Rooted and on latest
(Allthough the latest Update, i installed from Fresh (Complete wipe and reinstalled everything)
I thought to myself a 5th dirty update is pushing it abit.
All working fine here:
Same here, although I have non edge version on stock ROM. Nothing helped, so far. Hope next update will fix it.

Same problem here. Haven't resettled or anything
Same Problem here after June update (German T-Mobile branding).
Tried several times wiping Cashe of everything that has something to do with Clean Master SDK, or Smart Manager.
Did not help.
Today, i tried Factory Reset.
Did not help.
Imediately after that... i downloaded the latest Firmware with SamFirm.
Flashed it via ODIN.
Did not help.....
What the actual ****.
This is annoying as hell tbh. Especially, since over time, a lot "trash" sums up >_>
My only Workaround now is, downloading the Cleanmaster App, and delete "trash" with that, and deinstall the app again because it sucks balls and is annoying.

Yes, this is a problem with SD card. I had same problem. Factory reset didn't help.
I tried clean my SD card from old and some corrupted files and now it works just fine.

Late reply but:
i'm on November Patch level right now, and... Clean Master out of the Samsung Smart Manager.... works. everytime.
i never removed my sd card or anything. it just suddenly works ^^
don't ask me why. maybe a firmware issue, and now it's gone.
But i'll reflash with Odin 100% fresh as soon nougat is out!
