I think I bricked my Vibrant - Vibrant General

Well I believe I have bricked my Vibrant..
I have tried installing Eugenes Unbrickable with 513 pit - VIA Odin and it passes and restarts than gets stuck on the Samsung startup screen.
Then I procedded to reinstall with the Factory JFD and 512 PIT and the same thing happens, it installs and Odin says passed but on the restart it gets stuck on the Samsung startup screen..
Is there anyway to fix this, I think I have tried everything and I'm about ready to through in the towel.

Did you try checking Re-partition option the second time?
If your problem was with a lag fix active you must do that the second time.

TW Fusion 1.1 Stock Kernel EXT2 lagfix

You can also try a JI6 file with NO 512.pit

Neither one of those methods are working for me...

How long are letting it sit for? It takes awhile on the first boot. I don't see any reason it wouldn't work since ODIN replaces everything including the kernel.

I let it sit for at least 1hr before pulling the battery and trying again..
I think I have tried every combination of files and nothing is working, the only PIT file I haven't tried is 514..
I had it once where it booted up into recovery mode but the volume buttons were reversed and the power button didn't work..
Now I'm just stuck on the recovery screen with the following errors
E:Can't mount /dev/block/st110
(Invalid argument)
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount DBDATA:
copy default media content failed.

Try what? Not sure what you want me to try

What version of ODIN are you using? try 1.3 and see if you have any luck

Using Odin 1.3..
I'm not sure what elese the problem could be..

Does anyone know how long it takes to run just the PIT file..It's been loading now for about 25min..And doesn't seen like anything is happening

Phone Won't Boot I9000M Bell

Hey I've got JH2, rooted and OCLF. It's been working great for a month. Last night I pulled the phone out of my pocket and it was off. I turned it back on and check again in 15 minutes, it was off again. Third time it stayed on all night just fine.
Today I tried to go into the Android Market and it kept force closing so I tried to restart the phone, not it just gets to the "S" on loading and hangs there for a while and then the screen goes back and the two bottom buttons stay lite.
I got into recovery mode and wiped the cache but it still won't restart. I did not to the wipe data/factory reset yet. Should I do that next? Will I lose everything?
I just did the factory reset and it's running again.
glad you got it resolved
hello i am having the same problem tried data /factory reset but it is still doing the same thing... i get an error when entering recovery mode
"E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcb1k0p1
(NO such file or directory)
E:copy_dbdate_media:Can't mount sdcard:copy default media content failed."
this was coming up before the data/factory rest also
any suggestions on how i can fix this ?
ps this is my first android phone so i dont really now how to do much

Well I was running the super dark rom + stupidfast kernal and everything was running great, until i wanted to try stupidfast 1.1.4 and i noticed that it said BLN was disabled by default and followed the link to flash a kernal (had no idea that it was a kernal and that it wasnt meant for our phone) long story short. My phone is stuck at the samsung boot screen i downloaded odin3 and downloaded all the files needed to restore, however everything i do results in the phone still being stuck at the samsung screen then rebooting over and over again

It sounds like all you need to do is cold start your phone in download mode. Make sure you have the correct (samsung galaxy s) drivers on your computer.
1) Turn off phone
2) Pull battery and USB out
3) Hold volume DOWN while reconnecting USB
4) Continue Holding volume DOWN and press the power button
(you may now put the battery back in)
You should see a big yellow triangle, this is download mode. From here you can use Odin to flash back to stock. Also, make sure you are flashing the correct image via. odin. We had a guy awhile back who accidentally flashed the stock mesmerize image and his phone really was bricked.
That last sentence brings a smirk to my face for some reason
I think someone needs to come up with a theme that makes the phone look like a brick

or at least a boot animation of a brick being dropped by a flying android that explodes once it reaches the bottom of the screen.

After i flash the stock-i500-recovery.tar.md5 through odin and go to the recovery menu and hit apply sdcard:update.zip it gives me this error message:
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verifcation failed
Installation aborted
anyone know what this means or if im supposed to be seeing this?
sounds like you still have the update.zip that clockwork creates on your phone but your not rooted (kind of a guess here). I would flash EVERTHING back with odin, remove your SD Card (where the update.zip is) and just boot the phone to see if it gets you to a setup/home screen.

tried that and the phone still continues to just hang at the samsung screen and continuously reboots over and over. and when i tried the update.zip it says there's no SD card inserted (obviously since i took it)
Try flashing the odin recovery file. It's in this thread;

It worked for me when I got that error.

