I am not sure if anyone else who updated via the Nordic release a few weeks ago and has now updated to the latest release both through Kies has checked but even though everything was changed to XEU during the reghack to install JPO it is still stuck on XEE after the flash. This means among other things we cannot enter UK Post Codes.
Would anyone know a way to solve this?
I think I've fixed mine by changing the sales code by entering
*#272*IMEI#
and then changing to XEU
Hope this is the right way of doing it.
I lost all my Settings/APPS after changing this.
Can anyone PLEASE confirm this will change the productcode? I have flashed three times already.

I changed with the *# code and I have Zip codes still. Doesn't bother me personally as I don't store addresses in my phone.
Plus side is, Kies recognises UK region now.

Well I am getting very brave (will be rooting soon if this goes on) and yes it seems to work. Now showing XEU in registry after clicking on firmware update.

i just checked Kies and it shows the JPM update for GT-I9000HKDMTL without test mode... for those who don`t want to use odin....
excellent news !
Nothing here. Norway.
So GT-I9000HKDMTL is different from normal GT-I9000?
Atleast my Kies doesn't show any updates.
My Kies shows also no update. I have this phone:
GT-I9000
I9000XXJM3
ECLAIR.XWJM6
It is no official release so is a update with kies possible?
usually each region will get their local releases at a different time
but if you want it "NOW" you can use the registry trick
So can anyone else confirm this one?
Is the JPM any good? Or just the same old bull**** that they have been pumping out lately.
false alarm, it cant be downloaded anymore, but it was there for a short time, maybe it was something with MTL operator....
please somebody lock the thread

According to samfirmware.com MTL = BULGARIA .
manniakk, can you please post your HIDSWVER
Hi folks,
Please let us know it the froyo update appears in your kies and nobody reported it from ypour country so far to make it possible for other (less and less patiently) waiting fellow SGSers to follow the progress of the update country by country. It would be a nice extra to also report your Product code (can be found by searching the registry starting at HKCU/Software/Samsung/Kies/DeviceDB for ProductCode)
Thanks in advance for everyone who cares enough to make easier the already too long waiting process for us.
Positive feedback(s) so far:
Sweden
Norway
Denmark
Finland
Iceland
UK O2 (?)
Germany
Netherlands
Please try to avoid "no update here" post if it's possible as they are only noise an make updating first post to reflect the current status a lot harder. Thanks.
Here you can find the info about how to fool your KIES to dowload the scandinavian update (thanks dakine)
I would also like to know this. I just wrote a post at Androinica about the update, so please feel free to share your comments there as well
Android 2.2 Froyo for Samsung Galaxy S has finally arrived
According to this post, it is Denmark, Norway, and Sweden confirmed so far.
Is there a way for us to manipulate Kies into downloading the update?
Ok I have found that Kies will now let me upgrade using the following:
ProductCode: XEE
HIDSWVER: I9000XXJF3/I9000SWC/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3
That's fine, but what your product code will be after the upgrade?
Not sure, that code is for Sweden.
I just realised I still have voodoo lagfix installed. Anyone know if this will cause problems?
Still nothing for Germany, checked few minutes ago.

Remove it to remain on the safe side.
In Finland Kies is also offering JP6, just tested.
Plugged phone in quickly this morning and was told i could upgrade got all the will wipe all data ect, unfortunately didn't have time to run the update, hoping it's froyo.
thats in the UK by the way on O2

You HAVE to disable it, the new firmware will not be able to recognize the EXT4 partitioning system! follow this guide on voodoo lagfix webpage:
http://project-voodoo.org/documentation
In this way you will revert back to RFS. As soon as voodoo lagfix will be ready for Froyo (not yet) you'll be able to install over the previous one that is still disabled.
I have just disabled it now.

Kiitos :-D
Finland, JF3, Kies .82, XEE, JP6 being now offered.
On the other hand and not a big suprise, my other SGS JM9 doesn't get updated, even if XEE.

