Please don't start opening these types of threads in the Development section. If there were ROMs available, you would see a post for it in this section. We do not need to clog up the forum before we even get started. This should be asked in the general section as it has NOTHING to do with development. Just don't want this forum clogged with posts that are not real ROMs or development and make people (like me) click into forums that are not worth it.
you can report the threads to the mod w the triangle button on the top right so they can move it to the General forum.
At least thats what they had us doing in the G1 forum for a while.

Awesome. I did not know that. I wrote that from the mobile app which does not have that option (maybe a future feature) but will def keep that in mind in the future.

I am EAGERLY awaiting CM6 for Glacier. Sense has some neat features but in general it bugs me. With a clean version of Android plus Cyanogen's customization options this phone will be exactly what I want.
Super stoked over here.

Bumpity bump bump bump. Just trying to keep the development forum clean (even today there has been a couple misplaced threads). Keep the developers happy. If everyone is educated properly the development section will remain clean for upcoming froyo info and roms.
Quick tip: If your starting a thread in development that is a question. It probably doesn't belong there.

Great info. As someone new to the forum that was helpful. I always try to research before posting,(common sense) but I may have ended up asking questions in the development section thinking that would have been a great place to get an answer. I also triple checked what section this post was in so I was sure I wasn't thanking you for the information on what not to post in the Dev section by replying to a post in the dev section

Alright, but this post is a paradox by nature.
It belongs in development to warn would-be posters. If you are posting here anyway, you don't really need it.
It absolutely does not belong in development per order of itself.
But blah, consider this a bump.

So I am one for organization when it comes to the Internet.
And I just thought to create seperate forums, one being for 2.1 roms and the second for 2.2 roms.
This would clear up the forums seeing that they are clustered with both rom types, also it would allow questions, ideas for development, or etc to be discussed.
Any Input?
Once froyo hits, we won't see anymore 2.1 roms. I doubt the mods would take the time to sort the threads out.
What we need is a q&a section for questions like the other phones have. This would clear up slot of ****.

Q/A would be outstanding
And I do use the wiki, and that is a very useful tool, however when looking through the forums it can be confusing at times.
Before flaming me and telling me to post this somewhere else ect ect..... This is devolpment related. I would like to keep this thread clean so only respond if you know what your doing.
Ok this about the themed 2.2.7 market. I'm trying to make this universal and to work on different roms for the epic with out making rom specific themed markets.
I already know its do to the roms and sprint. Sprint uses a carrier generic market having to put there own twist on things. But since we don't have official froyo I know you guys have been tricking the market threw the build.prop to think where a different phone so we have access to all the apps. Is this little tweak what's causing all of us headaches? Our should I be looking somewhere else? Is there a way we can make one themed market universal across the board?

How did I know this was gonna happen. I'm tally quick on telling people this but I feel as this belongs in the devolpment section as I'm trying to devolp a themed market that works across the boards and the problem I'm having involves the roms

I dont think the buid.prop is the problem,but Im going to test your market by tomorrow on my ROM and see what happens,if all goes good Ill let you know,and Ill add it to my ROM.

I don't see why this would be general either, it is about development of an application. Shouldn't be restricted to just roms.

I'm sorry, but this is just dumb. If the development section isn't for the discussion of development by developers what the hell is it for? I'm starting to think this is a bot that just scans for a question mark in the first sentence of a post.
There's more to development then advertising ROMs.
I agree,I dont kno what has gotten into whosdaman,mostly does a good job.But for this question pertaining to development is surely supposed to be in the "development" section....Get your eyes checked whosdaman.

It seems they're pretty active in modding most of the Gapps (including market). There's some good stuff in there, and I known they've been trouble shooting these issues.
..not to mention they have the raddest name on teh interweb.
I recently installed the brand new 6.0 creamed glacier rom, everything is amazing except for one thing. any wallpaper besides the live wallpapers dont work for me /: anyone else experiencing this problem and/or have a solution?

Why not post in that ROM's thread? That way a whole lot of people who are also using that ROM are guaranteed to see it.

I would assume everyone has that problem. But since it's still in beta, I'm sure live wallpapers working is at the bottom of the "to do list" for the ROM.

Because im a new user and cant post.in dev threads till i get 10 posts /; and yea after revisiting the thread i can see that everyones having this problem with the static wallpapers
Lol just keep in mind that Creamed Glacier is still in Beta. There WILL be bugs. If you find a bug, chances are, others have found it too.

I have been using this rom a bit. Since the static wallpaper isn't working I switched to ADW launcher and am just using a live wallpaper since it runs it smoother than Trebuchet. I am sure that it will be fixed in the next update
Probably because the OP directly states to use the Q&A section for queries, since this is a DEV ROM. That ROMs thread is mainly for users who can point out bugs by submitting logcats and other useful info. That's why it was closed once already, because users where getting off topic of development by asking questions like this. This is the perfect place to ask this question....it is the Q&A section.

And for good reason .. That's for the Nexus One not for our device, I've actually been working on porting that one but have had no luck so far...
Edit: Asking that dev for some assistance, will report back.
thanks for clarifying.. the way I read it Any cm9 based rom could run it. Please keep me posted on any progress

That was a unique request by that particular dev because that ROM was in an unusually early stage of development. Normally questions are more than welcome in ROM threads.

No, a simple Google search would have saved the good people of the mytouch 4g at xda the pain of having to see this redundant thread, search and read. READ I cannot stress that enough seeing as how you refer to rooting, and modifying as ”Hacks"

3. there are plenty of ICS ROMs being developed for this phone. built straight from AOKP source, AOSP source, ports, Sense based, MIUI based..
