[Q] Desire HD - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Does anyone know what happened to the desire HD builds? They are my favourite builds and the only thing holding them back was the fact the camera didnt work.
Also what kernel would you reccomend for the desire HD builds? I would like to use them again but put a more up to date kernel in.

The most popular and most often updated Desire HD based build is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=795914
I recommend using hastarin's latest kernel, from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787588

just flashed CM6, one question

Hey i just flashed CM6.1.1 on my htc desire z and i have one problem. The only thing i want back is the Orginal Camera and Camcorder from the Desire Z, can anyone post a way to put them back on? i have my orginal backups but dont know how to extract the camera and camcorder from them.
You can't run those apps on CM, because they are Sense apps and need the Sense framework in the ROM. CM doesn't have Sense.
You will need to either live without those versions of the apps, or switch to a Sense-based ROM - e.g. Virtuous.
Sent from my HTC Desire Z
Indeed they are for Sense only but keep an eye on Enomthers ROM. He has been working on porting these cameras over so it will probably be in the next update he releases
Thanks for the info guys.....what about the desire z keyboard?? Would that work? Id like the desire z keyboard which I believe isn't apart of sense. Right?

You'll lose the on-screen keyboard, but you can install an apk of the HTC_IME keyboard, found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=663608
The QWERTY should work fine though

Rotatable Sense

Would it (theoretically) be possible to have the Sense rotatable like the Desire Z has with other Sense builds?
I noticed one Desire HD ROM that had some files copy/pasted to be able to rotate that sense version too.
Problem is, Desire HD/Z builds are seriously lagging causing it not to be very usable (At least for me).
The 'normal' Desire builds that have Sense, would there be a possibility to make them rotatable as well?
Wait for dandiest's NAND Desire Z rom
im using MDJ's Desire HD rom and its not lagging at all (NAND Version)

I am sorry, but that's not what I was after.
I am just curious if there's a way to edit the current Sense in a way that it can be rotatable. If not, then so be it.

[Q] Are there any builds that have "flip for speaker"?

Are there any builds that have the "flip for speaker" feature working?
Always wondered what was the deal with that feature on the HD2 port Android ROMs. I have Desire_DL 3.4 btw
I've not heard of it being a feature in any of the builds, but I don't use Sense builds and I think that was a feature that HTC added to WM, so they may be different.
I did, however, find this on the market...
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.lionebra.upsounddown
That should do the trick
When I had the Mytouch 4g (Glacier), the phone had that feature, maybe you can try the Mytouch 4g ROM.
Its a setting/feature on cm7 based NAND builds. I haven't tested it yet but it is there and I have yet to hear anyone complain about it

Haven't found a build that I have tried that worked. But if you want to get the same flip to speakerphone feature found on the Desire HD, go to the Market and download Flip Speakerphone. Does exactly what it says. Works perfectly on my HTC HD2 with Cmylxgo's Stock Desire HD(2) build.
I never got it working, but I use something called "Up Sound Down" form the market...works great
I guess he meant HTC's Sense feature. Any idea why is that not working?

[Q] HTC WIFI driver sucks, possible to use CM7 WIFI driver?

All HTC roms ive been on suck with wifi, wifi calling in specifics. HTC roms i can go about 10 feet before it starts getting distorted, when i had CM7 i was able to walk across the street and hold a convo, ive tried the Best wifi performance switch (which i think does nothing at all) and its the same issue.
Is it possible to use the CM7 wifi driver in the HTC rom?
Im not sure what Rom you are using but the problem is most likely with your kernel. Have you tried flashing a different Kernel?
This one might work for you
Fauxs GB sense kernel
If this kernel is not made for the ROM you are using dont flash it. find the correct one for your rom
CM7's WiFi drivers are ported to CM7 using HTC's sources... Change your kernel.

Hmm, What else could it possibly be?
I have this problem too and it is really frustrating
I have to literally put a wireless router on my desk I work on just to make it like a regular call
Im talking on my phone via wifi calling with royal sense Tmobile Mytouch 2.3.4 based rom right about 30ft away from the router and through two wall without any problems
Edit: However this sense rom is using GingerSensei 1.0, ckisgen custom kernel not faux

which Miui ?

wondering which miui Rom works best on the dhd . Thanx
You could try SCI-MIUI-1.9.16-1.1 great rom

I'm running Freshly Sqeezed (check signature), but all MIUI builds runs great.

I'm using MIUI Android version and call recorder works fine, how did you setup CR?
I believe MrGaraks version is best

Freshly Sqeezed FTW. MrGaraks does wonders! miss MIUI! lol...
I tried a 1.7.15 official MIUI and seemed a bit laggish. I like MIUI style but i want a perfectly smooth rom, i hate lags
Suggestions? Sci-MIUI or Freshly Squeezed?
there are no major diffference between all of the dhd miui roms here. the differences are only optical and/or minor optimizations/customizations.
regarding lags and battery time it basically does not matter which miui custom rom you are using.
as far as i know no one of the miui cursom rom devs here is really changing anything on the original miui. or changes are only additional scripts for tweaking some parameters or including a customiuzation mod or a different kernel.
there is far less magic than many users might think.
mr.garaks freshly squeezed miui is a very good rom. the best about this rom is mr.garak himself because he is very fast at helping.
i cannt talk about rd miui (sorry if it is wrong, not sure about the name) by dekky as i didn't tested it. but judging from his changelist he also didn't changed much significant. so his rom should also work very good..
though, some of the tweaks one of us applies to his rom could make trouble for some users or sometimes it is simply a coincidence. try them out and where you feel most comfortable that you should keep. there is no real best miui rom.
I'm on newest official with supercharger and kernelizer and oc.. INCREDIBLE SPEED i just had to bold it
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using Tapatalk
I personally use the official released from "MIUIAndroid.com". That way I have a better idea of what's been done to my ROM, and I know that random tweaks haven't been done.
For issues regarding lag. I use LordModUE Kernel. Whether or not it actually makes a difference or if it's just the placebo effect I do not know. But I know that I enjoy the experience more with LordModUE.
Just my 2 cents.

@Arktihx : i fully understand you. that's one of the reasons why i started doing my own miui rom
i have a quite detailed change over stock list. and if this is not enough i am willing to pinpoint the changes. i think this should every dev do.
