I'm having issues with my G1 locking up. Often times after a period of a half hour of no use or so my phone won't wake up when I tap the power button. I'm forced to remove the battery, reinsert it, and then power it back on. Sometimes it won't even power on after removing the battery until I let it sit for a while.
This has been an issue on multiple roms, all of them stable builds by cyanogen from 1.5, 1.6, etc.
Has the battery gone bad? Is the processor burning up? Does anyone have any idea what the deal is?
Its been a few days and no responses so bump ttt.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You probably have so many widgets and tons of apps open in the background.
You should try another rom like Super-D or Enoms or one of the eclair roms.

I thought about that but it won't turn back on for a while after its crashed. Only after its been plugged in for a while, the red light eventually comes on like the battery has died only it hasn't. When it finally comes back on its 99% charged. I've spent the last half hour taking the battery out multiple times and attempting to power it back on.
Have you tried running Fix_Permissions.sh script? Have you tried a full factory reset? Unroot your phone and start over. If it runs fine with the current stock build, then re-root.
I have 2 hd2's ive been playing with DarkStone build on. They both run great but every time i download and install battery monitors or widgets from the market, i start to get the black screen of death and have to do battery pulls. I remove the apps and the phones run great again. No freezes!!
Ive ONLY been playing with these android builds for 2 days and i have tried several of those apps and ive figured this out. But durring my searches, i have heard nothing about these apps doing things like this.

I've got a similar issue. I like to use System Tray Monitor, and Advanced Task Manager, but both of them force close every time. I actually don't get a BSOD, but I do get FC's. They install no problem, but FC as soon as I attempt to open the app.
I haven't been able to figure out why. Hopefully DarkStone or another experienced Dev can look into this. At the very least have a battery widget or monitor would be nice to have running. Guess we'll just have to be patient, and hope that they are aware of the issue and find a way alleviate it.
Beautiful widgets run 100% CPU on my device

I have had a rooted epic for a few months now and have been experiencing a lot of software difficulties recently. I am using Epic Experience Froyo, but I have switched to other roms and still experience the problems (which I have researched but have yet to find a cure). I have times where the screen will turn black and unresponsive, yet the capacitive buttons at the bottom are still lit up, and it will either restart the phone at the lock screen and regain signal or I will have to manually take the battery out. Sometimes I get the same issue except the screen just freezes. Other times (even if the phone is idle in my pocket) it will randomly reboot and I can feel it vibrating in my pocket. I have done many full factory resets w/oden. Everytime I get the problem it seems to gradually get more severe.
I would love for any input to work towards a solution.
Thanks,
Dylan.
Sounds exactly like the problems I was experiencing with my Evo. Do you overclock your phone by any chance? Or have you ever installed lagfix applications?
I overclocked once for about 2 days @ 1.2ghz, but then reverted to regular. For a long time I had Juice Defender installed.

