HTC ELF doesn't turn on.
I was flashing my Elf with Micro-SD method and when it get to flashing BINFS the phone just turned off . No Orange Led, no boot-loader mode, no hard reset can be done with it...
What could be the problem??? Can anyone give an advice

I have got a bricked HTC ELF with a tri-colour screen.(red, green and blue). I did try matty.exe and found that cid is locked. g_cKeyCardSecurityLevel = FF
I dont have the original firmaware backed up. and could not find anywhere on this site and internet.

Problem? Sounds like you didn't have full battery when flashing, and now your phone is bricked.
If you have some interest in doing so, you can always try JTAGing (check my sig) and that should help. Fairly complex i guess though. The thread is a bit messy, but I wanted to keep it so people could track through the thought process of what I was doing, and then when help came from another member (bombom81) how we got it to work on his phone.

Can't start my elf0100 (HTC Touch)
I can see smart mobility, that's all.
I tried to unlock it with an other article here.
(ELF-USPL - after that the device is down)
So i tried to flash some different ROMs on it, but nothing changed.
Any idea? - Maybe SPL ROM zone gone?
I searched a little bit in the forum, but i don't find a solution - too many answers - nothing helps (Hard-Reset, Softreset, Flashing...)

I went to a store this evening in order to unlock my Polaris. The owner of the store has got a HTC herald with a problem that he wanted me to solve.
He tried to install another rom on his herald but, due to an unsuccessfull rom upgrading, the HTC is locked on a RGB screen (red green blue) with the only following indications:
RUU
IPL 1.08.0001
SPL 1.08.0001
USB (or nothing when not plugged)
Would you mind helping me? I tried several Roms, and there was only one that seemed to work (ROM HERALD_ smiley sWWE.gif _6.1.405.13_BUILD 20764.1.4.3): It gave me a progress bar on the HTC frozen at 0% while the upgrading tool on the pc told me that I needed a more recent upgrading tool.
What can I do?

Before installing cooked ROMs I believe the phone must be HardSPL'ed, and this can only be done if the SPL/IPL is 4 or above - any lower/not HardSPL'ed and the device will be bricked. The screen you are describing is the bootloader, and since you only have an IPL/SPL of 1.x I'm pretty sure you can't install custom ROMs. To unbrick the device, turn it onto the bootloader and then load the original HTC ROM that came with the device.

I tried several times to enter in bootloader, but it's impossible as it starts with the bootloader menu! I can't change anything about that, even by soft resets, reset+camera, reset+buttons...

As I am stucked with 1.08.0001 SPL, There is nothing to do. All the users who tried to unbrick their phone didn't got it working, except one who changed the motherboard for... 200$ ! The price of a used HTC Herald in very good conditions!

sorry to say sir but your ipl and spl should have been 4.0 or higher and also HardSPL'ed. i'm pretty sure your device is bricked. GL on finding a way to fix it or buying a new one. =D
Nounou7701, though you cannot flash a cooked ROM with IPL/SPL 1.x you can definitely flash the official ROM from HTC.

He didn't head the warning of the SPL requirements. You can easily revive it using the GoldCard method. (Search for the term "goldcard herald".)
HTC P4350 do not switch on after a bad SPL
I've tried to flash my Hera 100 P4350 with HardSPL Herald, but I got an error message it has switched off and I can't get my mobile switched on again.
It looks like completly dead (kaput).
Can anyone help me ? Or explain why that happened ?

IPL 1.08.0001
SPL 1.08.0001 screen but with no USB on the lower left corner of the screen
After arrived here what shoul I do to reinstall my P4350 ?

If it loaded 2% and restarted and shows the tricolour. You ARE CID locked.

Use that link. Do your research.
If you cannot do the GoldCard by PC. Borrow a friends WM phone and make the gold card out of that.

The gold card method is long, but proven successful for many people.
I agree with the GOLD CARD Method it have resolved many PDA to give life...
I updated the original ROM to wm 6.1, cause the old one was Spanish. After this it worked for 30 minutes, but then it made re-start every 5 minutes. Turned it off, but cannot turn it on again. The first screen with Vodafone comes up, then it shuts down again. I can enter bootloader tricolor mode, but there is no RUU on the right corner, just two version numbers on the left side. Please help! Tried soft and hard reset, didnt work.

and then flash with any good rom ( not official rom )

Hello everybody, with the risk of opening an already discussed thread, I am asking for your help regarding my HTC Elf (or Elfin?).
Initially I tried to change the language from Spanish to English, with the aid of some programs like ELF USPL. The first thing that appeared on the screen when my phone turned on was an Orange(TM) logo and it did not go further than that (it shut back off). After several tries with that program and other .nbh files, I even installed an Onyx release.
Now the phone has the same attitude as with the Orange(TM) logo, but now it appears "smart mobility" and then shuts back off. When I enter the boot screen: on the red colour it says IPL 1.14.0002 and SPL 1.14.0000 followed by green, blue and a little white on which states if the USB is connected.
Can you guide me to the solution, please?

You need to find your original Rom then cid unlock. Don't forget to click on the last link too.

Thank you for the directions. I've followed some of them and I am in this stage: I know my device ID: ELF010050 ORANG309, got the original ROM but the same 270 problem which pops up at 2% when the phone resets and then shuts down. My CID is locked and saw in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=320155 a program called enable-rapi but requires the phone to be on to install the files. Can you help me further, please?
To the best of my knowledge, if you really had Your original Rom it'd have successfully flashed. Any other one will meet the 270 or 2% error. Enable Rapi and the rest is valid before you flash a Rom, so my best advice is to try to find the appropriate one.
After countless tries to flash that ROM, I'm still getting the 2% error. But I've noticed that I can make the tricolor screen display RUU in the top right corner by removing the battery while 0% - 2% flashed and turning the phone back on. But it doesn't work this way either, error 270 still pops up.
At this stage, I'd try other Roms http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Elf_Upgrades

Try find your cid and device using the same link first and then flash
ELF010050 and ORANG309 are the CID and device, I've downloaded two seemingly original ROMs but I still get the 2% error. They were in Spanish like the original one but still didn't work.
