[Q] Read Text out of PDF file - Android Software Development

I have an app that used to read a text file from a server. They changed the text file to be a pdf.
I've tried a number of things to be able to just read the text out of the pdf file but can't. I just need the text so I can add stuff and display it to the user.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

copy&paste to Word.
I use Jeyo Mobile Companion for that. You acess your phone very quickly and when it comes to messages you can choose to see messaging history. It is like a chatlog and then you can save it to txt or anything else. Later you can print it easily - either from a text doc or you convert txt to pdf and you print it then.
Have fun!

is their a program or cab file that allows you to alter clolour,size etc of text in text messages

Copy text from web sites / gmail?

I find I need to copy text from Gmail or a website sometimes and I have yet to figure out a way to do it. I can easily copy text from a text entry box but if it is just text on a page or email you cant bring up a Select Text option. Is there any way to do this?
On browser,
Menu > More > Select Text
Gmail,
Not there yet. Try check via Browser when you need to copy text. You should still be able to paste in the gmail app
Yeah, this is in the sticky. Froyo brings copy/paste to gmail.

[GUIDE]My Text - SMS stored text messages

The SMS function for WM 6x is a Microsoft Inbox service. One useful feature is that it has a library of 10 stored text messages which you can customise and store on your phone.
The list of stored text messages can be viewed when you are in the view, reply or forward SMS context. The list will be shown when you tap on "My Text" from the SMS menu icon. There is an Edit function for you to customise your own messages for future use.
The problem faced by WM users is that when they hard-reset or flash a ROM, they will have to re-edit their stored text messages all over again this can be time-consuming. In this forum, there had been questions asked about the location of the stored text messages, but their queries were usually not responded to, or a vague answer answer was given.
The solution is to import the Registry settings after a hard-reset or flashing a ROM. The Registry settings:
Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\PresetMsgs]
"0"="Stored text #01"
"1"="Stored text #02"
"2"="Stored text #03"
"3"="Stored text #04"
"4"="Stored text #05"
"5"="Stored text #06"
"6"="Stored text #07"
"7"="Stored text #08"
"8"="Stored text #09"
"9"="Stored text #10"
Steps:
1. Cut and paste the text from the Code box and save it to a Registry file on your microSD, e.g., MSinbox.reg
2. Use any Text Editor to edit the values of the "Stored Text #01 through #10" to customise your own.
3. From now on, when you hard-reset or flash a ROM, you only need to import the Registry settings.
Use a File Explorer software
Navigate to the file location of the Registry file
Double-tap on the Registry file
Tap "Yes" to accept the import
4. There is no need to restart the cellphone - just terminate the SMS software and re-start. The SMS software will read the Registry each time it starts.

Can't copy and Paste

If you can copy, but not paste, the issue is probably with the app you're trying to paste into. Try a different text messaging app and see if it works.

This.
Also, certain apps only allow you to copy certain things (for some reason). For example, I use Textra as my sms app and they don't allow you to copy individual text within a message, only the whole message itself. I also use some apps for my business that do not allow copying at all.
What bugs me is I can copy text from the integrated browser but cant paste the text on the top where the Url goes or can't copy a url in the browser to text it or paste it.?? Or I can copy a text or image in browser but can't paste it into a text message on the phone text app. I was able to do all this on the S6. I have found a lot of places I was able to copy/paste/cut on the S6 that I can't on the S7. It's very frustrating!!:crying:
