Its not just an app. Its an entire app of all fcree apps. That's what makes it so epic. I guess if you only get one wish, go big.
Op. The omarket app is just a tool to download from the site freewarepocketpc.net
Just go to the site and download the cabs and try to installv them! Lol...

Ok so here is the deal, 96.84% of WM apps are written with .Net, end of story.
There is no .net Library (that's functional or worth a damn) for Android. Your "Port" would be an entire rewrite from C#(usually) to Java which is "possible" but then you have to worry about all the apps inside of the market, all of those would have to be "ported" as well.
So the real solution is a good way to emulate a .net environment on Android. But even then all of the new WP7 stuff is written in silverlight which is a whole nother library to worry about...
See how many layers deep this goes?
And then the final piece of the pie is finding an android developer who gives 2 craps about any WinMo (cr)app or feature.
So dream big was a correct statement.
Thanks everyone for your input.

silverlight is a microsoft product, if microsoft doesnt choose to make a version for android then you are out of luck. what i would suggest is to vnc into a desktop and then watch the jerky unwatchable video through that =)
Funny, I'm still waiting for silverlight with full drm support for linux. Android was based off of linux. So all I can tell you is keep waiting for microsoft to port it over. BTW, no dev I know is going to touch a microsoft branded software.

Search on the market, there are lots of client + an official one from the VNC team. You install a server on your computer, configure the connection, and that s ok.

The only thing I like about winmo is Swype, is there an apk file or something so I can use it in android?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
There are some downloads floating around for it, but were not supposed post it on xda cause its still in beta and not a public release...so you prob wont get it here. Might get lucky though....
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
That's not why we're not supposed to post it, it's because it is proprietary software and I think XDA got a C&D on providing it so it's technically considered warez even though you can't buy it.
If you look elsewhere though, you can find it.

hmm, I'm not a developer, yet, but from my basic coding classes at school I always had the impression that RIL would be written in a low level language like C. Was surprised to find Java in there.

Its handled in both c/c++ and Java
Libs coded in c/c++, android framework stuff obviously in Java

WOW, one little file you say. I haven't done any real world programming and nothing close to the amount of code in that file. But I'm curious, how many programmers do you think were needed to come up with all that code. Also how do you guys go about understanding that many lines of code without documentation ?

lol, I'm doing that but they don't teach cool tricks like these. They always want you to write increasingly difficult code from scratch.
But we did do some cool stuff this sem, just implemented a shell in C, before that did Y86 assembly (GAWD!), and have to deliver a normal and a multithreaded merge sort within the next 5 days as the last project of the sem.

probably the easiest way for someone to do this would be to manipulate the xda app/tapatalk app so it just opens to the bible thread.
with that said, youre offering a lot of money for something that is already very easy. just favorite the bible thread in one of these apps, or put a bookmark on your homescreen for instant access.
This would be a sweet app.

I don't really think that it's the app's fault. After all, they draw from the same database that a computer browser would - only it gets displayed for mobile viewing pleasure. I could be wrong, but I think it's just how fast your data connection speed is on your phone, and whether or not you're using wifi or regular signal.
While it wouldn't take a lot of work to probably make a little somethin' somethin' to have the bible displayed a certain way, you'll still probably run into the same issue as data flows from the same sources.

Good thing is,Windows 8 will be open-source, and rumor of the mill on G4 is that the Xbox 720 will be on Windows 9 and will be 'connected' with its desktop, and phone counterparts. My speculation is that while Windows Phone may be closed source for now, that's soon going to change.

He knows its an android forum. That's why he asked us WHY DO WE PREFER ANDROID OVER WINDOWS.
If you're gonna try to make a fool of someone, cover your bases first.
On-topic, I actually prefer windows mobile to android. Windows Mobile was so customizable and had a lot of options at your fingertips. I was TORN upgrading from my bbcurve cuz I couldn't decide if I wanted the TP2 or the Hero but I settled for the hero because of the camera.
Now its no contest. Windows Phone 7 is so ****ing stupid and limited compared to windows mobile.

I'm also a member of the gamefaqs forum where trolling is not tolerated at all you troll on there you may as well delete your account because they will do it for you. WP7 might be good for people who doesn't want to deal with troubleshooting their phone, i.e. non-tech savvy people. It actually has nice UI and I heard it gives refreshing experience to people who are exhausted with iOS and/or android. I like its zune style music app. I am actually frustrate with Android music player. Default one looks soooo outdated. I want something real nice like iOS's coverflow or WP7's zune for android out of the box. Don't want to pay extra money buying music apps. Also there are no good music apps that work flawlessly with the lock screen.
Again, WP7 has less apps and porting is slower. I think it doesn't have Skype yet but will have Tango soon. Also it doesn't have free tethering. All the good things about android such as rooting, installing unique apps like call recorder, roam control, PRL flashing, free GPS navigation, decluttering unnecessary carrier apps, etc. are not possible.
Personally, I would like to try Lumia 800 if I wasn't in contract with Sprint.
I went with Android mainly because it is not Windows, and I hate Windows.
I've been working with Windows for almost 20 years(wow, feeling old) and its just one thing after another when it comes to bugs.
I would have went with an IPhone if it had a slide-out keyboard. Android was the only alternative in my books, since Palm blew chunks with the Pre. I had a 755P Palm OS phone forever, before trying the Pre and then going to the Moment.
