Good evening
Yesterday I updated my Galaxy to 2.2 JPO build. Since then I have been experiencing problem with alarm clock.
Here is what is wrong:
1. I set an alarm.
2. I plug a charger or a usb cable.
3. Phone vibrates for a second then screen goes black.
Screen does not respond untill I unplug the charger or usb cable. I tried both hard resetting my phone and reflashing. None helps.
This problem only occurs when the alarm clock is active.
Can anyone help me?
Really no one had this issue?
I tried several things. I removed external SD, formatted internal SD, I tried a different alarm clock from the Market. Nothing helps. Everytime I plug a charger when the alarm clock is on my phone freezes.
Problem with alarm
Hello
You forget to tell you have set language for Polish. Change language for English and problem disappear.
Best regards
Grzmilu
no problem on my phone, i always leave it plugged in
and the alarms works to wake me up in the morning.
it would be really interesting if the bug was due the polish language as Grzmilu pointed out
I was wondering if the Polish comment is a poor attempt at a joke...

I know there was a thread for this a while back as I read it when searching for something else. Now I can't find that thread (the search function in forums is never great!) but I suddenly have a huge problem with the built in Alarm function on my Wizard...
I've had a few issues before where when the phone is charging overnight it soft resets by itself and then sticks on the initial O2 screen. In the morning, I disconnect the phone from the charger and the phone then boots, I enter the password and the alarm goes off (usually later than the time I set it for). This is annoying but I can live with it.
However, this morning I had HUGE problems. It did the same as usual, phone was stuck on O2 initial screen so i unplugged the charger and the phone began to boot. I entered my password and the alarm started to go off but I was unable to switch it off at all. It does not come up with 'Notification' in bottom left of the screen like it normally does when the alarm goes off. It just kept going off even when I unset the alarm. I did a soft reboot but the same thing happened again. Also, the right-hand light at the top was orange even when the charger was not connected so the phone seems to think it is charging when it isn't.
I have managed to get it to stop thinking its charging by enabling wifi for a few minutes whilst charger is connected, then disabling wifi and disconnecting charger. But, every time I soft reset, the alarm starts going off and wont stop and the orange light comes back (while not not connected to charger). Also, none of my calendar items are reminding me 15 mins before the appointment like they normally do.
Is there anything I can do? I really don't want to hard reset if possible and certainly not just to stop the alarm! I am using Molski's latest 30Mb free WWE ROM. There isn't much installed, just PocketMax PhoneAlarm (great app!), TCPMP, handy Switcher, OMAP and OMAP+, Resco file explorer and Salling clicker. But I have had these apps for a while now. There is also SoftKey which appeared after upgrading ROM and I have changed my left button (directly above the call connect button) to Notes, perhaps this is why the Notification does not come up?
It is so embarrassing that a £400 phone cannot do something so basic as waking you up at the right time
I know a lot of people have had this problem with WM5 but has a fix ever been identified? Sorry about the huge post btw but any advice would be hugely appreciated
I'd say try reflashing that ROM or try another ROM...
The $400 phone was designed to work with the ROM from the manufacturer and MO that it was sold under... If the problem still persists under those circumstances than the problem is most likely hardware related and you should be seeking a warranty repair (if that option is avalible to you). Although, you were made aware when you loaded the cooked ROM that it could cause you problems and voids any warranty.
I had the problem (although not as severe as today) when I was using the default ROM that was installed from the phone company...
Also, from the last thread about this it seems a large number of people with different ROMS/devices have had the problem...I'll reflash if I have to but I'll try a hard reset first....
try removing phone alarm and see how it will now behave.
Read my post in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=275189
Thanks meschle, I think it's fixed, I had to soft reset then delete the notifications several times, but now it has stopped sounding the alarm every time I soft reset...
Saved me a hard-reset - much appreciated
on my Tytn it says "Clearing Duplicate Events Processing 67 of 66 events" and basically stays like that.
Any ideas?

Hi it froze - try deleting the duplicate notifications one by one (click on the notification in question) or try trial version of memaid http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=14279
i have very strange issue with my SPV M5000, try to describe:
last evening i went to sleep with 98% battery of my Uni, morning buzzer was not ringig, i didn't notice that untill i wanted to start my device and see that battery is drain to 8-9% and this stupid high noizzy sound comes from Uni that battery is very low, so, i thought that maybe i have forgotten wifi or something like that, than after comming to work i connected device to computer, everything was allright, syncing without problem, i left uni connected untill green light of full battery appeared, so after that i open screen trying to delete some missed calls and read some SMS and tried to make a call but uni freezed, and from this point i didn't start it normaly, i've flashed almost all of ROM's found here, but sometimes it didn't start either, sometimes it stuck in splash screen, sometimes it freezes after booting system, strange is that ones when it started it signaled that battery is empty again
common WTF is that, i have uni for 1 year and never, never had this strange behaviour
thanx in advance for any solution how to solve this problem
last flashed ROM is Helmi's 3.5 b1.3.1
Radio 1.14.10
PS> sorry for my english, i hope you understood
your basic english is a lot more understandable than others' basic english :¬)

Please advise if any1 experience the above or any steps I can do.

