First of all, I apologise if this is meant to go in general, so mods can move it, and also if this has been asked before.
Anyway, I can't install Google Sky Maps, comes up with 'Unknown Error -18' and I can install Sense note widget either.
The thing that confuses me more is that I can install any app from CM6/Vanilla FroYo rom (Contacts, Car Home, Home Tips (br0 tips as it is on CM6) and even the CyanogenMod settings. Granted, I can only get to the CM settings via bettercut, and I don't think that most/any work, but still, its strange I can install it at all, right?
Just wondering if anyone has the reason for the strange behaviour.
Cheers

Well i know for a fact that the HTC Widgets like notes will not install on even a 2.1 eclair rom so that's why they still don't install on 2.2.
So its within the rom that allows the widget? I believe its included in LeeDroid.

That's strange it works for me. Have you ensured that it's actually installed? sometimes my market says it will install but it's never there.
Edit: sorry, I should read more carefully. Well I don't know what to tell you then. Try a different launcher maybe? I'm using zeam

Might want to address it on drews genius thread. He can probably figure something out.

Came across this thread but when i went to edit the keypad key 183 already said SEARCH. It was probably set to that for the sidkick app, which was the original search app on miui (i have it uninstalled). Does anyone know a way around this for the miui rom?
Reboot widget...
This is the only app I can find on that lets you reboot the iconia, instead of having to power down all the time!
If anyone knows of a better one great post it here.
Sorry it's not free, but tried a lot and this is the only one that works [ROOT NEEDED!]

How about this one. Its free and works on Iconia
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.siriusapplications.quickboot&feature=search_result
Normal version don't have widgets I think
have you tried toggle widgets like Switch Pro, extended controls, Power widget, Widgetsoid2.x (it's free).? I have extended controls here but if I try to use a reboot switch it force-closes.
I use Extended Controls:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.extendedcontrols&hl=en
It has a bunch of one click toggles.

Unreal, this is the first one I tried about two months ago and it didn't work!!!
Just downloaded it and now it does
Cheers...
Widgetsoid2.x
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.jim2&feature=related_apps
This free app works flawlessly. I shouldn't have spend money on Extended Controls. This one is so good and customizable! Reboot toggle in the widget also works!!!
p.s. Needs some time to configure but it is the best of its kind.
Try quick boot. Root needed, but no wipe for phone/tablet. Has Reboot, Recovery, Bootloader & Poweroff. Been using it for years and is very solid.
I use Widgetsoid as well. I have one widget for reboot, and one for reboot into recovery. You can customize the background, icon, color, etc.

Yeah another Quick Boot user here, both on my A500 and EVO
i tryed Widgetsoid2.x
it messed up my WiFi settings (using stock 4.10.42 kernel richardstrip o/c)*
had to uninstall it to make wifi work again.
switch pro works for rebooting but I think you might have to sideload it. Root is required.
Quickboot works great.

I have stock .42 and richardstrip kernel 2.5 as well as the most recent widgetsoids - no problems with wifi.
+1 for quick boot! It's on all my devices

For some odd reason I don't seem to be able to login to facebook with any of my Desire's Facebook Widgets. I've tried the GO launcher widget, the Colorize FB widget and now lastly the FriendStream widget.
They all worked previously, but then when I signed out of Facebook via the widget, I couldn't log back in anymore.
The weird thing is that the Facebook app itself works fine.
Any ideas...??
Have you tried throwing it at a wall???
Or force close it via app manager. Then see if that works...not sure if it would but always worth a shot

Well actually, I didn't use the search button
I had been looking for the solution for this problem for quite a while over the internet, and accidentally ran into this thread by Alex-V via another site.
