Anyway to get Android keyboard in froyo? Im flashed to eugene's rom
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App

Eugene has several keyboards on his rom. Just change the input method by holding down a text field. BTW, you can type on the swype keyboard like the stock android.

I only have swype and samsung keyboards
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App

I like Smart Keyboard Pro in market or free HTC_IME mod v27 < this is what i am using now.

Yeah, I thought Swype would be neat when I first got my phone, but after using it a bit I'm baffled as to why so many people seem to like it. I can type faster by actually typing than I can using Swype, and it's easier overall as well. To each his own I suppose.

Yea I tried it before and hated it now im forced to usee it ick

Use the Samsung keyboard. It's better than the Android keyboard (garbage)

What's wrong with the Android keyboard? That's what I use on my phone and have no problems with it.

Yea. I decided to give that a try. Seems as good as the android keyboard. Thanks guys.

+1 on Smart Keyboard Pro.
The android keyboard is rather Spartan and underfeatured IMO. I definitely prefer the customizability of SKP.

Stock keyboard 'arrows'

I've grown quite accustomed to the stock EVO keyboard, but I'd love to lose the arrow buttons at the bottom of the keyboard.
Suggestions?

HTC IME mod keyboard. Search that; I don't have a link.
There's also the Droid X multitouch keyboard, but that's not much like the stock Evo keyboard

Do you mean slide, swipe your finger like you do on Swype Keyoard, or you are talking about some kind of Swype keyboard skin?
Ultra keyboard works like Swype, but much faster, and much nicer.
Yes like swype keyboard

Possible to change keyboard in rubiX Focused ROM?

I am new to ROM's and love rubiX Focused. My only gripe is the keyboard buttons are a bit too small. Is there anyway to use a different keyboard from a different ROM? Or any other advice would be appreciated.
There are a bunch of other keyboards you can download off the market.

Im looking to put the multitouch keyboard on rubix but cant seem to do it. Is it possible
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Better keyboard, swift keyboard and smart keyboard pro all do multi touch, just search for multi touch keyboard and take your pick. I don't use Rubicon but they should work on any rom using android 2.2 it higher.
Edit: rubix not Rubicon (damn auto correct)

I used the Liberty toolbox (app management > Install add-ons) to change keyboards. I think there is a blur keyboard on there

That's what I use but I thought it only works with the liberty rom. I could be wrong, I haven't tried it with any other roms.

Ya I thought that the liberty toolbox only worked with the liberty rom but. I really like the droid x keyboard. If someone has used the tool box to add that keyboard I would love to know about it.

Thanks for the heads up on swiftkey tablet. Generally I use a swype style including stock 4.2 so I'm quite happy to give this a go.
Prediction seems well equipped for my style of misspellings lol!

I tried SwiftKey Tablet hut didn't like it... I don't really remember why... Anyway, I just use SwiftKey like I have on my phone. I rarely type in landscape, anyway, so the keys are a great size for me to type.

Kii looks good but it doesn't have face book, Gmail and sms sync which SwiftKey has.
You should take a look at "Hackers Keyboard" from the Playstore. It features a full 5row keyboard with tab, arrow keys and much more useful keys. It's perfect for use with terminals.
cheers phk

+1 for the kii keyboard.
for the tablet it is the best i've used so far.
MessagEase has been my favorite keyboard since my old HandSpring. It looks strange, and you have to practice a bit to get your speed up, but it is fast and hugely customizable.

Been using this for a while; started using it after a few days of using the stock keyboard and getting tired of it. I really like it.
I'm currently using SwiftKey Tablet, really nice keyboard. I decided to use it because I was bored of the stock one (stock keyboard isn't that bad after all, but I wanted to try something new).
I have to say I am happy with the 4.2 stock keyboard.
I was using the Swype Beta - for the good voice engine.
I still use the voice engine...

Stock keyboard sucks. What do you use?

What else is compatible with jb 4.2.2?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
Did you try swype under Language and input options?
Seriously what is up with the stock keyboard? It seemed pretty decent on the Note 2, but on the S4 if won't insert autocorrections when you hit space, and there's nothing in the options to enable it to do so. That is such a basic feature, and leaving it out is a huge step backwards. Samsung, what were you thinking?

Get SwiftKey. Blows everything else away.

Also using SwiftKey. I never cared for stock keyboards except for the blackberry keyboard but that's a whole different phone and argument in itself lol

SwiftKey is the ultimate!
SwiftKey and Swype + Dragon - switching between the two. Not sure if I want to invest the $4 yet for SwiftKey!
I use the new Swype from the play store

You can turn off auto correct in the keyboard settings. I like the keyboard i like the fact it always has numbers at the top.
Swiftkey for life.
I use the stock 4.2 keyboard. I keep the apk on my SD so I can install it. You can swype or type and it seems to work well.
SwiftKey... Love it

+1 for SwiftKey.... Although I wish it also had the option for numbers at the top for us with bigger screens! But adjusting the long press to about 200ms makes it tolerable! Other that SwiftKey is bar far the best!
