You have HTC sync app that comes on the micro SD card with the phone and you can you this to sync media to your phone, alternatively you can plug the phone into your computer as a hard drive and manually copy files over

connect Evo to PC using supplied cable. mount SD Card as Hard Disk (this option available from pull down notification window). drag and drop. Files will need to be in formats the Evo can read though. On the Hero, I had to convert to .mp4 file
doubletwist app for evo and pc, will do all the work for you. formats and transfers, free and easy.
I appreciate the responses folks however since ive rooted my evo the normal sync capabilities dont seem to be available.

When you plug in your phone to your PC using the usb cable you get a option on your phone to Turn on USB storage. it then magically pops up your sdcards folder move your video files over to your sd card. when done on your phone hit turn off usb storage and its easy as that. use rockplayer for your avi files and system default player for mp4 files. if you need a conversion guide for BD movies use my quick handbrake guide.

Email works on a limited basis and file size, too
Wow when I saw this thread I just knew someone was gonna flame the OP, nice to see people being very helpful...

This is the best tutorial I have seen with free software for converting files for the EVO. I used it for BlueRay Avatar.
Then just drag the file to your SD card. If your having problems syncing, try taking out the SD card and use it in a media reader.

It would help to specify your method of rooting and what ROM you are running.
My Android collection of fones are as follows.
X10i, working on 1.6 with 4Gb of media.
X10i, not working, but with a duplicate copy of the 4Gb of Media from the first one.
My current weapon of choice is the Wildfire as it works like a trooper, so, when I recieved it, I swapped in the latter x10i's media card. I can access everything and works ok... Until connected to the pc.
When I connect the usb to transfer media, my Sony Ericsson software opens to read the card! LOL, so, how do you make the memory card HTC without formatting and re transferring etc... Easy solution required...
Have you installed HTC sync?

Uninstall the Sony erricson app and any Sony folders on the sd
Right, I will do that. HTC sync ignores the wildfire completely.
Just for information, on Mac OS X JPX now NO LONGER needs USB Debugging to interact with the phone.
Just plugged in my Galaxy S, without USB Debugging, and got the new Network Interface popup, and iPhoto launched in MTP mode, so you don't even need USB storage mode to work with iPhoto any more.
Goodness.
Is there nothing that JPX can't do ?
Thanks for the hint! I didn't even notice yet... SGS has become a decent smartphone! BTW I recommend SyncTwoFolders.app for syncing the iTunes Music folder onto the Galaxy S.
I use doubletwist on the mac, but I'm a bit ham strung with a 16gb micro sd. It just about.holds my music library. No space for photos and videos. Still, that's what internal sd is for, hm?

lol, same for me, 16gb card full with music.
Does doubletwist work for you? The last time i tried it failed already at doing a one way sync.
Excellent, that is good news. iphoto opening automatically & Mac recognition.
Looking forward to receiving the 2.2.1 update

Hi guys,
Just wanted to share this:
http://www.4shared.com/file/fqINIkaz/HTC_Sync_of_MacOS-30030.html (Uploaded by SquithyX from the Sensation Forum) ---> HTC Sync for Mac!
Was using doubletwist to sync my music and all onto my Desire HD but the lack of podcast subscriptions is annoying. HTC Sync was previously a windows only tool.
HTC has bundled HTC Mac Sync with the Rhyme and Sensation XL phones since launch (Oct/Nov) yet has not updated their website about this. As such, you can only get the Mac version here for now.
I can confirm that it works on Mac OSX 10.5 and greater and works with Desire HD. Make sure you have USB debugging on otherwise HTC Sync won't detect your phone.
Steps:
1) Install .dmg file
2) Run HTC Sync
3) Connect phone via USB (make sure USB debugging is ticked --> Settings>Applications>Development>USB Debugging must be checked. Just to be sure, untick and tick again)
4) When prompted with the USB Connection Type, select HTC Sync. (If not prompted, go to Settings>Connect to PC>Change option to Prompt when USB plugged in).
Hope it helps. It now syncs the following:
1) Music --> now syncs from itunes playlist
2) Gallery
3) Calendar
4) Bookmarks
5) People (contacts)
6) Document
P.S. I am using stock rom, 3.13.707.4, radio is the 12.65 variant.

cool. trying this now. I am using doubletwist airsync at the moment, but find the mac app to be buggy and slow.
Btw, does not work with desire HD
It definitely works with Desire HD...I am using a desire HD. It, of course, does not support non-sense roms.
will try it now !

It should work with all HTC stock roms on all HTC devices... Wonder why HTC doesn't have this on their website...only the PC version.
This is pull from sensation XL sd cards when they were bought.
how can you make htc sync for mac work with the htc one s?
HTC Sensation XE
Hello, It is not working with Sensation XE. No connection to the phone. Any idea?:crying:
Maybe you need an sd card? It doesnt work for my desire C it seems, and I have no sd card in it.
Hi guys. Is there a way to access via wifi files and folders of internal sd card to perform operations like the usb connection?
You can easily do it with this app.

thank you, very useful app. But I was searching for an app that let copy and paste from windows folders, that turns the phone in a wifi pen drive. Is it possible?
I just found my killer app! That's it! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nuriara.pendrive&hl=it
It works as an ftp server i think
