Is it me or is the miniature sized pattern on the aria annoying. I want to know if there is a way to make it normal sized. Not all bunched together.

I haven't tried it, but there's a setting in Extended Controls that says Pattern Lock. I'll try to remember to take a look at it and report back tomorrow.

I rooted my vibrant and removed bloat. Since then the puzzle piece style notifications don't work. when I put the piece in the right spot I just jump to my last open page. Then, if I don't check the message, I will not receive any sms notifications until I go to the messaging app. Any suggestions?

I guess I'm confused I've never seen this puzzle piece thing that the phone is talking about. When I look at my lock screen its just a clear box and I slide it out of the way to unlock my phone.

You get the puzzle piece when there is a notification while the screen is locked. you are supposed to put the puzzle piece in the missing spot and it will take you to the new message/missed call/etc
I get the puzzle piece. I put in in the spot...and I go to my last screen. And my sms notifications are MESSED UP. I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps I deleted an apk or odex that I wasn't supposed to. But before I flash back to the stock rom (and re-root, and de-bloat again) I wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing the same issue.
@kizer
The puzzle piece only show up for about 2nd seconds after an SMS is received, only if God phone is not passcode protected.
@OP
I'm rooted, and have removed some of the bloatware, but my puzzle screen still works. I am using the stock messaging app.

Back in the dark days when I had an iPhone there was an app called QuickLock. By touching it, it would shut the screen off the same as hitting the power button on the Galaxy S. Does anyone know of or better yet tried an app that does this?
Thanks
Even better to me is to emulate what "activator" in iPhone could do, which allows users to configure their preferred gesture for blanking the screen. I chose to slide my finger from the home button up. This method is superior to pressing the button as in Quicklock because it does not require the user to come to the desktop to look for the icon. In other word, you can enter off the screen from anywhere. I like it especially on my iPad, because the case is designed in a way that makes pressing the power button a little difficult to effect.

I can't find this application in the market place (Australia is where I am).
How do I change the lock screen to show "unlock" instead of the picture of the lock?
I can't post under the actual thread yet.

I don't have enough posts to post links/inserts. If you go to the frankenstein rom dk28. One of the screenshots has what I am looking for. It says unlock on the lock screen instead of the icon of a lock. It was also on an Evo rom, Frost.
The "Unlock" wording isn't whats always there.
That is a "glass" lockscreen, therefore theres no icons or background to the slider. to view the world "Unlock" you have to press on the slider, slide it half way to the right (Before it hits the Dot that appears on the right), and don't release. When you slide it and hold it there, the word "Unlock" slides out from the left.
Same goes for "Sound on/off" on the right slider when you slide it to the left.
Ill be adding this as an option once we figure out when this next update from Sprint is coming... But I am still working on some things while we wait.
It will be an update.zip along with several others,black menus ect... Im going more stock to begin with and adding more options.

Ya I knew this. But what I am talking about is something that replaces that and only shows "Unlock" without sliding.
But that sounds good ecooce! I love the ROM. Quick question, which kernel do you recommend using? I am using genocide and it seems to give me issues with root access and my processor is overheating.
Twilight Zone is where its at right now,it has root built in,Genocide does not. As for over heating,Ive tested both of these kernels and never had a problem with heat,but I only OCd for a short period of time. But we will see what happen,Sprint will have a new OTA ready soon.
Edit = HW keyboard skips,wtf,still.

I am sure this has been dealt with, but I have tried so many searches and found nothing that could help me.
I cannot find any setting anywhere to keep the screen locked even when the keyboard slides out, and sometime sin my pocket the keyboard slides slightly but enough to turn the screen on and unlock the device.
What can I do? do I have to replace the basic lock app?
please point me in the direction of existing threads if you know of any or solutions.
cheers

Yes I would like to know that
I solve it by also using pattern type screen lock (in security settings with immediate lock on after) thus even after sliding, the HTC default lock will be unlocked, but the pattern will be required to completely unlock the phone...
If I'm not mistaken, HTC designed the Desire Z and the G2 to unlock when the keyboard is opened. Naturally, on paper, this would make sense given that you could just slide the keyboard to go right to typing. However, as stated before, if you put the pattern lock, then it shouldn't be able to unlock even when you slide.
if you have a pattern or PIN lock it won't unlock when opened.
Now. There is a nice elegant solution that I didn't think of.
And there I was trying to be simple and all I needed waas added security, thanks guys.
Setting it up now

i find this more convenient this way as i can just slightly tilt the keyboard-screen flip to unlock the phone right away.
Replace your springs in the hinge so it will close tightly and not open in your pocket

Also, using pattern prevent accidental unlocks when the screen slides along some material that it respond to. I don't use the pattern for security but as additional screen lock because the default lock is just poor
So I set up a Pattern Lock. I really like it.
only issue is having to still do the slide down lock AND then the pattern lock.
I cannot find the setting to turn off the slide lock.
what have I missed?
If you rooted your phone and installed a ROM like Cyanogenmod ... you'd have the option to unlock by using the trackpad instead hitting the power button and then slide down to unlock.
Hi all I would like to buy a used nexus 4 of 10.10.2013, at the price of 150 euro European warranty, I just doubt the seller declares that the virtual keys on the phone do not work and everything else works before you buy i surely you'll see the phone, so i wanted to know, there is pssibilità or a way to figure out if the problem is with the virtual keys or the screen without first changing rom or restore the phone, that is immediate??
You can remove the virtual keys to use the cell with the only home to see if the part of the screen where the buttons are working?
Sorry for my bad english,i use google translate
Download the app "phone tester". It has a function called " multi-touch test". You can just move your finger over the whole screen to check for any blank spots.
Does the phone come completely stock? Because sometimes s2w and d2w cause problems like this.

If your phone has a custom kernel, you can activate and s2w d2w, if your phone has the stock kernel that is not possible. If your phone there are s2w and d2w with phone The application tester will give error in the area of soft keys when you head to the screen?
The app I mentioned is just to see if and where there are blank spots.
I've made the experience that d2w after sometimes makes the left and right side of the screen unresponsive. Others might have made other observations.

tanks before I buy it I'll try the screen with the program who advised me
I picked up the phone, the touch works all the rom and the kernel are original, as I solve the problem of virtual keys??
Does touch input work on the complete screen? There's a button on top to make the touch test run in full screen so you can test all borders and edges. If it does I guess flashing a complete stock image should solve the issues.

It works all the touch screen, the problem is that the keys back - home - menu, they do not work it vertically horizontally into the side of the phone where they are placed, they only work if I turn the phone and I get them to appear in the side where you is the camera.
