If you still need it.

When I tried it, I saved it as original.mbr but if I went to properties it then said original.mbr.htm - and it didn't work when I tried to adb it to the phone. How do you save it as just the .mbr without the .htm adding back on?

you need to go into the folder options in windows so that files will display their extension

Use a different browser.

thank you to the guy that actually met my request and hosted the file for me. Haven't tried it yet but I will first thing in the morning after work. Is the file supposed to only be 512b though? Al

Yeah, don't thank the original source, which works just fine, sans folks not understanding that browsers try to open files instead of saving them sometimes...

No need to feel unappreciated! I tried Firefox ie and chrome and had problems with each browser. I just want the damn file so I can fix my phone. All credit of course goes to you for the original source plus instructions. You are the man and as soon as I get my phone fixed keep your eyes peeled for a nice donation. Thank you for everything you've done good sir, but thank you most of all for your modesty lol

Just for future reference: I'm betting you left-clicked on the link then right-clicked on the page that had "ƒðŸ1ƒ 1ƒ 7Uª" at the top and selected "Save page as" What you were supposed to do was right-click on the link and select (for Firefox and Chrome) "save link as..." and then click save. This way it saves the original file.

The attached zip file has 2 exe files in it. Just unzip it and copy both files to your device. It's pretty obvious from the name what each of the files does, but you need to restart your device for the changes to take effect. (Please note - this will only turn off the default windows lockscreen. If you've got a different one installed this will not affect it.)
Basically, run lockscreen_disable and restart your device. You can run lockscreen_enable at a later date if you ever need to turn the lockscreen back on.
Hope it helps mate

You can either unzip the 2 files (both exe files) and copy them to your phone, or copy the zip file to the phone and unzip it there. Either way doesn't matter.
Once unzipped, you click the exe file of your choice and it runs, but you won't see anything change till you restart your phone.
I really threw them together quickly, which is why they're so basic, but they should do the trick though
Thanks John. I've been looking for ways to disable my Exchange email policy lockscreen.
Nothing I've seen and tried works so far.
Will your exe files work to disable/enable this Lockscreen?

I ran into this problem too running the Sprint based Fresh rom. While Jcase's Market Fix will fix the problem with missing protected apps, it wont fix the missing Verizon apps.
To do that, I used Root Explorer on my phone and opened the "build.prop" file located in the System folder. Open the file in the included text editor and scroll down to until you see this line:
"ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric"
The correct value for the line should be "310012". Sprint roms will have the value as "310120".
Save the changes and exit. After reboot, check your Market. The right-most tab on the main page will read "Verizon" now instead of "Downloads".
Or flash this handy zip from recovery.

I know this is probably elementary, but is there a step by step post anywhere for flashing a zip file?
I just rooted last night and put the first custom ROM on my phone. This is uncharted territory for me. Everything is great so far except for these missing apps.
I tried the root explorer method, but it would only let me read the text, not edit.
EDIT: Ignore this post. GREAT SUCCESS!! Too easy.

I was doing it the hard way - download the app in a HTC/VZW Rom, copy them to SD, restore the Sprint ROM (Aloysius V12) and install.
Looking at them now in the Market.

For those who need desktop in the browser...

I was looking at the galaxy tab section and saw a thread regarding useragents. As many of you know the old about:debug trick doesn't work on the latest 2.2 roms. Well some listed that about:useragent worked on his tab. So I got curious and tried it and guess what? It works!! A popup comes up when you type it that lets you choose between a whole hunch of useragents. Try it for yourself,

Confirmed this totally works with Hulu. What you need to do is uninstall flash player that you get from the marked with root explorer or whatever method you use and then install the flash_fixed from the link below and then set the useragent to desktop and it'll work.

I am getting Hulu required flash player 10.0.32 or higher. How did you get pass this screen? I know the flash from market is 10.1.1+ so I am not sure why it isn't working.
I downloaded the Fixed Flash from the thread you linked and it said it was updated to the lastest version from market as well. hmmm.

I renamed the file to install_flash_player.apk and copied it to my sd card, then using root explorer I uninstalled the existing file from /system/app and copied the renamed .apk over and installed it in /system/app. Then I opened a browser window and just did the about:useragent trick, then went to hulu.com and clicked on the first video. It took about 30 seconds to load over 3g, but it started playing the video. Like they said in the previous posts, it doesn't stick, so you're probably going to have to do it every time you want to go to a site that normally blocks mobile useragents, but it does work.

That's exactly what I did. I even rebooted after uninstalling install_flash_player.apk and moving the new fixed_flash.apk (renamed to install_flash_player.apk). I then applied the desktop useragent and to my dismay it told me that I needed flash above 10.0.32.
Yeap,, watching hulu as I type... little lag though

The only other way I've gotten it to work in the past was by adding it to the zip file of the rom I'm using and reflashing - open the bionix/macnut (or whatever zip file), delete the install_flash_player.apk file, then copy the hacked .apk that's been renamed install_flash_player.apk to the zip and flash. Now that I think about it though, I did have some trouble doing this on the bionix 2.2 rom before the flash update, and I've been running macnut R10 for the past few days so it may depend on what rom you're on.

File transfer/system folder mod trouble

I'm running EB01 2.6 sc. Have been trying to add shut down animation but my phone won't let me modify system folder. I've flashed back to stock and used a different method for root access and tried several different file managers. Whenever I try to make a change, it tells me the folder was created successfully or the move was successful but no changes actually happen. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hmm, There is a shutdown.apk in system/app that has appeared within the last 4 versions of super clean. I bet that has something to do with your shutdown ani's not being recognized or appearing.
good day.

It worked!!! Thanks a ton.......such a weird problem...why would only that particular file manager work???
Then again........maybe it's not entirely fixed. I'm now allowed to add system folders. I wasn't before. But I don't see a "move" option anywhere, to move shutdown.ogg (or whatever I'm trying to move) I only see Copy and Cut. When I choose one of those, it says "Prepare to Copy" (or Cut), but never actually does so.
Just rename the original to shutdown.ogg.old or oldshutdown.ogg . I remember that it says preparing to copy and it actually will copy the file/folder so all you have to do is navigate to the right folder and hit the clipboard icon to paste.

Removing stock email app ok?

I did, and so far nothing out of the ordinary has happened.
Its OK to remove. I always do as I use Gmail as well.

The only ill result I could think of is for any future (haha yeah) official updates which check stock apps. Is there an easy way to put it back? Where are general instructions for deleting and reinstating stock apps anyway?

I just use Root Explorer, move the .apk from system/app to a folder in my sd card I named backup.
Re-installing is as easy as dragging back to system/app and fixing permissions.
The easy fix is to just rename the email file and add .old to the orig name so you can find it again. Reboot and your set to go.

Ha. My thought process before even asking was "It can't be 'Windows' simple, can it?" Guess so. XD
Do you need to use CWM to fix permissions when reversing that?

No it's a long press then go to permissions and change it so that the first column has all 3 checked, then the next column has only the top checked and the last has nothing checked.

Root Explorer.
The stock email app is the first thing I remove from any ROM I'm about to flash. I've always preferred K-9 Mail.
Use the sdx app remover. It automatically backs it up when removing
