[Q] Anyone working on a DesireHD build? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Darkstone has announced that he has discontinued his desirehd beta 2 build,
Is anyone else working on a desire hd build (with a working camera)?
I dont normally post such questions on here, its just that after trying that build, other builds dont compare, it was the most stable and the smoothest build for me,
the only real problem is that there was no working camera.
I have searched around but have ben unable to find any info....

I suggest you have a look in the Android Development section.
M-Deejay is working on one...

MDJ has had one going for a while now, it runs fast as hell with no problems except the camera and we're just waiting for a ported working kernel for it at the moment.
if anyone cares it seems to quadrant bench more than most other ROMs (at least on my HD2)

Waiting HTC Desire Froyo 2.2 Official ROM

Hi bros,
I really appreciate your work here. May anyone know when the Offical HTC Desire Froyo 2.2 ROM available?
Nexus One's Rom is good but no FM radio supported. Personally, I like HTC Sense more.
Really be? Expectations for the coming of God!
If I no mistake this is the build you looking for .... enjoy it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747492
a nice search would of got you froyostone
here darkstone is the god first search on his post
+1 on that
Dear,
I tried the Froyostone already. Screen freeze is serious vs. Nexus One 2.2 Rom. I guess Froyostone is not the official release version.
So you're looking for an official (HTC sourced) Desire Sense build that will work on HD2...
Let me laugh a bit....
---edit---
The freezes have nothing to do with the build not being "official"
Since there's no "official" android kernel for the Leo, we have to make do with the half-hack kernel jobs that we currently have. Problem is, they come with the problems you mentioned.
Best you can do is wait for the kernels to get a little bit better.
Oh, and there's no "official" Android build for HD2 either. Both the stock Android builds, the Sense builds, and all other questinably-themed hack-jobs are PORTED to the Leo since there's not (and never will be) an "official" Android release for Leo.

Epic post is epic!
Finally some sense coming from somebody in regards to people 'complaining' about things not working without understanding we should be happy for as much as we can have Andorid running on our beloved HD2 phones!

[Q] Possible to get updated Sense (from HD) to Desire build?

Hey guys, been searching and trial-and-erroring. Is it possible to get the newer Sense from one of the HD builds onto a Desire build?
I've been using Mdeejay's HD build for the longest, but the lack of camera progress has been a major drawback. I know the source is out there, and I think someone is working on it... but the HD builds seem to not be garnering any attention and rumors are that they are going the way of the dino.
I've been trying out some of the other excellent builds, and am currently using cmylxgo's TMOUS build (MDJ based). It is very good, but I still miss the newer Sense from the HD. (Plus the higher resolution was nice... but oh well, LCD density will have to do.)
I've fiddled around with pulling Rosie and some of the widget .apks from the MDJ build, but always wind up with a frozen boot or no Sense at all. I'm assuming there is much more in the framework that needs to be updated/changed, but I was hoping that a Sense update would be a simple drag-n-drop.
Anyone have any input or pointers? Or even any gossip about HD builds or camera progress?
Thanks,
Ryan
This is only possible if HTC did officially release their latest to the desire mobile. This is going to happen before the end of December. Visit the Pocketnow.com, so you can confirm this.

Camcorder for Gingerbread Build

Guys I'm been using MDJ and MCCM Gingerbread build ,both of them had the camera running , but why so hard to get the Camcorder to function is it due to the kernel, driver or something else ... Can somebody here that can share your experience with me i want to tweak the build my self if i know where to started thanks .
Well the current Gingerbread builds are based off of the SDK tools that were released to developers. And normal builds for HD2 are either based off of Desire HD, Desire, or Nexus One (There are others but these are the main ones.). So since an actual Nexus One Gingerbread rom has not been ripped yet and ported, you don't have the camcorder function working.

Thanks for the feedback so that's mean no way around can make the camcorder working until the actual Gingerbread rom has posted.

It's very, very, very, highly unlikely, but Google are pretty good. You shouldn't be waiting too long.

Android Final release?

Greetings over there,
after testing some Androids on my hd2 and recognizing that NAND Flash is now available it would be nice to know if there is an bugfree reliable release out worth to flash and long term trust in. Actually I use Froyo HD adaption from Desire HD, and I really like it, if there wouldnt be a problem, making me sound very bad in phone calls to the other side which I just know from my first tested release which also was a froyo I think.
Thx for your hints,
Its a great resource over here!

