hey thanks for reading my mytouch 4g track pad doesn't want to click what is another way to install a rom on recovery thanks
You can install it from the Rom Manager app, I think its a premium feature though.. I always do it from boot recovery and from there all I am aware of is the trackpad button you are trying.
use the camera button to press instead of the trackball...
Before you start, I recommend backing up your text messages and call logs, as these can be restored to any ROM I've tried so far. I recommend using SMS Backup & Restore and Call Logs Backup & Restore by Ritesh Sahu, both available free from the Android Market. Also, back up your apps using Titanium Backup, as it is faster to restore user apps from backup than having to install them again from the Market.
You do not need to purchase premium for ROM Manager to install a ROM from it. To install a ROM from ROM Manager:
1. Download the ROM of your choice.
2. Copy the ROM's ZIP file to your SD card (I recommend you place it in the root of the SD card, i.e., inside no other folder).
3. Open ROM Manager on your phone.
4. Under ROM Management, select Install ROM from SD Card.
5. Select the ZIP file for your ROM from the list.
6. In the ROM Pre-Installation popup window, check all three check boxes, and tap OK.
7. In the Reboot And Install popup window, tap OK. Your phone will reboot into recovery, back up your current ROM, and install the selected new ROM. This process can take from 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the size of the current ROM being backed up and the new ROM being installed.
8. Enjoy your new ROM! Note that on first boot on a new ROM, it will take a long time because the OS is rebuilding the cache.
ETA: Anecdotal evidence time! I just flashed from Virtuous Unity 1.31.0 to RoyalGinger 3.0 just for the fun of it, and it took 11 minutes from hitting OK in step 7 until the ROM booted into initial setup.
the camera button works the same as the trackpad in recovery so its easier...
Please can someone help!!!
I run Virtuous Unity 1.31. All the buttons on my myTouch 4G/Glacier worked fine until last week when I flashed a new kernel (Virtuous Custom Kernel v3).
Here are my problems now:
Trackpad: Before, my trackpad woke the system up but now it doesn't. I've flashed the trackpad wake mod and it still doesn't fix it.
Note: Other than failing to wake the system up, the trackpad's functions are working. It scrolls up/down/side to side just fine through menus, etc.
Power button: In recovery mode, it acts strange - it won't execute the selected menu item. Trackpad scrolls up/down/side to side fine.
Note: Outside of recovery mode, the power button works just fine.
In desperation, I've even flashed a different ROM (Cyanogenmod 7) and the trackpad wake issues I've mentioned above persists in this ROM too.
Please can someone tell me what I should do. I really will appreciate any help you can offer me.
Thank you so much!!!
I use the trackpad to scroll and select in recovery, not the power button.. thats for the hboot menu
In HBOOT, all the commands seem to work for me. I can use Power to execute a selection. But in Recovery, it doesn't work for anything. When I use the trackpad to select, it does nothing. If I use the Power button to execute a highlighted item, it brings me to the circle with hat icon. I have to use the button on the right side of the phone (camera button?) to select a highlighted item. There is something wrong and I can't figure out what to do. Please help!

hi,
how to make a costom rom:
1. download your favorite rom. like cm9, ics or anything else.
2. when u downloaded, don't extract! put the rom with clockwork (link is under) on your micro sd(Secure Digital) or micro sdhc(Secure Digital High Capacity).
3. turn your mobile off and start it up with: power on - home. when your screen lights up, release the power on buton. (get down by use the volume up buton and up with volume up. confirm with the home buton. ) instal zip from sd --> clockworkmod.zip. let it finish and turn of you phone (get the battery out)
4. start it up with: power on - home. when your screen lights up, release the power on buton. -->wipe data/factory reset --> wipe cache partition --> advanced --> wipe dalvik cache.
5. now u can instal your rom! get back with the back buton and choose: instal zip from sdcard --> choose zip from sdcard --> [choose your costom rom.]
this is my quide. if i helped you: push the thanx buton at the top. sorry for my english

Is there a mod for the power menu, I dont want to flash an entire rom, just a power menu to enable restart options.
A quick search leads me to believe that at this time yoou're only gonna get that feature by flashing a rom. Why not try out AOKP or a mostly stock looking/functioning one?
Edit: check the "MoDaCo custom ROM." apparently its a stock rom with advanced power menu you toggle menu features

post number 5 has a link, have to be deodexed though
Hey guys, I found this on my weary travels after suffering from a completely failing GPS.
The advice I found inside the actual S5 port thread was to flash a stock ROM via ODIN.
I tried that multiple times, including a PIT repartition, nand erase and bootloader update.
NO LUCK.
I thought I was completely doomed, but upon trying the following advice it fixed right up with only a single reboot and 20 seconds of work.
Here it is:
Solution 1
On you dialer type in this USSD *#0011#
Press menu key > press back
Press menu key > press key input > Q
Press menu key > press key input > 0000
Wait for a few seconds and the screen options will change
Press on UMTS
Press on Common
Press on NV Rebuild
Press on NV Rebuild
Press on System, Protocol, GPS, IMS
Wait for 30 seconds and then shutdown your phone
Power On phone
GPS should work fine now
Recommend to use GPS STATUS app to reset and download AGPS Data
Solution 2 - If you are still on the S5 Port ROM
Assuming you are on a S5 Port ROM, make sure GPS is enabled
Boot into recovery and without wiping anything "dirty" flash a note 3 rom and reboot
There will be a lot of force closes once reboot is complete. Reboot back into recovery
Wipe data and reboot into the Rom again. There may be a few force closes. Reboot back into recovery
Wipe 3 times (data, cache, system, boot)
I recommend latest Philz Recovery (use intall new rom option to wipe)
Restore or install your desired Note 3 rom
GPS should work fine
Incase it still does not, perform solution 1
Enjoy guys.
All credit goes to XinfinityoO for working this out.
If you need further help or explanation or anything, just post here and I'll try my best to help you out.
I've used solution one before. It's works on any rom. I had GPS not finding my location issue on all stock roms and found that solution somewhere and it worked like a charm.

Did you follow the instructions?
Because it appears after you press the menu hardware button > back then menu button key input Q and then menu button key input 0000.
Not sure if it matters but keep the Q as a capital letter. Follow the instructions to the letter.