The same thing happend to me yesterday, for the first time (I pulled out battery to reset it). I had a few random resets last few days, but I do use my legend for app development testing, so i'm not sure if i somehow provoked the problem.
Offtopic, but just looking at logcat output of a normally running Legend you get impression that there are a lot of unfinished stuff, especially HTC applications (news widget is terrible)
I'm also seeing the same random resets on my Legend. Not sure what when wrong. I have a bunch of apps installed but I don't know if this relates to any of them.
It happened again just now. Restarts on daily basis now
just make a hard reset
Ok. I did a hard rest. And i don't want to install any apps, let it run in vanilla flavor for 2-3 days and see if it happens again.
If it does, that means it must be caused by one of the apps installed before
I had some SOD's, but after a complete clean and reset to original setting, everything disappeared.
Maybe it was a problem coming from installed software...
clean reset, wiped out everything. reset after 15hrs of up time. i'm going to RMA this thing
Hi all - first post here...
I have not long had my first HTC handset - and I really like it, but nearly every day I get this 'SOD'...as described here.
I had to remove the battery to wake it up again only this morning.
I have noticed, that it only seems to do this when it can't recieve the weather data (under the HTC clock)? the handset never seems to hang etc while it has this data?
Have others seen this? Could it be a bug?
Why not bring all SOD threads to one?
As I see all SOD's are same on all devices.
There is bunch of symptoms but if you have sod than you are experiencing some or all of the symptoms.
General help is to hard reset few times than flash shipped ROM then hard reset again few times then flash your favorite custom ROM or leave shipped, and reset again few times. And finaly set network to GSM+AUTO in Phone band configuration. Or try to change SIM with another network operator.
All of this helped some people but there is many who did not solve the SOD with this nor anything else.
I know I am posting in more than one thread same thing and it is not double or triple or X posting it is just help request for people who could finaly understand what is problem and help us all.
Sory, and thanks in advance.
Weather is not problem on my device, I did try turn it off, disable auto update of everything .... no difference.
Even I leave it connected to USB and it have the internet connection all time and I do not have SOD, I have DIM of death screen dims not turn of and if I disconect it and pres power to go to stand by or to turn off screen I can not power on device until i pull battery out few times - 4 - 5 timesto be precise or sometimes even more.
I got a new replacement unit and it works fine since. I guess my old unit was really defective
Sent from my Legend using XDA App
I have had to have my handset replaced now. My SOD contiuned and then the Mic gave up and no-one could hear me in calls - made it unusable as a phone. I also had battrey issues where the phone wouldn't charge and the battery meter read wrong.
All seems fine with this replacement handset.....
This is unbelievable... ever since SPV, the trash alarm seems to be the factory hallmark. I got the following problem:
- The alarm works if and how and when it seems fit (skips, starts later, every now and then it works right)
- Every now and again, alarm going off completely trashes phone (starts with alarm-like vibration but no sound, then completely freezes phone, needs reset)
This is like a Voodoo curse... I know the problem to be around since the first SPV's... I think they built the factory on burial ground or something... anyone got a good charm for it?
Forgot to mention: problem came with stock Orange ROM, recently flashed
RUU_Mega_HTC_WWE_EastEurope_1.28.479.4_Radio_Signed_61.41t.25.31_3.48.25.27_Ship
same problem.
Hello all,
the weirdest thing started happening a few days ago...
first off, let me start off by saying that i am using the default alarm clock. i have already gone throgh the problem of the default alarm clock not going off from time to time... but i seem to have fixed this issue.
so... the other evening i told my girlfriend to lock my legend after she had been using it. the alarm clock was set (i have it set on "daily"). Ok, so morning comes and the alarm clock goes off. Then i realized something was wrong. The phone was turned off. In order to stop the alarm clock I first had to go through the standard procedure of entering the pin code etc. Then once the OS was loaded and all, there was no way to stop the alarm. So I had to shut the phone down again. As frustrating as it was, I though this was my or my girlfriends mistake, as one of us surely had to turn the phone off by mistake before we went to sleep. But this problem keeps on bugging me for the third morning now...
I am positive it's not me... it's the phone.
Has anyone else had the same problem on their legend/android based phone?
If so, does anyone have a solution to it? Before, the alarm clock worked just fine... now, for the last couple of days it seems it has a mind of it's own.
Thanks in advance,
jlasic
Another thing I should have probably mentioned... this happens when i have the phone plugged into the computer via usb cable. dont know if this is of any importance but i thought it would be best to let you guys know.
ps. the darn thing happened again this morning.
hope someone can help me out.
Hey there,
Not sure why it would cause the phone to shutdown, but I recently wondered why my alarm wasn't going off sometimes..it turned out that Task Killer was ending it..dunno if that helps, but thought I'd let you know .
