Isn't it just a shortcut to their website or something? I think I looked at it the first day I got my phone and never looked back.

Yes. You just need to get the apk and put it back in system/app. I don't have it in front of me right now or I would upload it for you. If nobody gets it to you by the time I get home I will post it up.

Install roms without root

I have been wondering if there's a way to install roms without root.. if there's a way.. then can someone help me with it! ? Please give me all steps... Thanks!!

Are you trying to not have root after you install the rom(no in most cases since most roms are rooted), or do you want ot install without rooting first? (yes, it can be done if you are on jfd or ji6)?

Sure you can install roms without rooting but you'll be limited to those provided by either Samsung or your carrier. You can have half the steps now but the other half will cost you $$$. j/k

google and youtube can be your best friend in situations like this, most of the time even more informative.
but jfd and ji6 are firmware versions or different updates if you will

You can't see signatures from the XDA app. View it in a browser

Sure! Press menu, then View in Browser. From there, you can click on his signature links and do some reading

Search the market for gingerbread launcher and gingerbread keyboard. That's as good as it gets if you for whatever crazy reason don't want rootz

I am just scared to root my new Samsung vibrant! If I get perfect help.. I would probably do it! And I want gingerbread so bad!

Yeah rooting is the easy part. Hell, flashing roms is easy too. You just have to read and follow directions. This phone is nearly brick-proof too. As long as you follow directions you have nothing to worry about.

Trigger boot animation

I deleted trigger off my sd and now I'm running simply honey. I pretty much need that boot on every rom I run. Can xda dump it for me?

lol, after all that you should have just DL the ROM since you know it has it. I have a few different copies of Trigger saved so I'm not sure if this is it or not but here ya go, bro!
Also I would take a look at:
"XDA Developers" bootanimation (been stuck on this one for a grip)
and the
"World" bootanimation from [EDT] for their "Atriarc LG" ROM, that one is friggin titz! (if only it didn't say "Atriarc")

Need new sprint redesigned sprint tv apk with location based services

I have the ec06 and I want the newest sprint tv apk with location based services. This is the one with the redesigned interface. Ec06 does not prompt to update. When I had my evo 4g on fryo when I had updates it would save the updates to the transflash, the epic does not. Anyway to change that?

When I try to open it, it says there us update available. When I try to update, it fails and closes. Can you possibly post a link for yours that's working please?

I am the leaked ec06 & I went back to fryo and went to data and copied the apps folder that has the spector the new sprint tv. But when I go back to ec06 it fails to install

It says an update is available burning under ec05 fryo. Under eh06 it does not say an update is available

I tried it under eh06 the gingerbread leak and it goes to install and then fails.

It works pretty well under EH06. You have to copy the com.mobitv.client.sprinttv-1.apk file to the /system/app folder of your phone with Root Explorer, SDX App Remover, ect... Make sure to delete the SprintTV.apk file from /system/app.

It does not load any channels, just keeps going with the spinny thing. The version in EH06 comes right up so I went back to that.

Anyone with a working Sprint TV....please post a link for me....EDIT..I tried extracting stock EH06 and pushing the apk from that and same thing..sits at the spinning white thing. Can anyone help out here?. I have 4 thanks left waiting for you...

I have the apk for the new sprint tv. I got off the phone on ec05 fryo. I odin to eh06 & and as soon as i was on the home screen i installed the new sprint tv on ec06 & it failed

WORKING touchwiz launcher?

Can anyone provide a working touchwiz launcher for optimus one? I've tried some but everytime I restart my phone all my sd card do not appear and leave empty spaces and I have to relaunch it to get it to work.

I guess it d cause the touchwiz loads first then the sd card loads so touchwiz could not find the apps

i am still surprised of how many MB there fit in
a 125 KB .dex file
when i unpack it it will be 98 MB
when compressed in .dex file
we have a lot less
