Has anyone seen sense ui running on any galaxy s phone?

Th only way that will happen is if you find a way to port it over. It was tried on the Droid but was not very successful. Your best bet is to either buy a HTC device or get widgets that look similar.

Your best bet would be to just use launcher pro.

you can get an incredible

I wanted the power of the fascinate used with sense but got I gotta pic and choose what's more important. Thanx guys.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App

The power of the Fascinate would never be used in Sense. Its used in....games

I believe someone, maybe even a couple people said they would attempt to port over SenseUI when Froyo is released. Don't know who they were or if they still intend to do so, but I think there is a thread about it in the development section somewhere as people were looking for the new SenseUI from the Desire HD.

Might be a port one day. Lol. I'm not sure why though when there's no shortage of HTC devices.

[Q] Iphone rom

Can someone make a rom similar to the iphone's ui any replies would be great thanks
Sure, I'll get right on that.
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
SOMEONE can, but I doubt anyone will. If youre running CM6 you could probably make a theme or somthing... try checking in the regular android theme section.
Moved to general as not development
Yeah there's an iphone theme on cm6, its ugly though. Well. I dislike iphones so that's just my opinion.

China company already has, it's called MiUi. Not sure if it runs on the Aria though. There was a report that it was sending info back to China, so caveat emptor.

I've been using their MiUi web browser, which was released separately, and is actually pretty sweet:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829027
A guy translated it to English, and the MiUi guys saw it, and are making an official English port.
Yes I know miui but someone has to port it

If you are talking about the team I think you are, they said they are waiting for official froyo to do it..
Once official froyo source drops. Things will go more smoothly.. its amazing that our devs here have made the progress they have given the lack of necessity available.

I was just about to make a thread asking about the development of this Galaxy Sense we heard about last month.
With launcher pro a custom dock and beautiful widgets you can make your homescreens look just like the sense ui if you want it for the ascetics or as a placeholder til it gets ported

Hero/evo/epic I ran cm6 on both htc devices. I rather have a pure aosp. I don't like none of the manufacturers gui's.

The Hero was the first android phone I ever owned, I loved sense on it because there were so many ways to customize it to my liking, tw just sucks, I want to go back to the evo so I can go back to the sense + froyo + CM6, but the epic's keyboard and excellent performance are keeping me here

Yeah I know alot of people like it pure google.
but to me it just isnt appealing or as functional.
the hero was my first android device so I did get spoiled
with htc sense. Just to my likings that it brought a better
experience and refresh to the Android interface. Widgets and apps.
I prefer it over TW. There are just a few things I prefer TW
over sense per say.
I think the rom was released and then discontinued for the galaxy s i9000 due to the devs having muliple issues that they were not able to resolve. Link to post --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877902
The only thing I ever liked about Sense UI were the widgets and the Weather effects.
With LauncherPro, you can get pretty much identical widgets, and then Beautiful Widgets will give you the same look of the clock widget. Plus, LauncherPro is infinitely customizable and you can do pretty much anything with it....
Sense UI has always been extremely laggy and slow in all the times I've used it, as a ROM port on my Nexus, and also stock on the Evo/Hero.
Wouldn't mind trying it out again on my Epic though!
The older version of fancy widget is also a wonderful alternative to the sense clock/weather widget.

Since the htc shift came out has anybody been able to get the sense to work in portrait mode... Is anybody even trying? I love to leave my phone on the desk with the kickstand open

You could use a different launcher.
But what if we like sense and the widgets? I would like to see this too. Virus got it working on his desire z port. I don't see why this isn't possible.

You sort of answered your own question. He ported a different version of sense that has that feature over to the Evo. That's how it's possible. Use a ROM that has it ported. I think several others are working on Z ROMs. Myn's got one in beta from what I hear.
Or if you're patient, I think we generally expect that version of Sense to make it's way to the Evo in an official release. Nothing's set in stone, of course.

