found this in another thread, for X1 users this works great and gives a slightly better experience than the panel

Yes, been running it for a few days on my X1 with no problems.
Prefer this one over the panel too, allows me to do other tasks and leave it running in the background
Ya, this is really awesome! I can't believe i can do so much without using Opera!
wm6.5 is out??
It's not bad but it doesn't refresh like it should so you find there are posts, status updates, photos and all sorts of stuff missing from the news feeds.
Here too. And it's not updateing my status. But, overall, it,s ok.

I believe the updates are staggered so your connection isn't flooded with continuous updates, although when i refreshed it seemed fairly fast. WM 6.5 Beta is out, they pulled the link on XDA after M$ complained that their CAB had sneaked onto the net. FYI, i did a search and haven't found it anywhere... but i'm waiting for 7 anyways... not a Honeycomb Kid, myself.
Just a note to say this app has been updated, and is now officially out. It has fixed a few things, such as being unable to refresh your own wall, but frustratingly a few bugs still exist (for me anyway). Get it here: http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=74767568466&h=HojHN&u=0JC5r&ref=mf

There are a tons of WM 6.5 ROM's out there, 6.5 is far more than a CAB, even though it isn't much more than 6.1. The honeycomb is long gone too. Titanium is really the best part, kinda makes panels, TF3D, anything else obsolete.

err, that's a link through btw. goes somewhere else, not officially facebook. think i'll skip it as i'm generally distrustful.
Lol ok fair enough, I was just posting the link from the official Windows Mobile Facebook page. Here is the actual page minus the Facebook frame: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/facebook.mspx Trust is good
nice one, thanks.
it's also over in the hacking forum:

fyi,
good news: you can comment on statuses now.
bad news: you can't see other people's comments on statuses (nor even if there are any) without clicking on the status, going to their profile and then changing to the wall tab.
am i the only one that primarily uses facebook for commenting on statuses and reading other people's comments? pain in the arse!
i have lost kinetic scrolling from the beta to the offical rom.
has anyone got kinetic scrolling?
Hi, anyone getting pinch to zoom to work in google map 4.1.1 on their legend?
pinch zooming is not supported as far as I know
Sent from my HTC Legend using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
right..it's not supported...by now...
it works well on milestone for sure. I used to use a milestone.
my legend cant pinch to zoom in original google map too
But I have install maps4.1.0.4126-brut6.apk, it can be pinch to zoom
being objective
we all love our new gadgets, but we should be objective and considering the idea that this phone is crap... (by now...)
- no pinch to zoom in gmaps
- ring volume problems
- missing apps in the market
- low battery life (in italy with tim, at least)
- facebook apk not working properly (with many contacts)
- mail client with a few problems (attached files "disappear" if sent with apple mail app)
I hope htc fixes all these buggy annoing problems...
HTC Desire has newer firmware, so thatswhy it supports pinch to zoom, etc.
Hoping HTC releases the the 2.1 update 1 firmware soon.
I encountered the pinch to zoom problem (very minor think, i can live with is), and the app market problem, but we know the cause for both.
Another thing I'd like to have on my legend is the rotation of the map with the compass in google maps, do you think is possible?

i question whether they will update it with an updated 2.1 or if they will just wait for 2.2 and update straight to froyo cause apparently its not far off
No info
I sent a mail to HTC about the possibility of the update, but they can't say anything about future updates...
You can try searching the forum for the google map brut r6 it enables pinch zoom. I installed out and out works without any issues.

any update?
Hi all,
Am on the verge of pulling the trigger on a Legend purchase...
Several reviews have hinted there is no pinch to zoom on Google Maps as have the posts in this thread ; fair enough - though is this feature arriving soon?
Or is it something that is simply not going to happen?
Any other users had much luck with ' brut r6 ' ? Does it differ in any way from the original Google Maps?
Any insight appreciated
actually i dont know how many people have noticed that the legend is missing alot of things from other 2.1 phones ie live wallpapers, pinch zooming in map, google earth
makes me wounder if they have done something to the legend to make it less appealing cause there really is no reason why the legend cant to live wallpapers cause the hero does it.
who knows hopefully we will get some stuff back when 2.2 is released
Pinch zooming in Google Maps is pretty desirable [no pun intended], anyone have that working or know whether the Legend will get it ?
Surely there is nothing hardware wise stopping it...
WHY people don't read other replies ?! And why don't you (all) read the forum?!?!?
There's ABSOLUTELY no probs at all having Multitouch (or pinch-to-zoom) in google maps! Go to the link below, download the apk, and get pinch-to-zoom , Google nav and so on!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=630887
Is so difficult to download an app and install it ?!?! Come on.......
And... yes...IT ALWAYS WORKS
Thanks, didn't really dive into the 'HTC Dream: G1 > G1 Android Development' subforum as I wouldn't have thought it's applicable to the Legend, if it were, it would've though it'd appear in the Legend subforum...?
Maybe that's just me though, I'm new to Android and therefore may have missed an obvious link between the two.
Thanks for the reply anyway, and for the link. And no, its not difficult to download an app and install it. Though I was asking ahead of a prospective purchase...

