How can I get my phone back to stock? - G2 and Desire Z General

I'm currently on the Sense Rom but my nandroid backup got erased after I flashed it. Is there anyway to flash the stock rom back?

Couldn't you grab the Stock ROM that is floating around in the Dev section and flash it using ROM Manager?

I flashed the stock rom and went back to complete stock, no root.

I found a topic from when the Vision rom first got loaded. I'm flashing it via Hboot right now so it should work fine.
Question - How come when I flashed the sense rom my phone deleted the nandroid backup I had from when the phone was stock?
Edit: Yeah it worked.

You can download it from HTC developers site.
Maybe next time you can post in an existing thread like the Liberated thread seeing you are running liberated? There are stickies here too with the answer to your question.
Thanks, and I'll make sure to do that next time

you could check the wiki too
You can also download the HTC 2.1 update and install it. You would have the most recent OEM ROM.

[Q] Flashable zip file of the T-Mobile STOCK kernel & ROM?

Need it ASAP! I can't seem to find a flashable zip file of the T-Mobile stock ROM and stock kernel for the 4G.
Thanks a lot!!!
No flashable but use stock nandroid

That doesn't come with the stock kernel. What I really need is the stock T-Mobile kernel.
It even says to make sure you flash the stock kernel first so that's telling me it doesn't come with it. Unless I'm wrong ...does it?

I haven't actually broke it open and checked but I asked him the same question yesterday and he said it was stock.

kernel
Use the link at the top of this post to download a copy of the stock kernel. I dont think this is flashable through clockworks though.... I havent had to revert back yet.

Thanks for the replies guys! Now since I'm at work I need to find the guide to do this all through my phone. The zip file isn't flashable like you said.

Orginal mt4g restore before flashing cm7

I am having issues trying to restore the orginal nandbackup ,but the problem with it is that its not loading and is stuck on the splash screen. Im using cwm 3.x, and using cm7

You must use a 2.x version of recovery to restore a Froyo rom. 3.x is for Gingerbread.
HTC Glacier running CM7 #33
resotre 2.x recovery
i already installed the gingerbread recovery like he did, how do i revert back?
Lots of choices. I recommend using Fastboot, but you could also reinstall CM7 and use ROM Manager. I suppose if you had the 2.x image handy on SD you could also flash it from Recovery. But I haven't bothered to check this last.

Thanks I was wondering about that, would the lower recoveries be located in the Rom manager older recoveries section?

Do a search for pd15img.zip.

Look in the development section. There are a ton of step by step guides if you search.

To revert back all you need to is flash the original tmobile rom that is in the rom development and it will take u back to the original state without root

Find the above file, have it saved to root of sdcard, boot into bootloader, bootloader will find the file on the card and prompt to install the stock image... follow prompts and done.
Nandroid first but really is easy.

I first flashed the 2.2.1 OTA. Then I flashed the stock recovery. Afterwards, flashed the stock radio. That's what I did. All are available in the Development section.

You could have used pd15img.zip to do all of that in one flash via hboot.
It's safer to flash back to the stock radio first to avoid getting stuck in a limbo situation in which attempting to flash back to stock results in "Main version older" with radio s-on rather than do it all in one step.

This guide should solve your problem. It involves hex editing the misc.img among other things to allow you to successfully flash back to stock.

If you used the gfree method of rooting, the following guide is pretty good:

Hope this helps.

[Q] Do I have to update my my touch 4g to flash a rom?

Because I'm running on a rooted 2.2.1 phone. I followed gfree's ultimate root and now I want to flash a mod , so do I have to update my software?
Anyone ?...........
You can just start flashing. You're already set. Just make sure you boot into recovery and make nandroid of your current rom. Might want to update recovery through rom manager before anything though.
