I've been hoping around from rom to rom and I can't seem to find a standanole one
I wonder if someone can make the stock toggle widget work for WiFi tether app.
There's one in the market i forgot the name of it. Its meant for aosp roms though.
Still 8pening from my supersonic on the xda app.
You can use Switch Pro from the market. It's a pay app, but It's pretty nice, well worth it imo. It's got a toggle for EVERYTHING !
Hey... This thing makes phone calls too!
Also, if you all ready have Tasker, you could easily build one however you like. Love the power of Tasker.

Without hijacking, I'm looking for a a Toggle for Wireless Tether - Found here
Can anyone suggest one?
I prefer extended controls has everything and customization is great plus it has 4g toggle and you can also put what size you want the widget but it costs 1 something witch is not much at all
Sent from my overclocked Cyanogenmod htc evolution 4g sucka
If you apply Calkulin's tether hack you can use the native hotspot app and its associated widget.

Yes, there is flashable zip with just the tethering fix. I can't link it now, but check his Sig and you should be able to find it.

You have to be on a deodexed rom.
Extended Controls if you want a whole power bar with customizations of every toggle. Beautiful Widgets has a standalone wifi toggle, and Wifi Manager has a widget that lets you toggle wifi and view your IP/network/signal strength.

Hi guys, I just got a Fascinate, and I was wondering if there's any way to disable EVDO data? I'm trying to see if I can save a little money by using the $15 150MB data plan and just using wifi all the time, but I can't find any options or apps to disable data for CDMA. I'm fine with rooting or installing custom ROMs if that's what it takes. Thanks!

For the Fascinate, the code is *#4636#1111#
You need to have the hidden menus enabled of course...
Juice Defender will do it, there's a toggle widget too
Hi guys,
I'm running a very stable Android build at the moment:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957652
and everything seems to be working almost flawlessly. I think the last thing I'm really looking for is something like this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=478519
It was the first app I always installed when updating my Windows 6.5 roms and basically what it allowed you to do was set parameters for when your data (3G connection) would remain active i.e you could set it to turn off 3G when the screen turned off or set it to only turn on 3G when apps were syncing etc.... Is there anything similar on Android? All I seem to find are apps that allow you to turn 3G on or off manually. Is there anything that can automate the process like WMLonglife did?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

APNdroid. Sense ROMs should have a toggle built in for you to turn on/off the data.
If your rom is based on CM7, you should use the power widget thats in there.

Thanks,
No Sense for me though. I only use native Android roms. Sense was great for WinMo but I've always liked the Android only experience. Thanks for the tip though.

Hi,
Thanks but, as I said in my OP, I was wondering if there is an app that will do it automatically when needed rather than you having to click data on/off every time you want to disconnect. I beleive UltimateJuice does something like this but I don't beleive it is compatible with Gingerbread yet. Any other ideas anyone?
Thanks
maybe timeout 3g? it disables 3g when screen is off. you can manually set time after 3g is disabled.
If you don't have Gingerbread, try DCSwitch app...
I think it's better than APNDroid.

