Hi,
I use a stock HTC Sense UI with android 2.1. Is there a way I can upload a geotagged photo to Facebook while displaying the geotagging information for example in a small window beside the picture with google maps?
I know jack about developing for android, but here's how I think of it.
The app finds the coordonates on google maps for example. It takes a screenshot and using picture in picture it attaches the location to the picture. It just uploads the picture to facebook and that's it.

Hi Folks, when I activate the geo tagging option at taking a picture, it shows a symbol on the screen and it could find a GPS signal. After taking a photo and importing that to google maps, no GPS data is shown. Someone expirienced the same problem ? Cheers D
Had the GPS symbol in the camera stopped moving? If not, it didn't have a GPS fix when you took the picture....
yes, the symbol changed to a kind of graticule (hope it is the right english word) on, so should be fine, but no GPS data after importing that to maps.
This happened to me as well but I uploaded the photo to Flickr & when I check out the picture details everything was there even the camera I used (T-mobile G2). I think they call this meta data & its part of a jpeg file that keeps information about the picture like thumbnails, sixe & dimentions etc.
Just a little bit annoyed that I cant use that data in footprints
thanks for your reply. I tried it with Flickr as well and it works for me as well. Strange that on google maps it doesn't work. Anyway, the GPS data are there, that's first step. Cheers D
Hi,
Do anyone's Photo Sphere images upload to Google+ when you take them? My photos upload fine, but I noticed today that my photo sphere didn't instant upload. Does anyone know how to get this working?
Thanks in advance!
Good question... just tried it here and even with the new google+ update it wont auto-upload... interesting that...
On a side note though, you need to do the available google+ update or else your sphere won't display on the phone, inside google+ and it won't have the option to upload apparently.
Needs some more testing thats for sure.
Also my picture taking in the sphere blows... I need practice lol !
I can confirm that photo sphere does not get auto uploaded to g+. Seems that you have to manually do a share. You can also share it with the world straight to GMaps.
As a side note, I found taking pictures outside, is best. Indoors, walls are too close and makes the image shift around too much. As well, you should be rotating around the phone, not the other way around.
Hope that helps!
Has anyone noticed that when viewing your pictures that you took with the moto x camera on your phone you can see the pixels filling in? I don't see this when viewing other pictures I have in my gallery taken with other devices.
Just noticed it only does it when using the stock "gallery" app. When I use the "pictures" app is does not happen.
I have noticed this on other phones running the stock Android gallery app as well. Pictures above a certain size load lazily.
On another note, QuickPic is the bomb. It will do this as well though.

Yes it does, I just tried it. !!
Do you mean that the photo is slightly blurry and then becomes sharper after a second or two? This is just to make the gallery faster. It loads the thumbnail as you swipe through the gallery quickly for speed, and only loads the full image (much clearer and sharper) after you've stopped on a photo for a second or two. If it loaded every photo in full size it would be very slow and you wouldn't be able to swipe as
It is perfectly normal.
I set my default application to view pictures as the google photos app. Is there a way to change this to gallery?

Settings / apps / google photo's app... there should be a "Launch by Defaults" at the bottom you can Clear defaults. Clear it, then you can select the app you want next time you open a picture.
Thank you!
So I think we all can agree that Google Photos is the best gallery app. Only problem is there's no way to disable it and even if we decide to just not use it.
The main issue is that it's linked directly to the camera app as in if I need to view a photo right after I take a snap.. The photo preview icon next to the shutter icon links directly to the Samsung Gallery app.
Is there any way to change this preferably without root !
Google camera app can be installed on LOS 18.1 and yes, indeed: it does take very good photos!
But on the downside, when I tap the just taken picture, it tells me in order to view my photos I need to download another Google photo/gallery app, which will, according to the description, sort my photos automatically and upload it to Google drive. That are two things I surely don't want!
Is there any way to make the Google camera app work with some other, locally installed gallery app?
you can organize and view your photos in any other image manager.
however for the issue of looking at the picture right after it's taken and not be redirected to google photos I dont know the solution.
there are tons of gcam mods (<3).
perhaps one of those managed to change this behaviour
Thanks for the hint about gcam mods! I will try to find a suitable mod for me.
I know I can use any gallery app I want, but I find it annoying that Google want to force my pictures onto their servers, just because I want to use their camera app. Pictures I shoot are nothing that needs to be hidden, but I also don't want them "in the cloud". And I certainly don't want an algorithm made by G to sort my pictures!
