[Q] Adding APNs to connect with Rogers - Vibrant General

So Im having problems connecting to the 3G network to Rogers with my unlocked T-Mobile Galaxy S Vibrant and I was wondering if i add the APN's to Rogers manually that that will be able to connect me to the 3G network that my oh so ****ing cool phone has been lacking... So far i can only connect to EDGE and i cannot use any application that requires data at all...

I guess this will be my first post in 3 years of lurking
Here is what I have on mine
(It even properly documents my usage in the MyRogers app)
Name: Rogers
APN: Rogers-core-appl1.apn
Proxy: note set
Port: not set
Username: Not Set
Server: Not Set
MMSC: Not Set
MMS Proxy:
MMS Port :Not set
MCC: 302
MNC: 720
Authentication type: not set
APN Type: internet +mms
**NOTE I don't use MMS, so I didn't bother to enter the MMS settings when I first got the phone

[SOLUTION] Desire Z APN / MSM settings for Fido

I bought my Desire Z from Bell then had it unlocked for use on the Fido Network, which works fine except for the internet settings. Went into access point settings and here's what it's asking for...
Name
APN
Proxy
Port
Username
Password
Server
MMSC
MMS proxy
MMS protocol
MCC
MNC
Authentication type
APN type
Obviously, because it's not a Fido phone, they can't tell me much in the way of how to set the thing up, and the settings for Bell aren't going to do me much good. Can anyone lend a clue?
Fido has Android phones ??
If so, then just give 'em a call, say you have an Android phone and ask for the settings
they will tell you how to configure it (The process is the same for every Android phone)
Suggestion: take note and then come back and share the knowledge
you could be helpful to othr users

Has anyone got the mms settings for fido the ones I found on the net don't seem to work!
I bought the Desire Z from Bell too and these settings are working for me.

Thanks ok that got it working
Oddly enough, I was able to get a connection with only the Name, APN, MCC, and MNC. All the other values I left blank and I was still able to get a connection. Just to be safe, I filled in the rest of the data and it seemed to work fine. Thanks!
Just wanted to check - are you able to connect to Fido 3G or is the device edge only?
Thanks in Anticipation!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=3465017, i have this problem!! In Fido network i have only EDGE signal - not 3G... may you help me anything? )
Did you try the settings above?

I9500 won't sync MS Exchange emails over 3G

Hi there,
I've got an I9500, running the latest stock ROM from OTA update.
I have just started a new job and I'm trying to get my MS Exchange emails working.
When I synchronise over Wi-Fi it works (any Wi-Fi connection), but over 3G i am unable to sync.
My Gmail account works fine over 3G and Wi-Fi. (This is an I9500, so no 4G in the UK for me)
I'm using the stock mail app.
I've spoken to T-mobile UK to verify my APN settings (some posts on the internet say to check APN settings), I just can't get it to work!
(APN settings are below):
Name: T-Mobile Internet
APN: general.t-mobile.uk
Proxy: Not set
Port: Not Set
Username: t-mobile
Password: **
Server: Not set
MMSC: http://mmsc.t-mobile.co.uk:8002
MMS Proxy: 149.254.201.135
MMS Port: 8080
MCC: 234
MNC: 30
Auth. Type: PAP
APN Type: default,supl
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Trying to switch to Straight Talk, no data, no texts, I'm desperate!

OK, so I have an At&t Galaxy S4, one of the originals, I'm on baseband MDL, rooted, with TWRP auto-loki recovery. Running CM11, android 4.4.4.
I'm off contract with at&t, am trying to switch to straight talk to save money. I followed all their directions to port my number, activate service, etc. I can make and receive calls, but I have no data (phone shows bars and the LTE logo) and no texting ability. Straight talk has been worse than useless, and I haven't gotten a support person yet who can actually speak English.
My apn settings are as follows:
Name: reseller
APN: reseller
Proxy, port, user/pass, all not set
MMSC:
PHP:
http//mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS proxy:
PHP:
proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN type: default,supl,mms
Rest is default.
Note: my phone is NOT carrier unlocked, but it didn't complain in the slightest, and still doesnt, about the ST sim. I did get an unlock code from at&t, but when I switched to the T-Mobile sim to try to trigger the unlock message, the code wasn't accepted. Tried it twice, no dice.
Please, I'm desperate.

I am not sure if you have gotten this taken care of yet, but I have always had good luck with the following:
- Press Main
- Select Settings
- Select Wireless and Networks
- Select Mobile Networks
- Select Access point Names
- Delete all APN's in this section.
- Press Menu
- Press New APN
- Enter the follow settings one for General Data . The other for MMS

I do know for a fact that leaving your mms at ATT will NOT work, even if you blank it out it would stand a better chance at working.
