Bookmark locations? - Vibrant General

Where are the bookmarks located for the stock browser, opera and skyfire? I'm considering going from a 2.1 build to a 2.2 build and have heard that a titanium restore will not work from e to f. If that is the case I need to copy my bookmarks to my external sd card.
Thanks in advance

where is the current wallpaper stored?

I'm trying to find out where my current wallpaper is stored. I've looked through the files on both my phone and SD card, including the Photos file but don't see any sign of it. Any idea where it is stored?
system/media folder.

Thanks for your reply. Looked in system/media folder and all I have are the following folders:
android_audio
audio
bootanimation
None of these have a wallpaper file/photo in them.
Again, thanks so much for the help.
ok. i will check that out.

it depends on what ROM you are using.
on a sense rom (even a de sensitized) it would be under system/customize/recource. im still searching for this in vanilla.

Thanks for your reply and further investigation.
I'm not rooted and am running the stock 2.1 w/update 1 and the ota update.
I did look in the system/customize/resource folder and although there are all the htc wallpapers....no sign of the photo I'm using for my current wallpaper.
I may have deleted the current wallpaper from Photos....but the wallpaper is still active on my inc. I'm hoping that I can track the wallpaper down and then save it again.
Thanks again.

Hi to everyone, I would like to know if there is a way to download file from internet ( mediafire, etc) using the stock froyo browser.. it keeps. Saying me that the content cannot be managed by the browser. If I use dolphin hd everything works fine. But I want to use the default browser, so there is a solution? thanks in advance

Just download bytetornado in the market. Allows u to download any file extension using the stock browser, im using that..
Download astro file browser. It integrates into the stock browser giving you the ability to download anything.
Yeah i use Astro too. I can now download from rapidshare/megaupload .etc... and then use Astro to open them up. Good combo
Thanks to everyone... do you think that in 3.0 Rom will be implemented in stock browser the possibilities to download every kind of files?

Well, if you have a rooted N1, the stock browser in CM6 allows you to download any file type. I think Enom 2.11.x also does the same...
Stock CM6 recent nightly here, downloading files without any market file explorers.
Plus it's awesome. Serious.
My Custom ROM downloads any file as well. More info can be found here

[Q] New Froyo rom , does it auto put apps to SD

I have a question you know the new rom by gene poolie at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970272
I was wondering if it automatically transfers your app to the sd card or do I still need to manually adjust it

It looks like the HTC Froyo 2.2 implementation requires that you manually move your apps to the SD card. I don't see a setting to default to the SD card like they have in CM 6.1.1
thanks bud, that answers my question
An angry birds update auto installed to sd when originally it was on phone. I've manually moved others.

There are some apps that do it automatically. Angry birds is definitely one of them.

Downloading .zip files from the browser

Why can we not download .zip files on the new gingerbread leak? I want to try the new themes put out but having to always do it from a computer is quite tedious
Have you tried using a different browser such as dolphin or skyfire?
No I'm using the stock browser I don't really care for the alternates, I was able to do it on froyo. I flashed a lot of themes that way while I was at work
I just downloaded the TBH tether zip using the stock browser on rooted gb. Works fine for me.

hmmm that's weird then because I'm trying to download the gingercomb theme from media fire and it always says download unsuccessful, maybe it's just my browser

Yes you can backup your apk files with Root Explorer, but it will not have your apk data [i.e. app data link to the Market] with the backup, but would with Titanium Backup.

Titanium Backup.

Sorry guys maybe I should of explained a bit more I'm looking to buy some apps up to now only used free 1s but with flash different roms sometimes you need to full wipe and don't quite no how that would work after buying an app then wiping my phone
I assume (and may be wrong) that when I download an app from the market it downloads the apk file what I would like to do is then use root explorer to move the apk files to M/S then back them up to pc for safe keeps or does it not work like that and I just sound like a tool lol
If it is possible then where are the downloaded apks?
I don't want to use titanium backup as some people report problems while using the ARHD performance patch plus was under the impression that backing up apps then sometimes they course problems when installing on different base ie 2.2 to 2.3(gb) which hopefully won't be.to long away
Many thanks again

1, I used titanium backup in both froyo and gingerbread and have no problem. And trust me, titanium backup is extremely useful when it comes to flashing a new ROM that requires full wipe.
2,FYI, your downloaded apps are stored in /data/apps , copy them with root explorer.

Paid apps can always be downloaded again free of charge from the market after a wipe if that's what you are worried about..

That would happen if someone using Titanium were to choose Backup all use apps + system data, then after installing a different ROM using Titanium to restore the apps + system data, which of course would be form the other ROM, which would:-
course problems when installing on different base ie 2.2 to 2.3(gb) which hopefully won't be.to long away

Which is a user fault accidentally trying restoring the wrong data.
