So 3g used to work here and there but it always searched for 3g signal. After update I have not been able to use 3g nor do I know where to find option to turn it on.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Please forgive me if this has already been covered but I tried searching for a while and had no luck on the issues.
First, I'm having trouble hooking up to routers but can hook up to my buddies phone when he is tethering. It didn't do this before but just recently. I flashed Sparksmod Rom and still had the issue, then tried the Gingerbread CM7 and still can't hook up. It says obtaining ip address then just cycles.
Second, I got a 4G phone hoping I would get better service at my work, but it doesn't seem like the signal will penetrate through most buildings, but my buddy has Sprint and gets 3G and 4G. I realize this is a different band but after I saw the data throttling hack I didn't know if I had a chance.
I would greatly appreciate any input, and will remove this post if anybody directs me to the issue post elsewhere.

if i remember right data throttling was for those who received a message from tmobile saying they used to much data and i think tmo's 4g isnt so great right now depending on where you are, i get 4g sometimes and sometimes its just 3g. and about the routers i recommend trying to restart the router or manually add the router. good luck on fixing your problem
One of the best things about Tmo is that they offer wifi calling for free, but obviously that won't work if you can't connect to wifi. If you can't get wifi working you should revert back to stock and do a warranty exchange.

are you overclocked? you may need to apply the wifi fix if you are.
The overclock I'm running is packed in the rom. (Gingerbread cm7) Ill try to search the wifi fix thread. Thanks much!

Now I'm pretty sure this will be fixxed by flashing a gb radio but idk which one or where to find it but when I type *#*#4636#*#* it says I'm on wcdma so I'm like 99% positive but if I'm wrong can someone point me in the right direction

If that doesn't work, do what I did and search for "radio" in the development section. You don't even have to be signed in to do it.
I'm not gonna see which one is the latest, but there's only 4 threads so it shouldn't be too much of a hassle to determine when they came out.
Hope a new radio fixes your issue.

I'm pretty sure that IS the newest.
I'll have to get my slide back and check, but as far as I remember that should be the one. What makes you think it's not the newest? Because it didn't fix the problem?

Slide Radios Link
Well right now 7.15 is the latest radio for the Slide. I've been using it for a while now...I did the *#*#4636#*#* test and my phone was set to CDMA but you can change that to from the menu it provides in those settings. What kind of problem(s) are you having with it?

Your radio could be broke... Maybe.
My friend's G1 wouldn't let him get on 3G and when trying to switch, it would just go back to the same setting.
This could be a dumb solution too... Try a new sim card? Or just try someone's who has the same provider.
hello, im new to the xda community and android and i was hoping i could get help if possible so i bought this atrix off a friend for $60 just to start getting into android, so the problem is that when i insert a sim card and the bars are crossed out. i tried reflashing the baseband/radio to newer ones but the problem persists and keeps saying out of service under settings-> about phone-> status. also under network type says unknows, so i was hoping it has a fix which for the price i payed for i like it as a media player but im also looking to use the hspa+ speeds. yesterday i did get 1 bar and carrier name but for only 1-2 seconds.
edit: im trying to use it on at&t (forgot to mention the carrier)

im using at&t
go to settings-wireless-mobile-networks
access point names push the four squares button on the bottom left reset to default and choose hspa+
this is a flashable apn.ziphttp://db.tt/C0OdFBWr reset apns to default afterward and try to reinsert sim and power up
I'll try this tomorrow since im not near a computer right now and i'll post the results.

I have a very week signal at home, and I see the same screen like yours
so make sure you have a strong signal before you determine it's a h/w issue
thanks for all your guy's help, i ended up giving the phone to my brother so he can use as a media player. i really liked the phone so im probably going to get a working one

Anyone experiencing this? Sometimes ill be on the internet for an hour then randomly my signal will drop and after a minute or so it will come back. Also if I haven't used my phone for awhile and right when I'm about to Google something the internet cuts off then comes back a minute later.
Im trying to figure out if its my phone or T-Mobile fault. Its not roms or radios because Ive tried a few different ones.

The op may not have answered his own question. I have similar issues with my phone. Found a few little glitches with how my phone reacts to firmware. I need to write up my findings in a new thread. Pretty interesting stuff. I had a big issue that I was able to fix and it may work for a bunch more people too.

I domt think so, i have noticed, with stock, i get a strong 4g signal. BUt when i switch to different roms, the signal fluctuates.
I have tried: Darkside, creamed glacier, cm7, virtuous unity affinity quattro
Dclaw please share your findings!
Btw my gf also has a mytouch 4g but its stock unrooted and has the same problems as me.

Happens to me quite often. I'm running the latest radio and I think that's the problem for me. It never happened with the previous radio it had. Reason I haven't messed with it is because it works great in the city and I'm always on wifi at home. It bugs me because I send a text and signal drops to 0, "message not sent, will resend when data services are available." back to 3 bars, then resends.

I have the Panache here in Canada through Mobilicity, basically the same phone with a different name, and this is a known issue with the entire batch they sold. I'm pretty sure it's a phone issue on HTC's part that doesn't seem to have a fix for it. I can't remember what the reason was exactly but google Panache no signal or something like that and you should be able to find it.

"dclaw_fantum" said he found a suggestions for that, but what is it? I am with Mobilicity (Canada) too and I have the same issue with my phone (also the panache). My friend is also with mobilicity but has a different phone and not any problem like this. It is strange because I am having full reception and it just turns of... totally. At least there should be a GSM signal or WCDMA signal, but it just turns off. Sad that HTC is not trying to fix this, as it seems an issue for a lot of people. Greetings.
It has to do with your Rom that your using or Radio either or can be your problem.

MyTouch 4G with Wind here. Same issue.
Tried 3 different radios and 2 stock and one custom rom and I have the same problems.
I've been leaning towards the problem being a combination of the radio and the rom and how they interact with each other rather than just one of them as it doesn't seem to make any difference what combination of the two you use.
I'm not a developer though, so I might be way off...

Hi everyone, i have searched for fix for my problem but without any luck. My problem is, tethering works without problem, good connectivity and so but it keep disconnects every one hour. I don't know whats wrong. I need it unlimited but dont know how do make it. Im using usb tethering, dont have internet on my PC but so I using friends and with his WiFi I making tethering conn. for my PC, I dont use mobile data for that.
