Has anyone noticed that when you have the phone in landscape mode and you have the keyboard out and you are typing you loose wifi signal? Then remove left hand and signal comes back? I will have to make a video when I get home and have a camera to do so. Anyone else?

Just tried it and nope...My signal doesnt even change 1 bar.
Your holding it wrong lol

I tried this and I did lose one bar of wifi. I also tried with the keyboard closed by covering the top of the phone with my hand, and also lost a bar of wifi. But it was not a deathgrip issue where signal was instantly lost. Guess this just means the wifi antenna is on the top of the G2, and obstructing it has an effect.

Defiantly not holding it wrong...and not apply hardly any pressure. I didn't notice it at all at home...but at my in laws. Possibly not a very strong wifi signal but makes 100% difference when I have my hand over the top of the phone. I've had an email waiting to send and as soon as I removed my hand the email sent. Will post video hopefully tonight showing how little pressure is applied and how strongly the signal is affected.

I don't lose any bars from my wifi. That's odd though.

Was wondering if anyone else has this issue. My slide did this stock and also does this on any rom I install. When scrolling through a web page I can scroll down just a little bit but when I let go of the screen it will just scroll all the way to the bottom by itself. Its like it lags and then just endlessly scrolls on its own. My behold 2 did this but my cliq didn't. Anyone else ran into this and know if there is a fix?

I have had that happen to me a few times, I always thought it was me not the phone but I guess not.
Have experienced this as well.

ok maybe im not nutz
I have had this happen to me I thought I had a bad touchpad or sumthin, I have even had it click to scroll all by its self even tho im not touching the pad. somtimes I think it may be do to shadow moving over the pad.
bhang
Happens to me too. It seems to be when the phone pauses for a moment like it's busy and then continues... If you happen to be scrolling during that moment it reads your movement as much faster than it actually was and sends your page flying at light speed.

Almost never happened on my G1. Happened ALL THE TIME on my Cliq, and I get it maybe once a day on the Slide. Its annoying, and you would think there would be some kind of fix for it.
Yeah, big time problem with the Slide. BY FAR my biggest gripe with this phone is the HORRIBLE touch screen. It feels nice, but it's not very accurate. They definitely skimped here.
I am experiencing a iphone like death grip on my atrix. Anyone else?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
Nope, not one bit.
Edit: By not one bit, I mean that under normal circumstances of me holding the phone how I normally would it does not drop even 1 bar. I've made no attempt to purposefully smother it because thats well... stupid. If it works how you use it, why do you care if you can go out of your way to smother out a signal?
care to elaborate?
tried it, like on any phone out there...it goes down a bit but not badly. I even tried to smother it with both hands while running pandora, it dropped one bar. I'm not concerned with it. Motorola has been building radios for a long time, they know how to do that stuff.
Every single phone loses some signal when you basically cover it with your hands and squeeze. The reason the iphone was singled out so bad was because you could basically use one finger to short out the antenna and lose like 3 plus bars.

Although I did manage to make it lose 2 bars of signal strength. My Vulcan death grip did not work. I then realized it was a Borg, as it proceeded to assimilate me.
Mine usually goes to 1 bar when i hold the phone in left hand. Was just curious.

goes to one bar from full bars or were you already in a low signal area?
My girlfriends rooted (MIUI) evo is not registering all keys. I have tried cyanogen and miui.us 1.7.1 and 1.7.8. They keyboard functions but misses I, k and n.
I noticed actually that it effects the screen keyboard or not and doesn't register in that specific grid. Any tips? We've tried reflashing and wiping data etc. Nothing seems to be working.

When the keyboard isn't up, do those areas of the screen register?
No they don't.

Sounds like a defective screen.
If you have TEP the Sprint store can assist you.
Just recently occurred though. The device hasn't been hit with any excessive shock and the screen shows no signs of damage. Well see what we cab do though

It may just be defective.
Electronics fail.
My Evo's back button light went out the other day and it's never been dropped.
Happens.
Bummer. Guess I'll have to unroot it so she can turn it in and get it replaced.

Yeah, as long as there's no obvious physical damage it should be a very quick repair process.
I've seen some complaints about the wireless network performance on the 7.0. Having broken one and subsequently taken it apart, I couldn't help but notice what was causing the problem.
The circled area is shows the antenna on the back case, right where one would hold the device. Seems like a silly design, is this normal?

Never had ANY problems with ANY Wi-Fi connectivity or networks! But yes!, I agree that is NOT a really good spot for the sensor! :silly:
Sounds like the problem the iphone had awhile back where if you positioned your hand just right you lost all cell signal

The $14 Belkin case at office despot allows you to hold it however you like. You can assume other cases do as well.

Funny you should mention it. JUst this morning I had my tab dockd on my keyboard with a strong wifi signal. I took it off the dock to use it and lost my signal. I put in back on my dock and the signal came back nice and strong. I figured holding it was interferring with wifi.

I think the Jelly Bean OTA has taken care of that,so far when I hold it I don't see any bars dropping.

Being a soldier in Afghanistan with a whopping <56k download speed, this matters a lot. I've noticed many times where laptop folk, or even other iPad folks, would benefit from having a signal, where I would have none! I've noticed that I would literally drop a bar of wifi if I held it in landscape, with my right hand over the Samsung symbol...very lame indeed. When I return to the state's,I hope this won't be too much of a problem.

You will get a good signal if you have a good router, for example,I have downloaded 1 gb of maps for my gps program and the speed was 1mbps, if I hold with left hand drops to 100 kbps, the connection only disappears if cover all left corner, that only happens on purpose (its not the way i usually hold the tab)

phone antenna is located on the bottom of the phone which might be why you have better signal while its upside down
Same problem on my LG G2 D800. Its annoying. Here my thread:
