Read carefully!
T-Mobile MyTouch 3G version 1.2 (with 3.5" audiojack) IS NOT Magic 32A
Use only manuals with tag [MT3G 1.2]

ya even though it says 32a we are not, we use the 2.xx radio but lots of roms available since the g1 is a 32b

I'm surprised you haven't bricked your phone.

Oh man you have no idea, I almost did! Flashed 6.35 and new spl and my mytouch wouldn't boot! Luckily i had created a gold card!

Did you revert from hboot 1.76 to stock SPL and radio MT3G v1.2 without problem?
I didn't read any successfull story yet.

Yes, the 1.2 is a hybrid but it's really a 32b board at heart.

Yeah! I thought i had bricked for a second, what i did is i tried downgrade from 6.35 and 1.76 spl with goldcard and what happened is that i wouldnt load the goldcard. So what i did i downgraded to 3.22.XX.XXX and 1.33.2010 SPL using the tut i had explained in the begining of this thread. After i downgraded my 32A Sapphire turned into a Sapphire 32B, then i used the goldcard with 3.22 radio and 1.33 spl which worked and i got out from a brick!

My Radio SPL version?

I bought a used Rogers Magic phone.

Shouldn't it be:
Saphire SPL 32A ENG S-ON H
I'm not even sure 's-on' and 's-off' means...
If there's any radio, or SPL i need to update.. please let me know.
Thank you.
You have the Engineering SPL already flashed is all.
Here's a thread on the various SPLs.

Thank you.
Then how come I am bound to the rogers phone compatibility?
Rom for rogers HTC Magic phone
Above roms works for me, but
CyanogenMod v4.0.4
doesn't work for me.
Does it have to do with SPL version? or phone itself?
Thanks.
Also, why is mine 'Unkwown' not 'PVT'?

You need to use ROMs for a 32A board, the second ROM your trying to install is for the G1.

Vodafone 32B Magic with Radio 3.22.20.17

Anyone has this experience ?
What pro/cons ?
I tried to flash this radio when this thread was out:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=630853&highlight=vodafone+32+sense
It worked nice for me with that Stock Rom.
I flashed only Radio.img and System.img of course, i've the older Haykuro 1.33.2005 (SAPP10000)
So, any people around here are using this Radio with Vodafone 32B Magic ?
What Rom ?
Does Recovery Image works ?
Thanks
Nobody tested new Radio on Vodafone 32B ?
mmm strange...

If you flash a 32A radio onto a 32B device, it will work...
You'd then need to flash Amon_RA H recovery.
Issues... None except a much slower phone. Bluetooth works on Sense ROMs though, which I don't even think is an issue anymore.
Its all over at the G1 section, I flashed it on my MyTouch 3G, tons of us 32bers have flashed the new Radio

You mean the 32B radio 2.22.23.02. But QTeknology means 3.22.20.17. Which is a 32A radio.

Yes, i know what you mean. But i don't think it is a 32B radio because my normal recovery didn't started. After i tried it with a 32A kernel it booted fine.
Hold on a second! Is this right?
- Using any 32B SPL and 32B radio 2.22.19.26 or 2.22.23.02 you can boot a 32B ROM on a 32B Magic. We all do this.
- Using 32B Engineering SPL 1.33.2005 (possibly other Engs?) and 32A radio 3.22.20.17 you can boot a 32A ROM on a 32B Magic. QTeknology and mjrgens are doing this.
Has QTek just discovered a way to "fool" 32A ROMs into running on a 32B???

Just flashed this Radio that comes from a HTC Rom 2.16.151.3 (from German site)
http://www.4shared.com/file/241359056/7f466efc/radio3222017.html
I think it's for 32B:
ro.build.fingerprint=vodafone_generic/htc_magic/sapphire/sapphire:1.5/2.16.151.3/34732:user/release-keys
A Lot of Vodafone stuff inside the rom
The Android build is for Vodafone, i think. But the radio is 32A. Btw, don't flash the engineering SPL 1.33.2004 G if you have this radio, it will brick your device.
To be honest this whole thread gives me the heeby geebies, flashing radios is usually where bricks happen and I don't see there is any benefit to anybody changing their radio if what they currently have isn't giving them any problems.
Just my 2 cents .... on the subject of radios if it aint broke then don't try and fix it!
Flashing radio does not worry me, as I don't think it's possible to brick as long as you have original SPL? I've upgraded my Magic to 2.22.23.02 and it made a good difference.
Flashing SPL does give me the heeby geebies. It's pretty clear-cut for US T-Mobile G1s like the one I own, but for my Australian 1.33.0004 Magic I still can't get a straight answer as to what Eng SPL I should flash. 2004G seems to be the right one but I'm not 100% sure.
I see no real advantage on the Magic anyway, I can fastboot recoveries and the Vodafone-branded bootscreen does not bother me enough to risk bricking my phone.
At least with stock SPL I can always recover no matter how badly I stuff up the OS.
ok so over all it is possible to flash a 32a radio to a 32b and use 32a sense roms or is there an spl needed as well?