Ok, so as far as juice defender is concerned, what are its performance characteristics? Did you ever use quadrant to see what it was putting up? I doubt the overclock for such a short period of time is what would've caused so many problems, but from my experiences, any of these add ons that take your quadrant and almost double it are usually ones that can cause some permanent damage on the phone. I used to run what was called Snap Turbo which was a performance tweaking apk attached to a linked kernal that used to go well with CM6. Well, turbo mode does exactly what ViperSpeed lag fix does. As soon as I started messing around with the Snap Turbo, that's when my screen used to become unresponsive, phone used to freeze, and I would get random reboots almost 10x per day. After I started experiencing these issues, I could never revert back to another Rom or even go back to stock without getting the same issues. I ended up getting rid of that Evo and getting another. As soon as I rooted my next one, random reboots started but not as frequently. Basically, I believe that rooting your phone is going to cause SOME issues. Constantly messing around with it will result in A LOT of issues. It's almost unavoidable and some folks are lucky enough to never experience any issues, but that's the risk you take if you want all the benefits that come with hacking the phone. I hope you find a setup on your phone that isn't so unreliable but I doubt there's anything you can do to completely fix it. I hope I'm wrong, though, because anything you do to fix those issues would be a great help to us all if we end up in the same boat in the future...God forbid!
Juice Defender mainly just altered settings with the wireless connectivity (Like stopping it from using wireless network when the phone is idle). I've also thought about this... I am using 3 different batteries, 1 is default battery, and the other 2 are of a cheap $10 ebay set.
hey guys...i was getting great battery life on di18 and dk28 but for the last week its sucked i loss on average 8-10% an hour (setCPU at 200-1000 ondemand and 200-200 sreen off) i have calibrated my battery twice and still no luck as soon as i take it off the charger it drops to 95% any thing else i can try? thanks for the help
Before I get flamed I have read all the comments I can find on WP7 Rom battery tricks i.e. camera record after reboot trick, leaving 3g on etc. All Im asking is if other HD2 users are experiencing as little as 6-7 hours of battery life on WP7 roms, iv'e tried xbmod, HD20 and YukiXDA and have tried this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=978101.
Phone is hardly used, no phone calls just settings and odd text message and only wifi on when using phone.
I'm gutted because I love WP7, any advice appreciated and am not trying to "Noob" up the forums I just wanted to start a dialogue with other WP7 Rom users.
Thx
Nope, that´s not normal.
There are several possible reasons for your problem. MAGLDR, Radio ROM and SPL versions are crucial. Bad flashing can happen all the time. Plus, an "incompatible" SD card can bring a hell lot of issues, too, as well as an "old" SIM card.
Anyway - I can say that under WP7, I could not reach the same battery lifetime like under WinMo 6.5 - you can more compare to Android (NAND versions). Maximum 2 days at really low usage (week-ends), 1 day with "normal" workload. I could easily double that time under WinMo 6.5.
The HD2 likes battery like i like beer.....as much as possible in the shortest amount of time.
My phone and wifes phone (exact same phone + ROM) work for about 7 hours. ive tried many different tricks, radios, ROMs and no luck. luckily at home and work i have access to charging points, so not so much of a problem. just anooying when we go travelling!
Try latest YukiXDA Rom with 3G on. My phone lasted a day and night ( few calls, texts, games (including installing) Facebook etc. Much improved.
i'm using yuki's latest and mines dead in about 7 hours also (without even using it cos i have a company phone) but some have reported 2 days , i've got the battery tool and my current is usually around -250 sometimes higher before and after camera trick but some have reported 2ma ,, i'm sure i'm using the bat tool wrong lol . gigahurtz whats your current

As a first time phone rooter, I read for several days on end through this and other forums, acquiring the knowledge to hack my streak. I was finally ready and successfully put Gingerstreak 2.4.4 on my Dell Streak 5 from stock Rogers/Canada following all the recommended procedures. Yahoo!

It seemed to be fine at first, but got progressively worse. i.e., rebooting, freezing, choppy, sleep of death and huge battery drain issues. (the common problems) Then after a few days it was pretty much totally unreliable. I tried Green Power and a task killer app to no great avail. So I decided to put a more stable version on the phone. I had planned on putting the [ROM] [INTL] [WIP] DSC v0.62b on the phone and began to follow the great instructions in that post.
At some point I read it was required/recommended to move all my apps to the phone so I could keep them. I went ahead and did that and right away my phone stopped lagging. I waited a half day longer and no more rebooting issues. The battery would be at 60% or better by 5pm as opposed to almost dead. It's been 3 days now and it runs pretty darn snappy, solid and reliable. I do get a 4-5 minute SOD (sleep of death) after (some) disconnections from charging cable, but that seems to be it. I will now begin moving the apps back to the SD card (one or two a day) to see how it affects the operation of the unit.
Just thought someone would like to know...
Solved 99% of the WAIT/FC popups and 5-10 second freezes for me as well. I'm still on SimpleStreak 1.2 with PerfUpdate. Thanks brainsquishy!
Your welcome krazman325.
By the way...I put about 6 of my apps back onto the SD card to see what happened. It immediately began to act up again. Moved them back and I'm OK. I guess until someone has a fix for that, all my apps will have to stay off the SD card until I move to the DSC release.
Regards...
Awesome idea!
Fixed most of my issues (phone was freezing whenever I tried to install apps, but only a quick reboot to the boot image screen).
Thanks much!
I was hoping this would help, but even with half uninstalled and the other half moved to phone, I'm still getting freezes, restarts and now today (after working with no problems for about 24 hours, it's got into reboot cycle and won't recover).
I'm going to have to try another ROM as this clearly isn't working for my Streak.
Who'd think they could be so different?!
So which ROM is next best then?
