I want just the stock 2.13 TMUS ROM with the proper audio drivers from 2.10 so I can get rid of the Robotic Voice. I'll even try cooking it myself if I can find out the right info and what kitchen to use. Thanks everyone for their hard work on ROM builds.
I'm trying to do the same thing too.
From what I get, you should use the 2.10 SYS packages (though you really only need some audio-related DLLs, but you might as well just use the whole SYS packages so you don't bother with tweaking) and use the 2.13 EXT Packages. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.
I myself am trying to make a rom lighter than that, and have done so successfully to some level, however, I yet don't know how to 1. customize manilla to remove the tabs I don't want and 2. customize the build to determine the initial install (default start menu folders/apps etc).
Some insight would help.
I've looked at both these tutorials but none cover what i'm looking for, the irony is that whenever I ask, I'm directed by others to those tutorials....

Thank you. That's a lot more info than I was able to find searching. Hopefully there is someone who can offer even more insight.
Well I just made a 2.10 Rom with most the Stupid Transformers, and games that I don't even have on my sd card removed and a few apps. It seems to be fine. I really did like 2.13 Stock though, if I could get it to work with andriod.
I'm in the same boat I had a custom rom but I went back to the new stock t-mobile rom since it seem more stable and ow the Android calling feature doesnt work. any one found an android build that works on the stock t-mobile rom?
Roms that work with stock T-mobile
It's a number of new rom that work with the stock rom from T-mobile. I have the stock rom and with the new kernels these are some of the ones that worked for me. I using a totally stock HD2.
1. Mattc Leo + Froyo w/Sense 1.8
2. Build/30.08.2010/*Subcraft 1.5*CM6 Final/Kernel; ElBartoMe 2.6.32.9 #1
No robotic voice or SOD. I ran these builds for 30 days with no problems.
Hi guys
Received a sms message from T-mobile announcing the official release of ROM update. Check out the Tmobile HD2 site.
Edit:
Installed the update; found nothing new or exciting and now reverting back to Kumar's TMHD2 Touch Premium 2.9 WWE
For those who have flashed 2.08.HSPL to use unofficial ROMs, if you install the official release by USB your 2.08 HSPL will still be intact after the upgrade and you can go back to other ROMs with out any problem. That's what I did by reverting back to Kumar's ROM.

I am curious too about what it is for, it would be cool if it was Windows 7.
I am running Energy Rom, and Radio 2.15.50.14, so I am assuming updating would be a bad idea.
I just got the sms message too - I'm downloading it right now from the t-mobile website.
Figures - I just put a different ROM on my phone - yesterday! hahaha
i wonder why i didnt get a text, maybe because i was in android?
anyways how is it?

Still no multitouch keyboard. Is this not possible with WM6.5? I just can't understand why, almost a year after initial release, HTC has not released a multitouch keyboard for WM6.5 on the HD2. Iphone and Android have had it forever, and it makes SUCH A BIG difference!

As so many forum members have said, perhaps for a million times, ROM preference is really an art of matching ones individual needs; I have been testing several ROMs, Energy, Kumar's, Omega etc. and currently find Kumar's ROM meeting my needs. To me Kumar's ROMs seem stable and do not have many programs that the chefs generally tend to add to their custom ROMs. I like my system to be as minimum and as stable as possible so that I can add and customize it as I want.
So the best thing is to try couple of Custom ROMs and see if you feel comfortable with the version of ROM you have installed.
Also, the latest version of ROM (both Official, Custom) are generally less buggy.
For those of us who do not want to go for the custom ROMs, I guess today's official release from T-mobile should be the one we should be upgrading to. T-mobile must have ironed out previous noted bugs in this new upgarde. For the brief moments that I played with the official new release; everything was smooth and working. But as I said earlier, I have now reverted back to Kumar's ROM.
It appears that today's 'Official" release is the same as the leaked release from a couple of weeks ago.
The size of the RUU_signed.nbh is exactly the same size. The date is different but I doubt that means anything significant.
I never got any text from tmo. :-(
after attempting the update, I get 7 vibrations in a row at the tmo boot screen and then it freezes. Anyone else have this issue?
Just installed, took like 3 mins and it runs ok, they added new icons: amazon Mp3, Myaccount, Shazam and T-Mobile Help... my account and t-help icons are useless they dont do anything, still testing, i saw some improvements like faster reading from memory, now when i insert the sd card with a bunch of images, videos and music it takes less time reading them, the only issue that i got was that im unable to run android cuz it gets a weird screen and it does nothing, but if i get some problem i'll post it ok? thx!
what does the update even do?

