I my father bought me the new htc desire HD in taiwan. The keyboard and the phone is being in english. I want to change the language in french. How may i do? I read that i can use the app named localswitch !

I was wondering where I can find a rom with both English and Chinese languages included. Or even an English rom with Chinese viewing and handwriting input support.
Most other phones have the ability to change the system language anytime I want, but the HTC HD2 only come in one language and one language only. So if anyone knows where I can find something like, please do share =)

Dual main language for Windows Mobile phones certainly sounds like a nice idea, haven´t seen this either...
But, there seem to be quite a few custom ROMs offering you English as main language and with Chinese support...
Just search the ROM thread here in the forum, you will find this, this, this, and maybe even this...

I know this is a stupid question..but I am completely new to android....
I am planning to buy a HTC desire for me (after a hard time choosing desire over legend)and htc hero for my younger brother (yup...must be definitely a lot cheaper one)...
I am living in germany and I have no problem using germans but my bro back home doesn't understand a word in germans...
I plan to buy it brand new and without any form of branding from any operator...
Can I change the hero from germans to english completely? All...HTC sense, standard installed apps which come with the handset...
Yes you can... I bought my little Hero from eXpansys last year and it come with English, French, Deutsch and Italiano as default.
Menu > Settings > Language & Text > Here I am unsure what it is in English since I use Swedish (More Locale 2 @ Market rocks) but it's at the top and then you can change it to whatever you like...
HTC actually include more language files into the Hero than is normaly available to the different regions and to get to those you have to download More Locale 2 from the market.

I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to add French to the Droid 2. It only comes with English and Spanish but I use English and French constantly. If I can't use the physical keyboard for French it really sucks for me.
Droid2 comes with French language..
in /etc/supportedlocales.conf you need to add "fr_FR" , simply use "More locale 2", i think that works too..
at least ive seen it enabled..

Thanks for your reply Dexter! I need to give my Droid 2 another go then! Between this and a custom ROM I might get my Droid 2 as usable and snappy as my DInc.

Proud owner of an unlocked Dell Venue Pro 16GB here. I love the look of the Chinese language in Windows Phone 7, and I'd like to give it a try, however the phone only includes English (US), and Mango was supposed to add Asian Language features. Can someone help me activate them?

chinese language display should be enable by default, you shoul be able to see all chinese language text in browswers, chinese input keyboard is under settings-> keyboard, you can pick chinese keyboard.

not really
it only comes with Chinese display and input, but not the GUI display.
but there is a way to do so on wpxap.com
you mean whole sytem in chinese? that only possible when you put a custom rom.
I have the same issue only I want the display in Greek.

There is a list of all the language files on the hacking forums. Find them and install them via the cab updater.
For those who own this cellphone, im looking for a new phone and i found this DVP on newegg for loke $220 unlocked. But my main concern is if can get this phone to display spanish language? or is english only?

If the phone has mango, you can add the Spanish keyboard, region format, system locale, and browser search langauge
base display language will remain unchanged.