[Q] ANY Idea how to fix this

HI
Can anyone help me sort this problem I caused for myself ?
I was trying to flash nordic froyo on defy via rsdlite v4.9 everything looked ok asked me to start phone manualy now its stuck in bootloader
tried factory reset tried wipe cache all i get is E:cant mount CACHE:recovery/command
E:cant mount CACHE:recovery/caller
Ecant mount CACHE:recovery/log
tried to install miui via zip through sd card wont open it
any ideas pleaseeeee
Don’t know if I am qualified to answer your question. Any trouble I had I always found it easier to start completely over with a fresh factory install. I think I have had problems with certain SDs, try changing that out. I bought a used defy that was totally hosed up and this sounds crazy but I had to flash the original rom three times before it began working. ?????
thanks ill give that a try wich one did you flash looking for gingerbread full sbf
just install it via rsdlite again. Be patient.. its quite slow process so dont worry...
now you do this...
switch off phone completely
press and HOLD volume+ button and then the power on button
you will come to bootloader...
connect the usb cable
Start RSDlite(login as administrator in windows or right click and run as administrator)
and flash again... be calm till it finishes and says PASS
After the original tmobile flash I use Nordic froyo. Clean simple no clutter, then flash CM7. i think I can also remember some people having trouble with sdlite I used 5.2.
also noticed RSD LIte will sometimes hang and say "manualy reboot" I leave the room come back in a half hour or so and the phone has rebooted itself.
thanks guys
Thanks guys got it sorted flashed full sbf tmobile sweet. Merry christmas to you all

[Q] eMMC fail?

Is there anyway to check if the eMMC fails?
I was using ICS for several days, and I powered on the Nook after it was out of power one nite. Suddenly, it stops at the Cyanogen "loading..."
I'ved tried to boot into Recovery, and it stops at the Cyanogen "loading into recovery" ..
After several tests and trying, I finally use bootable uSD to boot into CWR 3.0.2.8, and now it shows can't mount boot/system/data if I try to format these partitions.
I am wondering if the eMMC is broken, and how can I fix it.
Appreciated and sorry for my bad English.

Help~~ I can boot into CWM on uSD card, but can't mount /sdcard
I don't know what happens I was stuck like you then loaded that post onto a 4gb SD and hoped to boot into a Tom but recovery posted up then all I did was push reset and bam miui booted [previous ] rom and configuration I don't know if what I did really helped but all I know was it was bootlooping at cyanogenmods logo with booting symbol. Since its my wife's tab I just through 1.4.1 nook rom so she's happy now.
Did you try what I did to see if it would help out at all and do anyone know what is going on with this flashing was never this weird 6months ago when it was mine running honeycomb..

Yes, I did try the method you mention. The only thing I got was a blank screen.
I tried the "fdisk" method, and found that there is no block device, so I think the hardware (eMMC) was broken. Just need to confirm that.
Thx anyway.

