Whom do you want to thank?
Do you want to say thank you for
- helping
- ROMs
- Ideas
- Tools
- or just for beeing a memeber of Herald/Wing-Community....
Do it here! With my 2000th post I wanted to start a thread to say
THANK YOU
espacially to:
Itje - my mentor
Gambit - my testing friend
Pureskillzz - damn he tested sooo much for me
Anichillus - a good friend
Ttran - chatting and joking
Ivanmmj - everytime wondering what will be his next project
Duprade - where are you??
Ikarus - for Batterystatus
And you????
Not sure what to say, but I definitely have to thank you Daniel for being the backbone here in this community
and Itje for being a pioneer in developing impressive ROMs for the Herald.
Of course I have to mention Ivan, Duprade, Pureskillz and Aserg for their never ending effort in helping out wherever they can,
But Itje and Papamopps truly formed this community in the first place untill today.
Thanks to all of you for making this forum a damn cool place to be!
Ah well, here you go Daniel...
CONGRATULATIONS to your 2000 post here at XDA-DEV
congrats, just looking forward to herald un-brick!!
I know dude! I've been extremely busy..
graduating this Saturday ... and I took an overload of classes, I even had to get approval from the Dean in order to take that many ... so the past month has been rough!! My last final exam is tomorrow ... then Saturday I graduate!
My hat is off to :
ITJE - the godfather of the Herald rom
Aserg - great contributions
Papamopps - who is THE LAW, and keeps us in line.
and everyone else at XDA. Without you guys, this place would be nothing. When you check out any other PPC forum, they all suck.
I would just like to say thanks to anyone who has looked into, figured out, built, shared, sweated, toiled, worked on, researched, helped, or just plain old helped someone head in the right direction. There is no way to list you all, but you know who you are. Thanks a million.
I can say nothing more than the post above. I agree fully. THANK YOU!!!! My wing wouldn't be the same without all of you.
I just wanted to say a BIG thanks to everyone really. If it wasn't for this site, I would have the slick phone mods I do. I also wanted to give a big thanks to ilikepu for helping me with my questions personally. This website rocks.
Huge thanks to all the developers, XDA staff and the nice people who visit the forums.
Congrats papamopps on the 2k posts. Now get a proper spell checker ffs

Of course they are. Just kidding..
If you can read this text.....
Thank a programmer!
I thought my wing was cool when i took it out of the box. two hours later i wanted to get my money back. I stumbled into this forum from a google search. You have all made my wing the phone i believe it was intended to be. I would like to thank all of you who have designed/developed and just plain pointed out the obvious.
thanks
I want to thank Ivan for all his dedication and hard work. He's a real good mentor
I'm here as of my first HTC ( The Magician )
So I THANK all of you who helpt me with my Small and Big Problems and mistakes.
Ghostrider
I'd like to thank:
Itje, I have been flashing his roms since something like 1.x
Olipro, for the hard spl which allows me to flash all those great roms
All the other people on XDA that make my herald something that people actually envy
Thanks to Duprade and Tyler for they wrote the first posts here that I ever read and helped me to realize that I can "change" my phone instead of getting another when I get bored of it.
Thanks again to all who have said, "If you don't read all of the instructions, you will brick your phone and you are on your own." I read and then read again and then read some more. Brickless. (knocking on wood)
And most recently to Papamopps for his latest creation. It's sweet!
Oh and one more honorable mention to Duprade. Dude, without your keyboard fix a lot of us would be screwed.
I'd love to thank Ivan for his amazing easy bake oven.
i would like to thank papamopps for helping me with stuff and his wonderful roms.
ivan for all his tools and teachings posted.
m3xican5 for teaching me stuff that would make my future skins better.
itje for great roms as well.
and the list goes on...
I didn't realize people had thanked me here. ^_^ Thank you guys.

Go steal DroidX's devs.
I'd help if I knew a thing or two about programming. Nice the about the epic is that some of development that has gone into the evo was to fix things that should've worked in the first place.
EVO on Tapatalk
Now if you were to offer them all free Epic's I bet you'd sway them easier

This is an ignorant comment. This is an international site ... many here have English as a second language. I'm always impressed with someone who speaks more than one language -- as I have trouble with one!
Also ... you might find some good development at this site: http://forum.sdx-developers.com/epic-android-2-12-2/
this is for mostly Samsung phones and many of the same devs are here and there.

WE ARE ALWAYS HITTING THANKS BUTTON FOR DEVELOPERS BUT TRULY MODERATORS ARE DOING ALSO EXCELLENT JOB
COME ON EVERYONE LETS HIT THE THANKS BUTTON FOR
dharvey4651, leepriestenator
FOR WORKING HARD.
I appreciate the initiative my friend. Knowing my work here is appreciated does mean a lot.
But....... Once again, this is not a development thread and so belongs in General Discussion. This time, HD2 General Discussion since it's not Android related either.
Gonna move the thread but leaving a redirect for the time being.
hooray for the mods, cheers

yes of cause they deserve big thanks from us. We always grateful to the developers, moderators and whoever helps to achieve the target.
This thread is really something I've been waiting for. Since I bought my hd2 this site has been my daily journal. I've learned so much about something I've never heard about, that is: this community. Although in every single thread there may be some illiterate, there was never a lack of information. This is a joy for me, even not having anyone around to share the experience with, being afraid of robbery or envy. I had the opportunity to experience more platforms than my notebook is able to deliver me, and it was more expensive than my phone. Now we have the beginning of NAND and so much joy ... how can I evaluate my phone if it is just as I want it to be? I just have to login, pick a shelve, download, follow all the instructions without wanting to make it easier on me, that is, being a smarta** and check for the recurrent issues. Most of the time I stay with the "thanks" button, sometimes the problem seems to be different than all, so I report it, that's all... No fuss. Following this simple instructions I have found the best suiting ROM for my needs and I ready don't care what other people think about, its my phone still. So this is a big THANK YOU, other than HELP ME (that we are all used to), for the incredible existence that all developers, moderators, guinea pigs, etc, have put into it. You should be proud!
THANK YOU, so many times as this can still go on.
PS - When I have enough money, I'll get everyone here to have a beer in my bar!

