Anyone see the image of stuff pulled from the Logitech Revue. I just saw this and pulled a few APK's from the Logitech Revue File. Some are looking really exiting.
They have a NBA Gametime app just like Android Market, but it has video highlights and everything. looks really nice. Napster, Netflix, Twitter, CNBC and others.
I got NBA Gametime, Napster, Amazon, Twitter, CNBC to install. Netflix didn't. and they all are for a larger screen so off. but close. There also is a Youtube Search.apk that might look like the search bar in Google TV instead of whats on our phones. it would not install either. Does anyone know more about this? Just the beginning I'm sure

Is anyone working on deodexing and extracting the interesting apps like Netflix?
The link in the article just goes to the forum rather than the thread, which is pretty dumb.
So here's the actual thread:

Thanks! I tried to find the thread but couldn't. I can't wait for some of the apps now!

First post..Long time reader. My apologies if this needs to be somewhere else. Have a rooted Incredible with 2.2. Have read other threads, but am still trying to find a decent app or website for LIVE TV. I am NOT interested in video clips, old TV shows, movies or the like. Only LIVE TV like Espn, etc. ADTHE is somewhat helpful, but half the channels do not work. Some channels request that you download Veetle or Vshare. Please correct me, but I do not believe Veetle works on a mobile browser, and while I downloaded Vshare, it doesn't seem to do anything to help. Am I doing something wrong? I can in fact get some channels to work on ADTHE, but as I said, some just don't load; i.e Nickleodeon, SyFy, etc. Do any of you pros here know of any other app I need, or if there is a Veetle app for Android, or if I need to do something different. I have not only the stock browser, but also have Skyfire and Dolphin, but I get the same results with all of the browsers. This is a great forum, and I appreciate your help. thanks.
Orb.com
I put a tuner card in my pc and use orb.com website not the paid app to watch everything my tuner can tune. Also gives me access to all my music, recorded tv, folders, and can steam the webcam. Cheaper than a Slingbox and legal.
Thanks for your reply. Are you watching live TV on your PC or your Incredible? I know how to watch on my PC, but am trying to find a decent, reliable way to watch on my phone. I have checked the Market, and can't seem to find a TV tuner for mobile, or any other TV apps. Believe me, I have tried them all. If ADTHE would actually show all of the channels in their content list, that would be fine. But too many are always offline, or the like. Thanks again for your response. Anybody else know how to make all of those ADTHE channels actually work, especially Nickleodeon and SyFy? Please, live only.
I watch from my phone, anything my pc has on it or that the tuner can get, including webcams..
Orb will stream to most smart phones, you can set the output to flash, windows media .asx, or winamp .pls...
If you have Apple gadgets and the webpage wont work, try the free OrbLive app. Reviews say the paid version is kinda buggy.. I just got an touch 4th gen and it is not wanting to play... I have used Treo's, Blackberries, WinMo 6.5, and Android and have had it work great.. not sure what's up with this crapple right now...
Never knew you could do this, thanks for the info.
Is there a way I can download YouTube videos on this tab? Whether it be through a site or an app?
The answer is yes! There are many apps on Google store that can do this just put a search in
I've went to the market and typed in YouTube and tried to find something and typed in download YouTube and didn't find anything

+1 for TubeMate
Not the most appealing UI , but works good. Fair trade off. Lets you pick from different qualities. Lets you log into your YouTube account and access your Favorites and other account stuff.
The UI looks better on the a500 tablet it does on my G-Nexus phone though.
I use it all the time to quickly load my tablet or phone with music videos, then use iMediaShare to beam across to my PS3 and 360 for viewing or copying to console HDD (PS3 only).
If I only want to view/copy YouTube vids on the PS3, then I just use iMediaShare and skip the TubeMate - to - droid device step.
When would you guess we should start to see more programming added with Android TV? You should think soon as Sony starts selling next month? Also, what programs would you like to see added? I've been patiently waiting for HBO Go.
I'm waiting for Amazon instant video... I pay for it, and have been considering a third roku to replace my nexus player, simply because my Rokus have so much more going on right now. Plus, my nexus player buffers like crazy when my Rokus don't.