- Browsing Facebook photos is slow
- White screen while browsing the internet
- Cannot delete GMAIL messages from the preview screen
- SMS sends to the wrong person
- Twitter errors
- Cannot unlock the phone
- Cannot unlock the phone with the correct password
- No space bar on company directory keyboard
- Can’t hear Visual Voicemails
- Speakerphone stops working after using the Call Assist app to call 611

I just updated to 2.13 the other day, and I put a custom ROM on my phone that I really really like alot since my phone seems to respond better to this one with no small lag. I have a question though, if I update to 3.14 will I loose the ability to put the custom ROM back on the phone or is it safe to update and put the custom ROM back in?
hi,
I have stock ROM 2.13.531.1
i recently installed HSPL3 and radio 2.15.50.14
now my quuestion is will i be able to install the new ROM without any problem? i dont want to brick my phone. Also will i be able to install the same radio 2.15.50.14 after installing the new stock ROM.
Hopefully htc have fixed the sms bug coz everytime i get a new sms my whole phone freezes for like 5 sec. and its really killing me.
thanks guys
Hi there,
I just rooted my 2.1 Eclair phone to Froyo's 2.2.1. Although I love how its made my phone faster its missing some basic features like the camera not working, (which is useless to me because i am always takin pics on my phone) and not having the ability to import contacts from SIM. Am guessing theres other things that make this Rom uncomplete compaired to the official release. Anyways am not here to complain. My question is, Is there a Eclair 2.1 rom that is customizable just like any other custom Rom out there ? I want the rom to be the same as the official release but just with the ability to download custom software basically...or if anyone can suggest a rom that retains all features like camera and import to sim....
sorry for the long request but once I know then I guess I know what choices I have.....thanks !
All Froyo builds, or most of them that i know of, have a camera working, don't know what is wrong with yours =/
Try Floyo or VillainRom, they surely have camera working.
Now if you want to go back to sense, there's a 2.2 Sense version flying around here (sorry don't know the name), and we even have 2.1's still about. There aren't that many Roms around anymore, so you can easily help yourself around. Just look in this section, and the thread titles should be fairly descriptive, along with the first post in each rom's thread.
Well I did try the latest Froyo, it was the special edition version and the camera didn't work. I then tried the stock version and the camera worked but I still had import to sim problems. There are a lot of Sense and non Sense roms out there, someone made a list and i've had a look at it so will try one of them. Thanks for the reply !
P.S. What in your opinion is the most stable rom out there for 2.1 ?
Floyo, FroydVillain, and elelinux's ROMs all have reputations for being quite stable. There may be others. I'm running Floyo and it's been totally solid and speedy, with rocking battery life. And everything works.
EDIT: Oops, sorry you asked for 2.1. The above ROMs that I listed are all 2.2.1. I've no idea about 2.1, sorry!
VanillaEclair has everything working, search for it on the board..
Ok, I have a Branded ATT Aria, non rooted.
I want know the pro's cons' of rooting, or even flashing a new rom, the risks, and if it's possible to take me ADW launcher settings/wallpaper/widgets/apps and back them up to a file, to restore once rooted/re-rommed\?
I love my setup now, just want more memory, faster snappier response, and no more att apps.
I flashed my HTC Pure (att branded) unlocked it to any carrier, and rommed with
HTC-Topaz Upgraded CR192 Mozart
Windows 6.5 Proffesional
CE OS 5.2.21685 (Build 21685.5.3.10) Beta
Processor: MSM7201A-528MHZ
Ram: 288 MB
Flash Mem: 512
DatBus:32 bits
Storage:247.71MB
res: 480X800
I turn off sense 2.5, I run SPB Mobile Shell 3.5.5, which is laggy.
I run XD Android on it, FROX4 (after turning mobile shell off)
and Android seems to run faster/smoother, but with some serious bugs.
(I.e no camera, call in/out issues, not recognizing SD card, etc etc etc)
How come my Winmo Phone runs android on top of al that smoother than the base program? And why can I get Froyo on a WINMO device and not my dedicated android phone?
Why why why why why why does ATT stick their hands into EVERYTHING?!?!?!
Also resource for a free carrier unlock code for my aria? Had to lie about over sea's traveling to get the one for my Pure, I'm sure ATT only buys that one once in a while...
How Can I get my Aria to Run, Either a newer version of android (preferably Froyo/gingerbread)