Sense 3.0

Do you think custom ROMs will allow us to have HTC's Sense UI 3.0 on this phone?
Oh... boy... here we go.. i admire you for having the balls to ask about Sense UI in Samsung thread. Hehe. Short answer is NO!!!

You never know.. The original SGS has turned out a terrific developers phone so if the SGS2 has unlocked bootloaders i cant see why not
If htc sense is that important though just wait from the sensation

I'd love to have it, with the recent reports showing the horsepower that it have coupled with Sense 3.0 that would be the perfect phone to have
If people want the HTC Sense experience then they should look at a HTC Phone. Although a Port is possible, its very time consuming and by the time someone actually port's it over with all the drivers working, your device will be close to the yearly refresh and you will want the next best thing. This will leave the developer in a limbo where his efforts didnt truly pay off.

It's not possible, Galaxy S is half baked, Nexus S also try, half baked. Samsung uses totally different structure on android Nexus S can't even port TouchWiz and its the same manufacturer. I would love to get S II spec wise it blows the Sensation out.

I see you have a Motorola Atrix 4G. What do you think about it? I'm in doubt between Atrix, S II and Sensation.
Thank you!
Ugh, how can people even like Sense. It is the worst android UI out of all the custom ones out there.

Id say its all about taste. Personally I think motorola's UI is the worst, followed closely by the apple wannabe touchwiz. Funny, I actually hated sense as well at first, but now that im using it for a while, I LOVE IT.
Also, its because htc has added soooo much functionality, like finding/wiping/ringing from anywhere(laptop) incase its lost, or stolen, etc. Plus auto-backup of messages, apprx 100 very useful widgets, plus may apps wich save you a lot of time if you had to download one by one. Basically, its a complete package that looks good and offers functionality that no other manufacturer can even come close to, especially being built in from start. no headaches. I myself wish it could be ported but I doubt, especially with how "involved" its gotten lately

I had a Galaxy S, then Atrix and now Inspire. Next I'm buying Galaxy S II because the bootlogger is unlocked and I want the light weight, dual core processor power and video enhancements.
The Inspire is amazing. I like it far better than the Atrix because I can put custom roms on it. I was able to root the Atrix and do a few modifications but it was very limited. I strongly recommend the Inspire.
The Sensation is locked down as is the Atrix. If you want a good out of the box phone Atrix is as good as you get until the Galaxy S II arrives. Sensation will be great but probably about the same as the Galaxy S II.
It is hard to recommend a phone without knowing what you do with your phone. For me the unlocked boot logger is the difference between buying and not buying.
Personally I prefer Sense.I think that Samsung have basically copied the iPhone in design and UI. If someone could remove the native Samsung bloat and add sense, all would be good in the world(for me at least)

Couldn't have put it better, dude. trouble is, can we have the best of both worlds?

I think we can. If enough people that have bought a SGS2 ask for sense then I am sure someone(developer) will be willing to design it for SGS2. From what I have seen of custom roms so far, I think that there are some more than capable developers out there that could do it. If I could write code I definitely would(perhaps I should start learning. The only question is can an old dog(me) learn new tricks?????)

[REQ] Touch Wiz Based Rom for g2?

Has anyone made one? Do you think its worth porting?
Most people with touchwiz want to get rid of it. Those who don't have it want it. Lulz.

I love the contacts app for touchwiz, sliding left or right to send messages or call, easier then opening the contact then clicking call or message (because you dont have to open it, less to load, less time wasted).
I think touch wiz is pretty. i love the dialer as well. surprised no one ported it yet
Touchwiz is great. Some people hate the launcher and are misinformed to think the launcher is what lagged out the vibrant. My kb5 vibrant with touchwiz runs great...I love all of the touchwiz features.

Lol I know. Samsung needs to learn how to use proper file systems and they would be alot better off. They finally did with the vibrant 4g, too bad there is ZERO dev interest. I actually owned it for awhile till I realized it was never gonna go anywhere. They barely have a half broken clockwork mod that has not been updated since 4/24 or even a much as an update from the dev about what is going on. Makes me EXTREMELY thankful for our wonderful community.