How to Re-stock P1000 to Gingebread 2.3 | Guide with Links

NOTE : this is not my own procedure but i just wanna share this with you guys since some tab users here are having problems restocking their tab to gingerbread, i have also added some notes and troubleshooting in case there will be an issue flashing the rom
link to the original post credits of course to the writer > how to restock p1000 to gingerbread 2.3
btw, this is a complete and full tutorial/step-by-step guide on how to restock gingerbread rom, so if you did not download all requirements, restocking wont be successful
my story and experience : hey guys, yesterday night, i softbricked my galaxy tab p1000 which was running cm9, it turned out like that when i went to recovery and wipe all data, cache, dalvik, even system, and boot. i tried reflashing the cm9.zip but as it was installing its update, my tab suddenly boot into battery icon, meaning it was already empty (maybe, dont have any idea), then, since it was already 12 midnight, there were no internet cafes open in our village, so i went out though somehow it might be dangerous for me, then, i found an internet cafe open. i rent a pc, first, i tried to go to download mode, so some drivers will be installed, but it kept showing "unkown device recognized" bla bla.. still.. i didnt lose hope. so i searched on google, and i found this site > http://suzhipackz.blogspot.com/2012/07/how-to-re-stock-samsung-galaxy-tab.html , when i finished downloading odin, i opened it to check whether it will read my device or not, first three attempts, it did not. so, i thought of downloading samsung kies so the drivers will be installed (safest way really to install samsung drivers), then i still looked for a smaller file (while waiting for kies to complete its download), then i found that there is a smaller zip file for you to install samsung drivers (see attachment below), i installed it, but still odin cant detect my device (try it, might be just on the pc i rented), so i just waited for kies to complete.. after a couple of minutes, successfully downloaded kies, and installed it. i tried connecting tab to pc with odin opened, i rebooted to download mode again and reconnect tab to pc, and voila! odin read my device! so, since pc has already detected my device, i just waited about 1 1/2 hours for the rom and the pit file and the db data file.... after almost 2 and half hours of crossing fingers, i have revived my tab and restocked it to gingebread 2.3!
HOW TO RESTOCK SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB p1000 to 2.3.3 GINGER BREAD STOCK ROM?
HERE:
- ALL REQUIREMENTS
.......Samsung KIES > LINK FOR SAMSUNG KIES
.......ODIN3 v1.7 > LINK FOR ODIN3 v1.7
.......p1000xxjq1_p1000xxjq1_p1000xxjpz < THIS IS STOCK ROM > LINK FOR STOCK ROM
.......gt-p1000_mr_PIT > LINK FOR PIT
.......dbdata.zip > LINK FOR DBDATA
.......place it all in ONE FOLDER in desktop "unzip it all"
PLEASE DOWNLOAD ALL OF THIS BEFORE YOU CONTINUE..............
PROCEDURE:
.......Turn off tab
.......open ODIN3 v1.7
.......click on the PDA and select - p1000xxjq1_p1000xxjq1_p1000xxjpz in your computer
.......clink on the PIT and select - gt-p1000_mr_PIT
.......Check only RE-PARTITION, "uncheck auto reboot and f.reset time"
.......in your tab press and hold "VOLUME DOWN AND POWER BUTTON"
.......if DOWNLOADING APPEAR leave it like that
.......now, connect you tab in computer
.......if ODIN detects your phone PRESS START in ODIN
.......wait for it until success, after that disconnect your tab
(if for an instance it stuck on downloading mode but you have already finished flashing, do not worry, you just have to manually hold the power button for it to boot up, it might get into recovery, so please reboot the system (it might also be a touch recovery so please tab the home touch key to continue) then if it keeps on booting on "samsung", do not worry, you are not done yet with the restocking procedure, so please proceed to the next step)
.......press and hold power button until it will turn off
.......open ODIN3 v1.7 again
.......UNCHECK it all "re-partition, auto reboot, f.reset time"
.......click on the PDA and select dbdata.zip
.......press and hold "VOLUME DOWN AND POWER BUTTON" again
.......if DOWNLOADING APPEAR leave it like that
.......now, connect your tab again
.......if ODIN detects your phone PRESS START in ODIN
.......wait for it until success, after that disconnect your tab
(again, if it is stuck on downloading mode but you have successfully done the flashing, hold power key to turn the tab on, and if it keeps on booting to "samsung" again, do the next step)
.......This time we will go to CLOCKWORKMOD by holding "VOLUME UP and POWER BUTTON"
(then wipe data, and wipe cache, (volume keys to scroll up or down, and home touch key to select) and reboot system, wait for a minute or two and home screen will now appear)
.........................................NOW YOUR IN STOCK ROM AGAIN 2.3.3 GINGER BREAD
another note : when there is an error for example that flashed on your tab screen like a color red "E:\ " something like that, do not worry, it is the external sd card (i dont have one so it was an error then but not a problem, no worries) just let it be, wait until it finishes
some files are already attached below coz they are just small in size
clicking "thanks" button is enough for me..
just sharing this with you guys...
happy restocking!!

Samsung Tab P1000 stuck in nowhere!
First of all thanks the OP for the brilliant post on how to re-stock GB on P1000.
Earlier today I was fooling around with my P1000 to update it from CM11 to Omnirom 5.0.2, troubles started there. I was trying to install the TWRP recovery over CWM, and that is when all hell broke loose.
1. P1000 couldn't mount my internal SD. The tab was perfectly booting to a previous version of JB CM sapir, which I don't have any clue appeared where from. The storage showed the 2 GB internal memory, but the 12GB internal SD was missing out.
And the CWM errors were E:/can't mound internal SD
2. Now, after wiping data, dalvik, battery stats, formatting and all that, the tab doesn't even boot into the OS. The moment the power button is on, CWM initiates a count down saying, trying to mount SD, but unable to do so. After 20 seconds, the tab starts this whole process again, and thus a loop.
3. I tried to re-stock to GB; but my tab isn't being detected by Odin in download mode. Odin detects the tab when it is turned on and when the tab is on countdown-restart-countdown loop; but not in download mode.
I am a total noob, and I don't want to throw my tab away as I am a student and can't afford to get a new one Someone please help me to fix the issue. Thanks in advance!