only handful of thanks to moderatorscome on ladsssssssssssssss they also deserve the thanks for the hard work they doing
To be honest, I haven't noticed any moderator's work except for moving wrongly placed posts.
The fact that they tend to be invisible and not the heavy-handed type is the thanks that I offer them.
I am distinguishing between a moderator doing a moderator's job and the same moderator posting help and advice.
Yeah you guys really thanks!!
People say that facebook is like a refridgerator, you keep on checking it even though you know that there's nothing new. I must check XDA around 40 times a day - is that absurd or what?! i love this website!
Ok so basically, this is a rant for all forums not specifically this one...but I've noticed in a lot of the threads I read through people asking this or how to do that or can someone do this or where can I find that...now imagine how easy it is to click the thanks button the forum developer put on posts, hell even saying thank you in the thread??? Alot easier than it was for someone to take the time to answer your question or help you out?
I see this all the time on all the forums...
So why is it that most people don't do it?? Serious question? Has it come down to just being a gimme gimme gimme world? And trust me with 6 kids in my house I understand that...but my 2 year old neice says bless you when you sneeze or thank you for whatever reason it is deserved??
So why is it that some grown ass men or women or even teenagers on these forums can't even say thanks? Lol. That thanks button is there...well atleast my view on it...so that when someone gives me advice or a suggestion I see they have been thanked umpteen times or however many times and I'm like well this person seems credible? And it may not seem like it to everyone, but to me it kind of makes you feel good that you helped someone and they took the time to thank you Seriously people...we need to start thanking those that deserve it!!
And again this was a rant for all the forums I frequent not this one, not any specific thread, and not about me getting thanks because I dont care if I do or don't...I'm not a Dev, I'm not a Themer, I'm just a guy that visits forums and passes along info and knowledge I've recieved from people that I have thanked
And this will be on the other forums I frequent also since not everyone is on XDA
Thanks for reading
Now what are your thoughts
Edit** And for those that say I use forum "X"s app and there isn't a thanks button but I thank later from a computer, this isnt about not getting thanked right away...just not getting thanked at all **
I think people asking those questions over and over don't even know it...
If it was a little more in your face they would probably press it like after you reply it should ask ...would you like to thank?
Thank you!

This is the part I agree with the most. Even from the phone, hit menu on the XDA app, browser, and thank the person helping you.
Thank you...I too get a little irked when you spend a couple of days working with someone, fix their issue and then they are gone. BTW I thanked you!
Honestly, I liked XDA better when there wasn't a thanks button, then people wouldn't complain about it being used

Thats a great suggestion but I think then people would complain about it being in your face, like trying to make you thank someone. Which you never have to do. You aren't required to thank anybody...
That's why it makes people feel good when they are actually thanked Because you actually took the time to let me know I helped you

Thanks for sharing your opinion and that is one of the exact reasons for this post...the lack of the common courtesy!

Appreciate your honesty but again in my post I said it's not about the thanks button not being used
Even though I can point out I don't know how many posts in a single ROM thread that a person has an issue or question and it is answered or solved and like stated above...they are gone ...it's not about the button...but the lack of the common courtesy of saying thank you
*thanked for your honesty
IDK, one of my biggest pet peeves are people who are like panhandling for "thanks". The people who say "don't forget to thanks if I helped you" and things like that. To me its a meaningless number under my username. I guess its nice knowing you helped someone by them "thanking" you, but 99% of the time that I help a person, they actually write out a comment to me thanking me for helping them.
Yea, its a rude move not to thank a person that is helping you, but I don't help people for thanks. I help people because if I know something that can help them, I can make their day/life a tiny bit easier and then someone else will do the same for me.

That's exactly it! It's not about the thanks button lol Everyone is refering this to that lol
I only referenced the number because like I said...why is it really there? I think to let others know that you've been a help to someone previously....
It's about the lack of the common courtesy
That's why in my sig it says if "someone" has helped you not me! lol If you say thanks in a post back great! If you click the button cool! Just thank the person helping you somehow!
Edit: And thats another thing its about paying it forward I'm always helping people on the side of the road, or getting off the top of their cars during a flood...But unless they thank you how do you know that you helped them?
Edit: Maybe I should change my sig to say Thank them not hit the button

Your sig is great. People should thank those that help them and giving people a general reminder is a good thing.
Part of not getting thanks is xda's 5 thanks per day and the other part is people prefer the app when the browser works quite well....its all I use to post and I always post from my phone.

give thanks
I give thanks when thanks are do and honestly it does not have to be through a button nor in a post typically i will direct pm the person i am thanking and do so that way even for something small.

Welcome. this is a great forum. I have learned so much, and the developers are really generous and patient. There's so much information in all these threads...make sure you read and search through, and you'll probably find most if not all of your answers.
Good luck and enjoy!
