How to revert hd2 back to stock - HD2 General

I am on elegancia rom and i want to go back to stock because I am giving the phone back to tmobile so I was wondering how I would do that.

Go to t-mobile.com and look under the hd2 support section; there is a download section where you enter your IME number and it will allow you to install the latest T-Mobile stock Rom.

that will revert my hspl back to the regular spl

if you flash rom frmo sd card, yes.
if you flash via usb, no. then simply reverse the steps you did to put hspl on (run hspl and select your spl).

Click on the link to my sig and look at my other vids on youtube. Youll find exactly what your looking for.

Flash a different rom? hahaha i had to say it... If you are taking it to get it repaired or something, then run an RUU on it. Go to the evo rom wiki and you'll find the latest RUU

Help on putting HD2 back to factory stock

I have a HD2 that I would like to put back to stock. So is there a way to put everything to the way it was after it has been flashed with hspl? I need to send one of my HD2's back for internal(hardware) issues.
Either look around for the stock rom your phone came with or if you have a tmous hd2 you can go to the tmobile line and download the official update rom just by following the directions and run as you would any ROM load it will return your phone back to stock and you'll loose the HSPL
Thank u very much sir and yea I do have T-Mobile so this should be easy

[Q] Is there a pre-rooted rom for the MyTouch 3G?

Hi
Is there a pre-rooted rom for the MyTouch 3G? (the original version - without 3.5mm jack)
I'm looking for a file that i'll just have to copy to memory card, and flash it.
i prefer the latest version - but any of this are welcome.
Thanks
Ohhhhh... did you check the development section?
You need to root your phone and flash a recovery (I prefer Amon_ra Recovery) then you'll be able to flash a ROM. Please read the dev how-to threads or Cyanogen's wiki - it's not too difficult.

Yes, there is a flashable stock file for the orignal myTouch that is version 1.5. You have to flash it from the hboot. Then there are 5 update files that you'll flash from recovery to get you all the way back to stock 2.2.1. I've got all the files in a folder in my Megaupload account, but can't link since Megaupload is blocked here at work. I'll link it when I get home.
Thanks a lot, i'm looking for it.
Here you go. You only need the sappimg and update files. If you need help flashing let me know.

Hi
i have just flashed the sappimg to my MT3
But at the activation screen i don't see the activate over WiFi - like i was expect to see on a rooted rom.
Do i need to flash all five updates to get a rooted rom?
Thanks for any help.
Woah, that's completely different from what I thought you were talking about. I thought you just meant a stock ROM. Pre-root as in "before root". You can't do what your wanting to do. You'll have to activate and then root using one of the several guides out there, such as the "New school" one in my sig.

Do I need hspl???

Hiya guys well to the point I have a hd2 in my possession and I think the usb port is broke some how so i can't install anything that requires a pc.... I was informed I might b able 2 install a custum windows rom is this possible and any suggestions for possible roms any help appreciated

Yes you can flash custom ROMs via SD card but you still have to have HSPL flashed to your HD2 to be able to flash a custom ROM via SD card. Unfortunately you can only flash HSPL via USB and not SD card, so you can only flash stock ROMs on your HD2 unless you get the USB fixed. Sorry friend.
Thank you very much for the help at least I know now and I'm not gonna be wasting anymore time looking for solutions tink an unsolvable problem lol thanks again

You haven't said whether its a regular hd2 or a tmous. (Tmous has red and green end and send, regular all white)
If it's a regular, then a goldcard will let you use any stock rom, opening the options a little, if its a tmous, then goldcard is of no benefit and you can disregard this post.
Its a regular hd2 mate plain white buttons ....is there anything u can recommend as in basically I realise I'm never gonna have android inbed here but is any modded or custom rom possible I'm not gettin my hopes up tho

Not cooked roms but with a goldcard you can flash any stock rom meaning non branded (if the phone is branded) plus there are tons of tweaks and mods for winmo, go look up cookies home tab, you wont regret it! and as for android you can run it from SD card, no hspl required, , a very popular way.
Thanks for the tip gonna go look it up now

If you have the time and patience to tweak it you can get an android build running from SD almost as smoothly as a nand build, keep WM and have the best of both.

Unroot for warranty replacement

I was reading the threads for unrooting the mytouch and from what I read they only work if you rooted with gfree. I rooted via root.sh and I do have a nandroid of my stock rom. Anyone know how I would go about unrooting my phone? I am receiving a warranty replacement and I am very desperate. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

here are a couple links for you:
read this one first and make sure you are on the stock radio
use this method to unroot

Thanks for responding, but the unroot method you posted is the one I talked about in the op. The very first sentence in that thread says "will only work if you rooted via gfree" (not exact words but close). Which I did not root with gfree.

doh! my bad.... well the easiest way would be to flash the stock PD15IMG.zip in the bootloader. download this file here, name it PD15IMG and put it in the root of your SD. turn off the phone then boot into hboot(hold vol down+power button), the bootloader should automatically find the file then ask you to update. hit yes and and it should start flashing. make sure you are on the stock radio before doing this

Thanks. Do I have to be on a stock rom before flashing the PD15IMG file? Or can I be running any rom and just put the file on the root of my sd card and let it install? Will it automatically put the stock rom back on?

Figured it out. Everything is back to stock and surprisingly my phone is running smoother and faster than it has since I have been using custom roms.

@Towle- if youre on virtuous fusion with the updated radio, flash a different rom that doesnt require the radio. then revert to the stock radio, then you can go ahead and flash the stock PD15IMG in hboot. yes it will put the stock rom back on the phone and restore it back to factory conditions
@cabello80- radios can be found here
and no it will not change your hboot

BTW, theres also a zip file containing all the apps and files that were loaded stock on the SD card. download it, upzip it, and put it on an SD to really go back to stock

Those aren't included? It seems like I have all stock apps. So if I just leave it as it is right now is there any way tmobile can tell it was ever rooted?

If you're phone is running great then why are you needing a warranty exchange?

It's running great software wise. My power button and charging port barely work.