Thanks, I use JuiceDefender already but it's not fully compatible with Gingerbread yet and can't control data (the paid for version). I'll check out Green Power though.
Nice one
So I've finally jumped in and taken a Froyo updated rom (latest Midnight rom.) I have a couple concerns though:
1. Wifi Tether - On 2.1 I used MobileAP for Infrastructure wifi tethering capabilities and 4g speeds. What is the standard to use with Froyo? What about USB tethering? I refuse to pay 40 bucks for something I'll rarely use, but should be able to when necessary. Any and all recommendations that will allow me to get USB and Wifi tethering, preferably at 4g speeds, are welcome.
2. SMS Program - On 2.1 I had the option to go into applications and "clear default" for messaging so I could set Handcent as my default messenger program whenever I clicked the messaging link on my homescreen dock. This option seems greyed out on 2.2. How can I change it so Handcent is my default? It's pretty annoying to have to go into the link to clear out the number of new messages recieved in both programs.
Thanks and I look forward to your responses.
For handcent, if your using touchwiz, open app drawer, hit menu>edit then drag Messaging out of the dock, and replace it with handcent. The reason its grayed out, is because handcent is still default. Hope this helps.
Sent from my always stock, EC05 Epic 4G
1. Wifi tether is the only infrastructure available on froyo
the are the 3.0.0 versions here: http://code.google.com/p/android-wi...mmary+Uploaded+ReleaseDate+Size+DownloadCount
They are experimental so make sure you have a backup either nandroid or inportant info and apps in titanium
u may have to try different pre versions as everyone has different needs depending on whether you epic likes a version better then someone elses or your rom likes certain things.
Another not about wifi tether on 4g start wifi tether in 3g first then switch on 4g
Wired tether can be found here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964925&highlight=wired+tether or on the code google site... u said you were on the midnight rom so you should have a compatible kernal with that
2.
To make a messaging service default: the easiest way is:
1. Goto contacts
2. select message
3. then select make defauly box when it ask you what service you want to use (stock or handcent)
4. Click handcent and you set
Hope this helps..
Very good information from both of you. I wasn't aware you could replace icons on the touchwiz drawer until you pointed it out, thanks! It's just too bad the Handcent icon won't show how many new messages I've recieved. That would be truly epic. Anybody know a way to do that?
And thanks for the links to wireless tether and wired tether. I've installed wireless tether, I'll try them out when I get home.
Nevermind, I just went with Launcher Pro instead of TW.

Hi
just wondering has anybody found an easy way to toggle between 2g and 3g on Villianrom? Found one here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739530 that works with Cyanogenmod, but can't get it to install on Villianrom.
Superpower???
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
There's tons of widgets doing this on the Market
Just trying Superpower now - looks like just the ticket. Green power and juice defender seem to be similar, but have had problems with them not turning data back on - found them to be more hassle than they were worth.
I had a look at a good few of the toggles on the market, but the ones I found tend to just open the relevant section of the settings, rather than actually changing the setting themselves.
Yeah, im looking for the same but cant find any that work, perhaps support could be coded into the kernal?
First, I've only had this phone for about a week and I love it So far everything just works. I'm coming from The Incredible, Rezound, Gs3, GS4. I'm not saying I don't miss root because I do. I miss Tasker, Xsposed, Wifi Hotspot Xposed Module, root explorer and safestrap (for the times I want to play with a rom).
Life without root
Tasker Sub - Smart Connect - I found a sweet little app called "Smart Connect" in the Google Play Store . https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonyericsson.extras.liveware&hl=en - Previously I would use takser to for certain conditions - example I would have tasker launch waze when I'm attached to my car Bluetooth. Smart connect does this along with many more option just like tasker.
Wifi Hotspot - I have unlimited data so the hotspot doesn't work for me - I searched and searched and can't find anything but PDA connect that works with USB tether - This is probably the main reason I miss root, especially on vacation with the family. IF ANYONE FINDS A BETTER WORK AROUND PLEASE POST! THANKS
Root explorer - It still works but without root you can't write to existing files. I always like the cloud storage tabs feature, you can add dropbox and other services as a tab and it all still works. Copy and paste still work. I use this a lot for Moto 360 watch faces. I download them to dropbox and then use Root explorer to move them to a folder that Watchface and Facer can use. Works Great!
Please list other work arounds here, I like to see what everyone else is doing.
Thanks
Hopefully this thread will be temporary!!
Have a great day!
You can replace stock equalizer with this one without root.
Bass boost and surround effects don't seem to work but everything else does and it works over Bluetooth audio.

Hello,

This app recommended by @LordBass is working great to add percentage to the battery icon on the notification drawer.

I'd avoid this app. It doesn't consistently work. Most times I was having to FC and restart the app to get any of the settings to actually work. It would work for a day and then I'd have to start the process all over again. Their customer support sucks too since It has been over 2 months since I sent them an email and no response.

What phone?
I don't have those issues (Moto Maxx on lollipop).
For me, surround and bass options do nothing, but everything else works.
Not the greatest eq, but for people without root that want to use something else than
stock audiofx might be helpful.

I'm on the Turbo. I can change to any EQ setting or try my own and nothing changes until I FC and restart the app. Then it will work for a bit until I go to change something again.
