For some reason it feels like the speaker is considerably lower than the speakers in the D1. Is there any app/script or something I can do to make my speakers louder?
Good question. There is a noticeable difference in the volume.
Sent from my rooted DROID2 using XDA App
This has been asked many times and there are no solutions yet. It's still much louder than HTC phones, so we should be thankful for that.
I know you can boost the volume on iphone's which are jailbroken...
I'll check out what they did to boost the volume, maybe that will help a bit i guess

There's an app in the market called louder volume hack... Not sure if it'll work on the droid, but it works well for me on the hero
On the devs website they say that LVH won't work for any of the motorola phones.

Ok, never mind then
I checked into it yesterday after reading the orginal post. He has the files that you could push manually to your phone. Someome could probably get the files and figure out why it doesn't work and patch it? Not sure though.

I really hope so because this phone is ridiculously quiet. I really like some hardware updates on this phone compared to D1, but the D1 just seemed like a more user-friendly device.

So I'm sure you all have had the same issue. Notification sounds not being loud enough. I remember the aosp clone rom including some hck or something that increased the noti volume to phone call volumes. Anyone know where or how to obtain this? Its definitely useful and idk how the devs haven't caught on to this after so long.

dowload audio manager widget(free on market or u can buy full version for a few bucks) use that to control all volume aspects on your phone. Alaram, media, alerts(SMS or regular notification), in call volume, etc. works great, deff agree that the volume is low out of box but this will do the trick for ya
I use quick settings, it has a check box that locks the notification volume to the ringer volume so I can adjust both at the same time with the rocker switch.
Use these files and replace them in the system/etc/audio folder on your rom. These files will increase the volume. You should be able to use root explorer.
Flashable patch.

Im sorry but iBeats and Beats period sucks.
For 150$ pair of earphones that the bass isn't even that good which is what their meant for and it goes in n out in one ear. ha for 75$ get the Klipsch s4 their the best for the bass and top of the line klipsch for earphones when it comes down to bass. And very durable.

Or some $10 in-ear headphones, almost all of these have great bass and clear audio since they don't have to be as amplified since they're closer to your ear drum.

I tried, but liked vodoo better, as this mod permanently increased some bass effect, with vodoo you can control it. But to most people it won't matter, as it works good enough without tinkering anything.
I use them together and I can notice a more clarity and bass. Of course I have a pair of $200 DJ headphones so maybe that helps
Also this isn't a port and doesn't belong in development. Thanks for posting it though, we follow the rules strictly over in the Captivate forums too.

Welcome...glad i could help
So i decided to root my G2. When i did i got a phone call and could not hear the other person. I decided to unroot my phone and I still have the problem. I don't think its a hardware issue because i have never dropped the phone from a large height. Ironic that it would be but I don't think thats the case.
If anyone has a fix please reply! I've tried SuperWipe and Wipe through ClockWork and factory reset and everything!! I don't know what i haven't tried yet but a fix would be very appreciated.
Thanks for your time.
Probably need some more information regarding what ROM you are running. I know there was trouble with some older ICS ROMs (and GB if I recall, its been a long time) where the mic pickup was terrible and people could barely hear you talking during a call.
EDIT: Opps. Just saw you were talking about hearing other people, not them hearing you. Still, need more information regarding the ROM you're on.
Just got the same problem on Andromadus 99. I will check if its software or hardware related in a couple of hours when I get home.

Go download Volume Booster from the play store. I included the link at the bottom.
After some trial and error this one seems to work the best on the galaxy s4. I turned it on and had to immediately turn my media volume down because it was too loud lol.

None of those apps have any effect. Volume booster just jumped my volume slider all the way up, which is where it was already. Im coming from the htc one...and that phone definitely pushed my headphones with the same chipset. I dislike having to max the volume because it introduces distortion. I think all EVO3d users jumped ship from HTC to Samsung because of that phone. No amount of roms or tweaks can save that phone.
Not sure if it still works.been out of the game for a while. You can try qpst. Its qcom. You'll need to download drivers. Don't mess around with it if you aren't very sure what you're doing. Not very user friendly. You can really mess things up. Cool program though.
