Adobe flash - myTouch 3G, Magic General

Is the flash 10.1 availible now for the ARMv6 processor which is mt3g and slide
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App

I think you probably would have heard about it if it was. Just forget it, all you'll ever have on armv6 is flash lite.

Then why bother with 2.2 if we aren't gonna get flash full? That's what makes 2.2 worth it

Because 2.2 has other new features? I really couldn't care less about flash...

Flash would probably be a drag on the phone's cpu which is probably why Adobe hasn't implemented flash for these chipsets.

Mytouch Slide Update

I called Tmobile and HTC today... The Tmobile rep didnt have a clue as usual so i went ahead and called HTC and the rep told me that the update will becoming out later this month. I hope this is true
I assume your talking about Froyo. I hope your right.

Later this month sounds about right. The G2 was released. If T-Mobile gave us froyo before the g2 was released then people who have the Slide won't get the g2. Its all about marketing. The only thing is, why would a rep tell you that before that information is even released to Engadget, etc. (no offense)

I would think they want as much people who have the slide to simply just run impatient and switch over to the g2. Marketing! I don't think the reps get news before us. They're not the major players (no offense to any reps who are reading). I think they get the news the same time as us or at least a day or 2 before us, but then again I could be wrong.

You can root and then simply unroot to get your warranty back, but I don't suggest you root. Its not easy to root the slide, also alot of people who root the slide switch back to stock because they realize that not everything works with a flashed rom.

I'm running the stock rom just that it's rooted so that I can install & run the wireless tether apk. The stock rom that comes with the phone suits my needs. I've tried custom roms on my G1, but they are never quite 100% that everything is working. After the fun wears off, I reverted back to stock so that everything will work.

I've been using CR_MOD for a month and I like it. Everything work + a2sd + wireless tether. I can even flash live wallpaper and use it with ADW. I can even remove the built-in swype and install another version of swype which support more languages. I'm really satisfied with this rom.

I do not mean to be rude, but this has been discussed before. According to Adobe our phone's processor lacks the mhz to run flash smoothly. I honestly think with Froyo 2.2 our phone should be able to handle flash 10.1, but that's just my opinion. Who knows, Adobe might surprise us and give us flash anyway.

Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
Actually... if you google "flash 10.1 eclair 2.1" you get a guide as your first result on how you can get full flash on any 2.1 rom... sorry people who are running 2.2 but it only works if you have some sort of flash lite on the phone... as long as im aware... all 2.2 roms are based from source... which does not include any form of flash lite... basically, what it does is upgrade you flash lite to flash 10.1... it works perfectly for mee... i tried running it at 600 mhz... it ran too choppy... i would recommend using dumfuqs overclocked kernels to about 868 mhz... which is what im running... and it runs really smooth...

HTC Update over the air 2.2

As we all know that the HTC Aria a few days ago was updated to 2.2 by AT&T and I guess Flash Player 10.1 is availible now can us rooted people get that aswell or not? And can u please tell me if this is true or not (the flash player part) thanks

It's Flash Lite.

also, if you're rooted and apply the official 2.2 update, you will be unrooted and as of now there is not way to re-root.

With some Gingerbread ROMS already out and very polished, like RoyalGinger there's no reason it wouldn't handle any app that comes out in the coming months. The phone is quite fast as it is running at the stock clock speed of 1Ghz, and with the phone being able to be overclocked all the way up to 1.8Ghz there's lots of potential. I actually ran mine continuously overclocked to 1.5Ghz without any ill effect, but I took it down to 1.2Ghz because 1.5Ghz was just unnecessary and might actually rob me of some battery life during the day. It also has 768MB of RAM, which is more than most other flagship phones offer, like the G2x, that thing only has 512MB of RAM. Solid performance beyond the stock 1Ghz speed, plenty of RAM, and VERY polished and fully functional Gingerbread ROM's pretty much make it as futureproof as it can possibly be.