Tytung's Nexus 1.9b release is VERY stable. He really puts a lot of effort into his builds. I havent had any issues and I have been using his builds for a while now...I think a lot of others will agree. It isnt sense though.
go over to the nand forum section and check the changelogs
but there is a desire z build in the sd forum section that is nand i liked it very much had no problems, just one reboot and perfect. i would check the desire z nand build out first cuz it is lighter and faster than hd builds

It seems very difficult to keep sight on which builds will be best for what you want. Isn't it amazing how many ROMs have been published in the past 12 days, and how many of those have been updated (some: multiple times) since their first presentation.
Personally I wouldn't mind if the number of releases would be halved, when the number of 'this or that is'nt working' reports would halve as well.....

You should take a look on this build, really..
But i like playing around with the phone, so i installed Gingerbread from mdj
For daily use i would use the Nexus 1.9b.

Exactly. You got the / my point!
It's relly amazing how much developement is done. But it becomes more and more difficult to decide for a build. I need to use a release for atleast a week to know if it is reliable enough. Some have instable internet, some bad speech quality, on some the cam hung up... and I started to test in october, when most major bugs were fixed.
Maybe some review / documentation / moderation is needed. Is there an easy way to make a poll where everyone can insert release name and vote on some options like cam / i-net / phonequal. / speed overall / etc. ? I will have a look for smth. in this way.
I will give Tytung's Nexus 1.9b a try. As long as I just have to rename my old Android folder everything is fine. But that is also the biggest problem with NAND releases... you need to backup evereything instead of renaming, quite annoying if you get a bug that forces you to flash back (btw ).
For me the most important is a always working internet connection and good speech quality. (what else these phones are really made for)

[Q] Gingerbread 2.3.4 & Sense for HD2?

http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_desire_...gingerbread_on_16_may_in_the_uk-news-2638.php
The above article says that HTC Desire HD and Incredible S get Gingerbread on 16 May. Today is the 17th. Anybody got any news?
I'm sure these updates could help speed up the efforts to have a fully working version of Ginger-Sense for the HD2.
It's better to stick with your favorite Gingerbread Sense ROM for updates. If your favorite ROM thread is still support by the dev, he will surely upgrade his Sense build. Instead of making a thread that won't fasten his work. Give him a week or two after the official release date to update it in his thread.
I was asking because there's no Gingerbread Sense ROM that really works.
There are only 2 Sense ROMs that are Gingerbread based: imilka's Gingerbread Sense and RafDroid HD Gingerbread. Each of them has a long list of known issues and I assume they are made from bits and pieces of other Sense ROMs.
I assumed that having a Desire HD Ginger-ROM would stimulate other developers to get on board of similar projects.
I don't own a Desire HD so I don't know if the update has been released. I thought some of the people on this forum should know more on this issue.
I'm not trying to waste anyone's time, I was just asking a legitimate question.
PS: right now I'm running the same ROM that you are running.
of course there is no fully working one yet because the devs need access tothe source code and libraries used to be able to hack them to work on our hd2

Have tried some, the stablest are the roms with the Sense 2.1 lock screen or the 3.0 one without the app-links. Pictures from the camera are a little bit unsharp with less light, camcorder works in no rom. But Dungphp said, it was working nearly. If you can live without the camera, you will have no graphical glitches. Had often start problems of the sense launcher, after install or after some reboot's.
All problems should be solved if HTC will release the code of the desire gingerbread kernel (!not desire HD, this is already released but hardware is more different).
I will check today and let you know.
Yeah i tried a few Ginger sense builds and whilst they are good they are still way too buggy for everday use not to mention the camcorder issue not resolved so i wont be flashing any more until they are stable.
Forgot the only solution to record a video. "Videocam illusion" record video's in .mov format at our sense gingerbread rom's, but the quality is not so good.

+1, returned to stable froyo sense.
The stablest one was the sbryan12144 v0.2, no installation problem's and everthing working very fast. But the glitches and the bad camera and camcorder was 1 problem too much for me.

Yes, I know what they need to make the magic happen. I'm also a developer (C++/C#/SQL Windows software), and though I have little to no experience on Android software & ROMs, I know how hard they work for everything they do.
BTW HTC should kiss XDA's feet each and every morning. I got more support on this site than I ever got from HTC.
^^^it just so