How "cute"...
Not available yet to UK sim-free handset either.
Excuse me. If I update Kies with i9000, must I uninstall Lag Fix?
Just got round to connecting my UK unlocked and unbranded phones4u GS2 up to Kies on Windows.
I've got a message that a new firmware is available:
Current: "PDA:KDA /PHONE: KDF / CSC:KD1 (XEU)
Latest: "PDA:KDD / PHONE: KDH / CSC:KD1 (XEU)
I don't get anything when checking for updates on the phone itself. Has anyone else updated? Is it safe? What's the changes?
Phones4u had their SGSii stock earlier than anyone else and seems to have KDA firmware. Mine from O2 the other day already had KDD as default... not sure of the changes tbh!
I got my SGS II from Carphonewarehouse in London SIM FREE. The firmware I have after pressing *#1234# is
PDA I9100XWKDD
PHONE I9100XXKDH
CSC I9100XEUKD1
build info: Tue Apr 26 09:00:32 KST 2011
I got mine from p4u . And also just had the update notification . I have just done the update . Like other have said i cant see anything thats change .
Anyone got any ideas's what the difference is between the firmware ?
Anthony
Could this have anything to do with the GPS being off for some people? I noticed dk206 has an updated firmware and gets great GPS lock/accuracy.
Edit: Unless its great battery stats that dk206 gets? Seen that many different threads past few days...
Can one of you capture the firmware from the KIES cache when it's downloaded and post it up here?
I see KDF is available to download. Does this bring many changes?
no update available here.
mines P4U stock and on KDA
odd..
Diabolous, have you checked for updates on the SGS2 itself, or when connected to Kies?
My P4U bought one reported as up to date when checking in Settings > About Phone Check FOr Update, but the first time I hooked it up to Kies (yesterday) it flagged an update (KDD).
Can one of you guys using KIES go into your registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\DeviceDB\
Look for the number that correspond to your device and post the HIDSWVER key details and Product code details for me before doing the update.

Let me do this now for you. And just to clarify I haven't tested gps properly yet. I have decent battery life 20~24hrs better than sgs 17~20hrs with my normal day to day usage.
Also I did not update anything. I got my firmware like this straight outta the box frim cpw. But cpw has always usually put stock uk rom, for the original sgs anyways.

Cheers mate
This has killed my phone.
CPR is in progress. Transferring the firmware to my phone failed and now it won't boot. Avoid.
Update: It's alive! Samsung's emergency firmware recovery fixed it, and installed the new firmware in the process - without losing any data. Phew!
My Quadrant scores seem to be up a few hundred (3200 to 3500) but that could be the usual variation. I find Quadrant changes quite a bit between runs.
Ok so what I get from my regedit is
HIDSWVER
I9100XWKDD/I9100XEUKD1/I9100XXKDH/I9100XWKDD

I'm uploading it now. It's just a tar to flash as the PDA in odin without pit or partition needed to be done.
Ok i just plugged into Kies and got the notification for
PDA: KE7 / PHONE: KE4 / CSC: KD1 (XEU)
Does everyone have this update?
And has anyone figured out what this update fixes or adds?
Just so all the people who aren't sure what they getting or, potentially, losing have a better idea.
Also any ideas why the big skip in numbers between KE2 - KE7
Hmm, not showing up for me.

Odd... I am running the update right now while typing this...
You got the latest Kies intalled?
Possibly not and have to wait for my wife to stop playing Solitaire a minute before I can check. I'm pretty new to Android and Samsung. There definitely isn't a Kies for Mac is there? I can't find one
There is a Mac version on the following Samsung page.
http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/d...500BAAXEU&prd_mdl_name=GT-S8500&srchword=Wave
I don't know if it will work with the GS2.
It isn't working for me yet. Says I have the latest firmware version with KE2.
It is probably because my product code is FOP. Is there anyone without the XEU sales code getting the update with Kies yet?
And now, as with every update in the months/years to come, I'll install it hoping it fixes the banding issues on my screen, while audiophiles install it hoping it will improve sound quality...
And we'll probably see no difference at all

Not yet but there is no reason for it not to work.
So, here i am, proudly owning a Galaxy S4 i9505.
I'm not really new to flashing, cooking and such stuff since i owned my sensation for 3 days
So i rooted my S4, decided to try this Omega Rom. All seems to be fine, till now when i realised that the auto-rotation is broken.
It is active in settings and i tried multiple launchers (that crappy TouchWiz thing, Nova and ADW).
Yes i activated it also in the launchers settings but nothing happend.
Restarted, took out battery, waited for a couple of seconds, nothing.
Is it a problem with the rom or maybe something went wrong during the flash process or is my sensor broken?
I thought i ask before trying go back to stock.
And dont blame me for this crappy **** of english.
Ok it seems that no sensor is working at all

Ty for this app. This app didn't get something so i went back to stock.
And now i have the problem that every VD2 firmware just gets me The SIM CSC which is a provider from Slovenian. Just curios things going on there. (+ no Vodafone apps installed)
DTB working fine though...

I went back to stock and tried a couple of original VD2 firmwares for Germany.
The first 5 i tried were located to Slowenia with the CSC: SIM. Kies told me that.
So i couldnt get updates OTA and from Kies.
Then i simple debranded my phone, and flashed the DBT firmware. All was fine. Updates working.
I tried another Vodafone Rom and now i got the Vodafone apps and the CSC: DBT???
So no updates OTA and with Kies.
I need to fix this and go back to CSC: VD2 because a couple of sensors are broken (warranty).

I've got a problem quite similiar to you
havent tried to re up the ROM yet, and I dont think it's the problem from the hardware aspect

It is a problem of the hardware aspect at least with my phone.
I think i crashed it when i was drunk, so maybe check your right upper corner on collisions.
Samsung was in my case very friendly. New phone, no change of the sensors.
