considering you would have to go into a setting somewhere within the camera app to turn on the LED light what you are saying doesnt seem like much work.

My only grouse so far. I have disabled all led notifications but seems is not working. I still get to see the led flashing with emails , messages, n in charging mode
Is this a possible hardware issue
Is there any place I can edit the system files to disable it
Thanks

Is there a chance you have Light Flow installed? Well if you don't try installing it to see if it shuts off. Then uninstall it because Light flow has other issues right now;

Well try activating it to see if it fixes the problem. If hard reset doesn't fix it then it sounds like a possible hardware problem.

Hi all. I have been doing some searching around for a way to get the rear LED to light up in any way shape or form for apps, specifically SMS.
Has anyone found a way to get it on AT ALL using apps like Light Flow or Light Manager? Stock or a custom ROM? If you have gotten it on in anyway at all, please let me know! (And how you did it please)
I spent some time emailing with the LightFlow dev last night too, and he is interested in getting control over it too. So anything to get it on is great.
Thanks everyone!

In another thread it was stated that Flashnotification works (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manzy.flashnotification). I did not try it yet.

Just tried, same results.
I have it half on with this app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1958939
Working on full access. Ill keep everyone updated.
To use that app install it and enable it in accessibility. Then open the app and go to auto locate. Choose your LED here. "button-backlight1" is for the left, "button-backlight2" is for the right. It will probably just show you up to the word "button: though. But it appears twice, once on the left of the screen, once on the right. Choose either side. And that's it. It will flash when you get a notification.
Light flow works for me rooted on stock Rom. ...you have to enable it in settings then enable it in the setting for the specific notification You want. .. but now blink or pulse. ....tell the light flow dev to add this option to his app

I sent him an email about this a few minutes ago. But light flow also only lights up half of the ring, the right side to be specific. If you use the app I linked above you can get either half (left or right) working and it blinks!
Ill let you know any updates I get, but at least it is half blinking now!
Worked some more with the light flow dev. We have gotten the FULL led ring to light up! It is currently solid. Ill post more as it develops.
In the meantime here is a picture of my device, using lightflow, when I receive an SMS. Enjoy for now!

Yes, go to the app info to disable it.
I just installed Swift Installer from the Play Store and it's pretty nice.