It all starts with rooting your phone. BTW, the act of rooting your phone will not wipe out any settings or programs you have installed on the stock ROM. It just provides the ability for some programs to run at an elevated privilege to access the phone. Once you are rooted, you can download and use my My Backup Root to save your ADW settings and installed apps so that you can restore them when you flash a new ROM.

Once you are rooted you have 2 flavors of Froyo that you can install on your Aria. The Liberated Aria ROM is the HTC Sense version of Froyo 2.2 but does not contain any of the AT&T bloatware. This ROM was created from the European version of the Aria (Gratia). Your second choice is CyanogenMod (CM) 6.1 which is based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and is pretty much pure Android 2.2 and what you will find on the Nexus One with some enhancements. The CM series is also developing CM 7 which is AOSP Gingerbread, so you will also have that to look forward to.
the devs of this forum have made rooting your phone as safe and easy as possible.
you can get an app that can back up your programs, such as titanium backup.
as far as rooting your aria goes, start here. after that, simply choose your favorite rom (from your post, i take it you enjoy the htc sense flavor of android, so i would suggest this rom.
good luck.
Okay,
Heres where I'm at, I want to root my aria (I know I haven't gotten the balls up yet) But I also don't want to do anything I can't reverse. And while it might seem easy to some, they probably don't bake like a pastry chef.
I do enjoy the sense UI, however I also really like ADW, which is very clean. I like clean and easy to change. I wanna try ADWex however I cannot justify buying it if I don't like it as much, and my aria cant run it smoothly. I feel like I never know if my aria is running to full potential with all that ATT bs, bloatware, and Sense(and htc devout programs) seem to have, a persistance inside the system.
So rooting my Aria will ne needed to get it up to speed, freeing up a load of memory, and CPU usage. Right?
Two: Can I really root, XD android? Thats loaded onto my winmo pure? I'm not really sure if I understand fully how that works. If I'm mistaken and it is already, then nvm.
Also Is there a real way to turn off windows before booting on android and how do I make it boot xdandroid from being off?
Are live wallpapers able to be used on either my aria or pure with xd android?
Can't make it happen on my own tried a few things but nothing seems to make them show up to use, in the wallpaper option of adw(both) or sense(aria)
Thanks for all your help so far!
Edit: Would Z4 work on xdandroid?
Any help on the live wallpaper? With just the cooked rom, running sense 2.5 (can't remember the name of the rom right off.. something from here at xda, think its an energy rom.) I can run live wallpapers, however I cannot seem to get one to run in spb mobile shell or in xdandroid, why?
Hi guys, I'm pretty much a newbie to this all and was wondering if anyone could help me get my HD2 back to its original settings of being on WM6.5.
I recently upgraded it to 2.2 by NAND ( no idea what that means) but I was successful on getting it up and running on android.
Im now trying to be more adventurous and see if I can boot the rom to 4.4 but just for safe measures, I'd like to know how I can get the system back. Also if anyone can post the links of what Id need to download to get it to 4.4 and how I need to do that from 2.2 would be great. I don't know if I could just upload another android version on top of the 2.2 or if I would have to remove that first.
Thank you in advance

In future search before posting. To flash a higher version of Android (although 4.4 doesn't exist yet and probably never will) check out the guide in my sig. To flash a stock ROM just download one from the HTC website and flash the RUU in the bootloader.
I tried looking for previous posts that would hep, but this stuff is completely going over my head and I am still determined to get my HTC on an upgraded android version. What android version would you recommend? anything more up-to-date than 2.2 would be great (with everything working, I have read posts where some people have had problems with the camera not working)
I have had a look on the HTC website and they no longer support HD2 :-/ How can I restore it? *confused* I'm a complete newbie and a noob, yup both, but I will not be giving up
Further guidance would be great.
I think a JB ROM would be good if you want functionality and the latest version. If you want stability then 2.3 is probably best. The only real solution is to try a few ROMs out and see what you like best.