Welcome, mate... It's only because I've heard (read) a lot of ppl saying: "Uh...No pinch-to-zoom on GoogleMaps? No google navigator? No APP2SD? No root? No multi-touch?! Then it doesn't worth buying this phone...it sucks!" or similar things... but ALL is possible on Android, thanks to its open-source philosophy, or its huge possibilities for developers, and the GREAT support offered by communities like XDA-dev

Agreed. Good to know all of above is achievable without bricking the device...!!
I'm coming from WebOS so can fully appreciate the force of the developer community...

They never do :-(
Once I mailed them about when they would release a Sense-enabled firmware for the Magic, and the reply was something like yours.
Later the same day the update was released... so it seems to be the standard canned response, they apparently just don't care to answer that kind of questions.
It doesn't look ANYTHING like the HTC Sense Clock anymore and seems more suited to Vanilla Android ROMs, but ay, it looks great, and is still free.
More info here:http://www.anddoes.com/2010/10/25/fancy-widget-is-back/
EDIT: Interesting, if you look in the comments, the dev confirms the ability to skin the widget. So I guess the HTC Clock skin is going to live on afterall.
I think the change in appearance is due to the recent cease and desist message Beautiful Widgets received from HTC, so maybe they don't want to risk it that much

Actually, no, the change in appearance was due to THEM receiving a C/D from HTC . Both BW and FW got a C/D, hence why neither of them closely resemble the HTC Clock anymore.
ooh I didn't know FW got it, too..

Yup. But no need to fear, C/Ds are never effective against independent skinners, and seeing as the new FW is supposedly going to be skinnable in an updated version coming soon, so I doubt it will be long before someone brings us back the HTC Clock skin
Anyone having problems with it not updating/refresing? Every now and then, I have to go into the configuration and re-set the refresh settings. This happens on both aospMod and Nfinite's .7 ROM.
I found YouTube videos of a guy showing how to change the tray icons on the other Galaxy S phones, but it doesn't work for the Epic 4G.
I'd post the link, but since I'm a new user I can't post the link. Just search for 'change tray icons samsung' in YouTube to see it.
Is there any way to do this on the Epic? Thanks!
Disable touchwiz launcher. I can't post links either. Google "disable touchwiz launcher" and you will find it.

No problem. I haven't even gotten my epic yet but I've been reading up on stuff and its just something I picked up.
I remember reading somewhere that Skype will only work on galaxy s with 2.2. and that the "fix" for the epic and other galaxy s as far as skype and other apps like yahoo with video (the official yahoo w/video, not the mytouch4g rip... well thats official too but you know what i mean...) is froyo.
bla wrong forum *FAIL* and it won't let me delete
Today on Official SE Latvia Facebook page was posted some information about new update
(http://www.facebook.com/sonyericssonlv/posts/256797321016149)
HTML:
"Xperia tālruņiem ar Android 2.3.3 pieejams jauns atjauninājums. Atjauninājumam jāizmanto USB vadu un Update service vai PC Companion aplikācijas. Kontakti un dati atjauninājuma laikā netiek bojāti.
Pilns atjauninājuma ieguvumu apskats sekos pirmdien!"
I have translated it for you:
Where already is avaliable update for Xperia phones with Android 2.3.3. To update your phone you need USB cable and Update service via PC Companion application. Contacts and phones\ data won't be damaged during these update
SE also commented below (this is about ARC, but shows nice results anywhere):
HTML:
"Diemžēl nē-procesors paliek tāds pats, bet Bencmark testā gan no 2100 p pacēlās reitings uz 2888 p!"
"Unfortunately no, the processor will remain the same (not 1400 mhz), but the benchmark shows that the rating from 2100 p increased to 2888 p."
One new comment from SE Latvia about Xperia X10:
HTML:
"Tātad tomēr X10 pagaidām ir pāreja no 2.1. uz 2.3. un pagaidām nav jaunāku atjauninājumu. (Nebiju pārliecināts vai X10 arī būs pieejams šis atjauninājums - to jautāju Twiterī)
Esmu šobrīd pārbaudījis uz Arc, Neo, Mini, MiniPro"
"So far, however, X10 is a changing from 2.1. to 2.3. and yet there is no newer update. (I was not sure if the X10 is available for this update right now - it asked in Twitter)
I've now checked the Arc, Neo, Mini, MiniPro"
Anyway, it is a good news. We will have some improvements in some time!
Also that's mean, that SE is still supporting and updating our phones
Good luck to all!
No offense, but did you read any other threads in this forum? Specially this one?
2.3 has been out for a couple of weeks already...

@OP Good news nonetheless. As long as they'll update the Arc, we'll get the update as well within a few hours

They have probably taken Z music fix. If we get lucky it would be bravia, xloud and fps fix but sought they would go that far. Maybe they stopped us being able to pre root their roms?
Nice find OP

@scoobysnacks
SE person said what for other phones (Arc, Neo, Mini, MiniPro) update was already rolled out. So you can try to look in those models forums

Just found some interesting news and thought, that someone could find it usefull