[Q] Which SPL should I use with Magic

I think my ROM problems must be related to the SPL I am using (since I have tried everything else, but cant boot into ANY ROM past the splashscreen even though recovery and fastbot work fine.)
Which SPL should I be using with an HTC magic that I think is 32b
I currently have the one linked to in the SPL thread that looks like this:
Engineering SPL 1.33.2005 - MD5 : 2B1AAA9012DC28F88C482E1B21A46FDD
(tmobile branded, original sep2009 mytouch)

How long do you let the phone sit at the splash screen before you give up on it? Anytime I've flashed a ROM I've had to wait around 5 minutes for it to fully boot up the first time. Outside of that, you may be flashing the wrong ROMs. Which one's have you tried?

Ok... you just costed me 1.5 hours of research.
You have 32B board which means that you should use 32B roms.
BUT, you have H-tag version and 3.22 radio. All 32B devices is G-tag version.
So i was confused... but i got it finally.
This is what you have to do:
Using your current spl and radio you can only use 32A roms. I know that you have 32B board but the H-tag makes it an EBI1 device and therefore you need 32A roms.
Or you can change you radio to the G version which is 2.22.19.261.
You also have to change recovery to G version or you cannot boot recovery correct.
Using the 2.22 radio you then have to use 32B roms.
CAN ANYBODY CONFIRM MY LOGIC?
ezterry CAN YOU CONFIRM?
So it's up to you...
So the question is, which roms have you tested.. 32A or 32B roms?
And did you do a full wipe + deleted all unnecessary files/folders on the sdcard before you booted the rom?

There is your problem... :0)
You need 32A roms with the current spl/radio combination you have on your device :0)
Test one... like the froyoredux:

And as you have done before...full wipe :0)
PS. Please report back on success or failure.

IT [email protected]! Thank you SO SO MUCH! (For reference, I followed the link given and downloaded 32a black 1.8)
I don't understand how I ended up needing a 32A kernel when I have the 32B phone - I must have messed something up earlier, but it doesn't matter to me all that much - as long as this keeps functioning!
You did not mess anything up.
Your device is a 32B board but has the H-tag (The last H in the first line of the fastboot. H stands for HTC-version.. G stands for Google-version).
If you want to use 32B roms you just need to flash a different radio and recovery (as stated above) and you should be good to go.
But imho there is more 32A roms then 32B roms.. so just stay with current spl/radio combination!
But beware... since you have 32B you cannot flash the 6.35 radio... thats only for the 32A boards...
With other words:
SPL -> 1.33.20xx, where xx can be 05, 09 or 10 (just stay with the one you have now... no reason to change)
if using 3.22 radio -> must have H recovery and use 32A roms
if using 2.22 radio -> must have G recovery and use 32B roms

Is the H-tag the same thing as an H recovery? If not, where does that H-tag come into play? I ask because I was having frequent crashes associated with using the radio, so I thought maybe I should go back to the 32B radio. I did so, and tried to go back to a 32b recovery at the same time. Amon Ra's 1.7 is running for me for the first time, but the "H" is still showing in fastboot:

I am next going to try installing a G rom from sdcard. Am I on the right track?
yes you are on the right track.
The H will never change...
Isn't the 32B version slower than the one with 32A?

Radio update?

Hi members!

There is this tool, but it only has 32A radio's so that made me confused and unsure if i should use it.
Thanks!
On Magic 32B there are only two recommended radios:

I'm pretty sure I used to be on 26i, but now I show that I'm on 23.02, even though I unrooted. Is it possible that one of the ROMs I flashed along the way updated my radio?
Is the 2.22.23.02 radio the most current version? I'm super confused now.

HTC Magic 32B - Help needed!

Hi Guys!
I have a HTC Magic 32B with the following characteristics:
SPL - 1.33.2005 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-10
RADIO - 3.22.20.17
I once had the Cyanogenmod 6 installed (not sure which version), but then I tried to update it, and now I'm stuck... I've tried to install several MOD's, but without success...
Which MOD should I install, with which SPL / Radio? What should be the best for this phone? Someone told me the Yoshi MOD, I tried to install but I don't think I have the right SPL...
I'm sorry for openning a new post regarding this, I'm sure there should be plenty of them, but this is so specific, and I've been searching for information on this for almost a week :/
Thanks in advance guys!
Yoshi needs the 1.33.0013 spl an the 27.08 or 28.25 radio