Well its gonna have gingerbread soon confirmed by HTC thats a good sign if u dnt want to root : ) I think it can keep up with upcomin apps for a year or so.... its a stable phone I put this phone thru hell I flashed alot of roms & modifications, normal everyday gettin out the car & phone drops but phone still goin strong so it should last..... Right now these dual-core phones are comin out so single core phones will pretty much die off....
I forgot to say that even at 1.5Ghz it still made it through a typical day with moderate use, and that was with a stock-based ROM, with something like RoyalGinger there's no question it would run for 14+ hours at 1.5Ghz under normal usage. This phone is a true powerhouse.

Probably people leaving T-mobile or trying to sell their phones to get a G2X, which from what I can see on the G2X forum is quite buggy right now. People report random reboots and issues with backlight bleeding on the screen on the G2X. I was thinking of getting one, but I'll pass on the G2X. I'll keep my eye on the HTC Sensation when it comes out, the main thing that attracts me to the Sensation is the new version of Sense and the bigger screen. However, I'd be perfectly happy to run my mt4g for the next two years.
Im running royalginger & I get easily with moderate use +12 hours overclocked at 1.3 ghz which is all basically u need, phone was fast out the box
No cons. At all. Solid build, VERY fast(never had a lag), HSPA+ 4G,etc. etc.
I love this phone but if u ate worrying about 2 yyears might as well get a dual core for now if.u want a mytouch phone I suggest to wait for the mytouch 4g slide or if u don't prefer the keyboard than the HTC.sensation which is rumored to be released June 8th

I haven't read any of this but I own the Mytouch and I had a vibrant for about 6 months. Pros of the vibrant: screen,16gb internal, has a better gpu. Pros of Mytouch. CPU alot more snappy, overclocking is alot more easy. On the vibrant 1.4 was the fastest oc but it always crashed. Max quadrant on my Mytouch I got a 3200 oc at 1.83 but normally I stay at 1.43 get about 2600 with the vibrant highest I got was 2200 oc at 1.4. I would say if you want a good phone now go for the Mytouch if you can wait go for the galaxy s 2 . That will be Samsung at its finest! 1.2 dual core.... dont get me started

U wont understand. Devs of the galaxy will. Toichwiz is a whole new system. It merged itself with the system. Like HTC sense. You can't simply delete the files. The system is dependent on it and will result in a boot loop. That's the touchwiz launcher you can remove but not touchwiz itself.

So as I read is a good switch... I have the opportunity to pay $40 and made the exchange from a Vibrant to HTC my touch.
Obviously I will miss the screen, but besides that the HTC is much better..
For example, I don't have GB, I don't have GPS, I don't have CM7, I don't have camera flash, I don't have FFC, I don't have auto focus...
With the switch will be resolved?
PS. I can't wait for S II but it will be expensive at the beginning.

Thinking of switching phones. Help with another option?

I love the My touch 4G to death, but my wife doesn't seem to like it much. So, I'm need to find something to replace hers. Her's is being used unlocked on AT&t. So, does anyone have any suggestions? On eBay I can sell it for $200-240 so, i'd like to sell it and buy a replacement. It needs to be GSM (AT&T or T-Mobile phones are fine), in my price range and have similar specs. I have really can't think of anything. She hates it so bad she's using her old Samsung Magnet until I find her something :/ lol

I've never heard of a text messaging signature before.

For the text message signature she could try using Go SMS Pro in the market.
The only gsm android phone I can think of with a keyboard is the G2. I've used it in the past though and found it to be slightly slower than the MyTouch due to the smaller ram and lower processor speed. I agree that she should stick with the MyTouch.

if she wants to have a physical keyboard then your gonna have to switch phones, id say go for the mytouch 4g slide just cuz it would be a more familiar platform and cuz the g2 would be a downgrade in hardware
Hard to imagine not liking the phone over those two reasons. Swype is so much better and faster than conventional texting. And as for the signature, I'm not rooted and I use GO SMS. As already mentioned, it has the option to add a signature. Plus it's much better than the stock text. JMO. Each to their own I guess.
After a solid year with my MT4G (which I am still in love with...) I just bought the GSII
Have to say so far, this phone's bad ass.
