Hi there,
Well each time i get a voice MMS, I long hold it and save it but i cant find it anywhere. Ive checked my SD card and not there. I only can hear the recordings i've made and/or sent.
Any clue on where i might be able to find it the ones i've saved?
Thanks

hey everyone
i'm new to this forum, have read around and found alot of useful info about the tytn.
but there are two issues i havent seen anyone talk about on this or may be its just me.
first, i cant seem to find an option to text message contacts that are saved in my SIM. Can you not message contacts in your SIM? or am i doing something wrong here?
Secondly, how do i set my ringtone as the alarm tone as well? because the sounds for alarm are too short and i need someting that will play for a while.
can anyone help me out with these ? any help will be appreciated. Thank You in advance
For the alarm tone, you need to copy a .wav file to the WINDOWS folder of you device. It should then show up in the drop down menu on the alarm page.
Unfortunately, you can only use .wav files and not .mp3. I've also noticed that files larger than 30kb wont play which means the tones would be short.
oh ok.. i tried to put .mp3 file in the windows because i noticed the alarm tones are there but i did not see it when i was setting the alarm so i guess it should be .wav and no more than 30kb i guess?
thanx alot.. going to try that
is there a way set different tones for receiving a text message and different tone for receiving a call? i did not see an option for that
also about text messaging.. i cant see an option of texting a contact if they're saved in my sim.. is there a way around it?
thank you for your help
anyone....?

when you open contacts and select a sim contact it asks you do either to make a call or send a text

thanx for the info.. i put a .wav file into windows folder and the size was 798kb and it worked
figured out everythin except messaging sim contacts..
i go in contacts.. there are no contacts so i go into menu .. sim manager.. and go into menu .. no option of text messaging.. i even keep the scroll wheel pressed on a contact and only options are to edit, delete or call.. etc but no text messaging.. so i'm guessing the contacts have to saved on the phone !?
You're not the only one, I had the same Issue with my SIM contacts and text messaging also
Spent HOURS on the phone arguing with the iMate Support Helpdesk guys who all use the same stock-standard response "Have you soft-reset? Try a hard reset? I know you say you've done it but do it now while Im on the phone? Didnt work? I dont know then?"
Problem no longer exists with WM6, I also made a thread on a local forum:
http://pressf1.co.nz/showthread.php?t=86250
Unfortunately I dont think they're about to start patching WM5 for us, so I figured it was time to go back to WM6 again (Using Schaps 4.30 this time), and so far so good... pics up my SIM contacts fine in messagins now!
thats a releif .. thanx!!
so i guess i'l b upgrading to a different rom soon enough
Im trying to figure out a way to change the tone that plays when I receive a new text message. What Im trying to use is a MP3 and I cant find out how to do this.
Anyone know how or if it's possible?

You are lying, this is very easy to do and has been posted in dozens of places. Please google.
Why would I lie. I googled but only found WM5 stuff.

your thread is obviously the number one result in there. am i the only one that finds that amazing
is there a way to save sms text messages to the memory ? or one individual message of a conversation thread ?
im interesting too
anyone know somethng?
Sorry, but I really don't get what you're asking.
Could you explain what you want and why you want it? All your texts are (obviously) stored on the phone, so why do you want any other storage?
i think he meant to export the smses
yes, sorry i wasnt very clear. i was getting fed up with sms's taking so long to load up that i thought id save (export) them somewhere and clear the memory to hopefully speed things up , anyway ive got the latest official sms fix and its speeded things up substantially.
im still interested in how you export sms's though so if i have some important info i want to save for a long time i can , ie transfer to mr external hard drive somehow ?? thanks in advance

I use Microsoft MyPhone to back up all the data on my phone each night, and if I go to the web interface and archive the text messages, it deletes them off my phone next time I sync. They're still safe in the online store, and can be un-archived at any time and therefore synced back to the phone again.

Do you have to pay for the service? I'm interested too. I want to cook the rom but i do not want to loose all the messages. is there another way to back them up???
Its free, unless you take up the extra services.

There is a NEW SMS update which resolves the SMS loading issue plus providing a few more enhancements. I have installed directly to phone and works and it should. I can now start replying to a message while the long conversation thread loads in the background.
thanks guys, yes i have the update and its much better, ill try the microsoft backup suggestion.
Hi guys,
Please read before clicking back lol. (I have a TG01)
Thanks to Markinus and Endrix for all their hard work on the TG01 build to date, but we have a general issue. The last build was left with the problem where text messages are saved to the SIM card rather than phone Memory. This is a problem because when returning to windows, the texts are still saved to the SIM card!
Either, we need an app or registry tweak for windows to switch it back again, or we need a way to switch the android build to save the SMS's to the phone memory instead.
Can anyone help please? (With either a suggestion, or perhaps guidance so that I might be able to write something (I'm a developer, but only in Java J2EE btw). I'm happy to attempt a hack, or create something I just have absolutely no idea where to start.
Thanks for any guidance
There MUST be a way in the kernel to do this surely? If it's currently saving all the SMS messages to the SIM card, there MUST be a setting or a bit of code that changes/defines where messages are saved?
Uh? This an Android forum & you are talking about windows!!
Come again?
So, I've been using a Nexus 4, and now have a Nexus 5.
I use T-Mobiles Visual Voicemail. I have several important voicemails stored on the Nexus 4. I'd love to transfer the data to my Nexus 5 so I can listen to it on that phone as well.
Several backup apps I've looked at don't save the voicemails that are stored on the phone. I know I can send the text of the message, but sometimes it's not clear. I know also I can save the audio as an AMR file, but that still doesn't get it into T-Mobile Visual Voicemail on the new phone. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks very much for anyone's help, as I've searched this forum, and others, and can't find a specific answer.
