Can't Hear - EVO 4G General

Hi I am having an issue with my Evo where first couple of times the callers can't hear me. It usually goes away after 2 times but then if the phone sits around for about 40-60 minutes then it seems like the cycle starts over again.
I was using Fresh 3.3.0.1, but then I switched to CM 6.1 hoping that the issue would go away, but its still there. Anyone have something similar or know how I can solve this.

That happens to me about half the times I use the updated Voice Search app to call a number. No problems otherwise.

hmm..I wonder if I should get the phone unrooted and fixed by Sprint...its really annoying...

My voice Intermittently going quiet (During calls)

Hi,
Sometimes when I'm talking, my friends tell me that my voice goes quiet and muffled, my friend notices this sometimes when i'm talking, and it can happen anytime the voice from me just goes all quiet and muffled.
Anybody experienced this with the HD2 or know a fix?
I've tried to upgrade firmware to latest but nothing.
Thanks.
It's called Laryngitis. it'll go away in 2 weeks. This isn't a health forum though
No, but it sounds like a microphone issue. I haven't experienced this though, so it may be a hardware issue.

I've got a similar issue, but I'm not sure if it's the same one..
About 15 minutes into a call. It almost sounds like the reception is about to cut out, then it goes back normal, then it starts repeating that cycle every two seconds or so until i get so frustrated that I just hang up. Doesnt seem to make a difference when I call again.
I've also tried updating ROMs and Radios a few times, but it doesnt seem to help. I'm now back on Duttys Hybrid V6 WWE and have upgraded to the 2.15 radio...
Haven't been able to figure out what it could be... but it's pretty frustrating now.. First HTC was a Diamond that died in 3 months and now this HD2 is giving me the ****s... lol (never mind me.. i'm just venting! )

Cannot hear other person during call?

So usually after the phone has been in my pocket a bit, if I try to make a call, the screen and everything looks normal, but I hear no ringing. I don't know if it is actually going through but I doubt it.
Hang up, call right back... the phone starts ringing as normal.
I do this more and more often lately. Have to call everyone twice.
Has anyone else ever had this?
I've had this happen on several different ROMs, and I've been using 2.2 since it was publicly available.
same thing is happening to me, figured it was one of the bugs with dk28, hoping the official release will fix this annoyance
+1 same bug---same hope
I've been having it at least since DK17, maybe earlier.
I have the same problem.
Same problem as soon as I installed DK28. Hopefully they have these kinks worked out in the final release.
had this same problem from long ago. but i heard it was part of the delay for then the call is being sent 2 the tower... or something along those lines
Also intermittently having this issue, but it happened with my previous, non-android phone, too. I'm pretty sure the problem isn't the phone or its software.
I'd believe it was the network easier if hanging up and calling back didn't fix it...
Same problem. When I try the first time and hear nothing, no ringing or anything, the person Im calling says their phone rang and they answered it but heard nothing.

I've had this happen also.
So why is this not widely discussed? Did everyone think it was just them? I know that's how I felt...
This is a pretty serious issue. Is anyone on stock ROM?
i have this same issue and it only started happening once i flashed froyo. quantum rom. i dont think this was happening on eclair from what i remember but also people do say their phone rings. this is kinda annoying.
I'm using Quantum, too...
this started happening to me right when I installed DK28.
I had this issue too when I installed DK28.
I just flashed back to DI18 cause it was driving me nuts.
But one thing I found was that if you turn the speaker phone on then off, your good to go.
Have this problem. I have froyo, didn't happen on DK18.
Same here. By the way...I've also had a failed audio issue on voice dialing as well. First call the receving part can never hear me. I have to hang up and call right back manually.
Omg I thought I was crazy! Its been doing this since dk17. It only happens when I call businesses though :/

Okay, this just happened to me on my new flash of Cyanogenmod. So it's either a radio or "didn't wipe cache enough times" problem, right?

Sound randomly stops on calls

This is a new issue that I'm having, just over the past couple of days. When I'm on a call, randomly a few minutes in, the other person can no longer hear me. It doesn't happen on every call, just some and I have no idea what's causing it. Has anyone else had a similar issue?
what rom are you running?
I have a few times but I think it is more of a network issue because I have a blackberry on sprint for work and out does the same thing even with full signal.

I'm running stock. Never rooted.
It must be a network thing, I am having the same issue, but only a couple of times over the last 5 days.... I am running stock DK28

I've had a similar problem start this week where there is no audio when beginning a call. Very frustrating, never had an issue before, have been on Syndicate 2.1 rom since november. One time I eventually got a CDMA failure call dropped popup error, so hopefully it's just temporary network issues. (50 miles apart)
have the same thing going on.... if i turn on the speakerphone then they can hear me again. but you have to talk on speakerphone for the remainder of the call.
i thought it was a rom issue, i run AOSP 3.1 though.... seems kinda strange for it to be a network deal. wonder if there is something up with the phones??

Issue: Failed Calling

It Could be my provider problem, but just wanted to make sure.
Is anyone having failed attempts at calling , where it continues to keep ending the call every time u press talk?
Yep. When that happens nothing works. Texts. Email. Everything. Reset fixes it.

Happened to me first time today, had phone since launch.
Flashed my first customer ROM yesterday (CM7) and thought it might be that. Only a reboot fixed it, not even switching to Airplane mode.
How often does it happen to you guys?

it started happening to me recently, and quite often.
i really dislike pressing call over and over for it to keep failing.
I thought it was my carrier too, but normally a reboot fixes everything!
That was happening to me quite a lot. During a phone call it would drop the call but had full 3g service. Nothing was working, calls, internet, emails, google chat.
Hasn't happened since I did a factory reset. It's a pain in the arse to keep entering all the info again but it hasn't done it since.
I guess it a temporary solution.
It happens to me as well.
Happens to me too. I'm not sure if it's just the Nexus S since it happened pretty often on my Nexus One. I use Google Voice with all calls and I think that that may be the culprit.
It may have started with the 3.3.2 update for me.
It needs a reboot to fix it. Really annoying.
This happened to me yesterday. At first I was like wtf is going on here, then I rebooted the phone.
Two days ago I un-installed the e-bay app as I noticed it started up all the time by itself, and since doing so have not had any calls dropping out.
Ok heres one for you guys!
Theres been multiple times i've been asked why I didnt answer my phone when people called, but on my phone it has not rung nor does it show a missed call. My GF just called and said she called a few minutes prior but i didnt pick up. She knew i mentioned this problem so she called again and i got it.
I REALLY dont like this bug......
Calls drop with 2.3. 3 too.
Dial..., nothing. Dial..., nothing.... sometimes it takes multiple attempts, with mane green bars.

I have i sinilar problem that i press call or speed dial then It does not call at all just goes back to the dialler screen.

Problems

I got the Atrix on Wednesday an am already considering returning it. I love the hardware. As a "phone" it's great, call quality, volume, clarity....all excellent. GPS is spot on perfect.....but I keep having strange problems.
Firstly the screen just randomly stops responding until I hold the power button down/restart. This has happened 5 times since Wednesday and I can't figure out what's causing it.
Secondly I have lost data connection 2 times and had to reboot to get it back, I noticed a few other people have had this problem as well.
Thirdly, tonight I lost all cell signal in a spot where I normally have near full 3G, I waited for about 20 minutes to see if it would come back up....after it didn't I rebooted and was back to full signal.
Lastly.....and this just happened....I got a text message and instead of playing the notification alert it has always used it picked a random mp3 and played the whole thing.
Is the phone possessed or what? Am I the only person who is having these kind of problems?
I have experienced none of these. I'd take it back.
Take it back. None of those here either