Amazon instant video works for me on LolliRock
I may root and rom. Is it leanback enabled? Or just the regular app?
I just installed lollirock today. Amazon instant video is not leanback enabled. Lollirock runs just like a standard stock AOSP android. Works great with a keyboard & mouse but not really well with the remote. I haven't had any luck getting the leanback launcher working. yet. Right now, I installed a different launcher to get around. I kind of miss the leanback launcher.
Leanback works just fine on LolliRock (and is in the 3rd post in that thread), however not all apps are Leanback enabled. Realistically if you run Leanback you'll also need to install Sideload Launcher which makes a separate folder for any installed apps that aren't Leanback compatible.
I've bailed on using the remote and instead use a logitech k400 keyboard, though I understand that isn't going to work for everyone.
I wonder what I am doing wrong. The launcher installs but when I try to launch an app, they all seem to give me an error

The solution is simple. And experimental, but I spoke to their dev team and they're actively testing it.
Playon.
If you've got it, sideload the playon app to your nexus player and run the server from a pc and you've got Amazon instant video, history channel, A&E, MTV, etc. Everything they've got on roku also works on the nexus player. I'm watching pawn stars right now.
Apparently they've added them in a update, anyone with a UK Sony tv able to pull and post them?
If you're saying that there's a BBC iPlayer app for Android TV that works with a remote, then I too hope that someone fills this request. It would be interesting to try it out on the Nexus Player.

Yeah BBC iPlayer, BBC News and BBC Sports were all on the Sony android tv I tried in John Lewis. Hopefully someone with one can figure it out and post them.
I'm looking for the same thing for the Australian Catch-up TV apps too.
My theory was to try and pull an update from the Sony support web site and extract the apps from there
(e.g. UK: http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/KD-55X8505C)
I've only looked briefly, but it's not obvious what the file format is though.
From what I've read, the Sony TVs might use a MediaTek SoC (arm based) whereas the Nexus Player is x86, so I'm unsure if this will even work.
I can help extract from the update pkg, if only i could open the pkg file on my mac... any help here?

Hey, There are some 3rd party apps available for ABC, and SBS at this thread http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2447003
I would happily post this and any other UK apps that you guys want, however, I cannot seem to find the iplayer apk or any of the other catchup channel apks. The only one that I can find in relation to catchup services is the youview apk.
It's possible that the youview apk contains all the other catchup apks as the catchup services are integrated into youview.
The only way of using youview is setting it as the default tuner for the TV and it then takes over as the EPG and actual TV watching app.
It's also possible that installing the youview apk will also install the catchup services (iplayer, all4 etc...) and you could choose not to use youview as the main TV tuner but still get the other apps.
Hopefully this all makes sense.
I have looked in system apps and user apps during my search, if there is anywhere else to hunt these apks down in the file system then please point me to it.

This isn't to do with the Sony apps or the VouView app, but there is also a Nvidia Shield iPlayer apk specifically for Android TV that would probably be better to approach for getting iPlayer working on the Nexus Player.
This obviously doesn't fix the problem of 4OD and the other YouView apps, as they're probably not standalone apps, but at least it's one step closer, and would hopefully get iPlayer working at the very least. The iPlayer app consists of 2 parts, there's the main app which is just iPlayer, and there is an add-on app that adds BBC News & Sports, but it's required you have iPlayer installed to use them. And, of course. Because Nvidia made them, they're probably restricted to the Nvidia Shield, though I don't know as I haven't seen anyone else test them on the Nexus Player yet.
Here's a link to download the latest versions of both the iPlayer and Add-ons apks: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63331976&postcount=34l=0
When I use the voice search to search for a movie that I know for a fact is on one of my installed apps, I am only shown results to buy the movie from Google play. The only exception is if I search for something that is on one of the major apps like Netflix or hulu. But it will not search apps like TBS or FXNow for movies. Is there a way to make it do this? Roku does this very well.
