These builds dont require putting all the files in /sdcard/Android just put each of the files in the root level of /sdcard. Maybe that helps?

Hi everyone, I hate being a noob when it comes to the installation of Android but it just isn't happening for me. Is there anyone in the New Brunswick Area of Nj that can help? I'm not sure if its my MicroSD card of if I'm just not doing things right. Let me know if anyone can help, even if it is over skype or something like that or sending me files. Thanks again for your help.

It's not rocket sceince. Have a look @ the link below & download the file package under "Setup". If that package will work then you should be able to run Android on your phone. If you have already tried to run Android on your phone then something is probably a miss in the default.txt file. In the command line you need to make sure the "panel_type=1". If this particular Androind package works for you, then you can use the default.txt in other builds.

Are you trying to flash or run if off your sd? Have you read through all the threads. Hero builds can be a bit frustrating sometimes especially for beginners; at least in my opinion. Either way, Jamezelle's Nand Kit is how I flashed to that ROM. It comes with everthing you need.
Also, have you read this? It should answer all your questions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=603508
Good Luck!!!
I'm not insanely far if you really want to try. Warm Donut is the best one, honestly.
I have what i believe to be a working vega honeycomb alpha however when i got install it in CWM it says unpacking then opening and then installing package finishes very fast and on reboot nothing has changed corvus rom still installed untouched
can you upload it so we can have a look?
did you make it btw?

yeah upload what you have got then we can debug it ourselves, will make it easier than trying to tell you what to do.
Try clearning cache and data in recovery before installing
im uploading now yes i edited the boot.img using the sdk version and used several bits from the desire honeycomb port not sure if its right at all and haven't changed the modules yet. If im completely heading in the wrong direction please inform me and i will give up
Here is my original attempt i've made several edits since but none have worked so here http://www.mediafire.com/file/vcn45ihdfgcjmhg/honeycomb.zip
right, what you have uploaded looks to me like its purely a Desire rom, you have not changed anything at all... no wonder its not booting!

i think you need to edit the boot.img that you extract then take the system.img from the sdk and put them into an update.zip
good luck
How do you use a Nand kernel on an SD build?
Specifically, I want to use Marc's v 1.5 Sense kernel on Boxmax v6.5 Sense 3.5 build. Boxmax did provide the v 1.4 kernel packaged for his build, but has since said he will stop developing due to other priorities.
So basically, I'm currently using the 1.4 kernel, and I would like to upgrade to the 1.5 kernel. How would I go about doing that? Is it as simple as replacing the zimage? or is there some other things I have to do?
Anyone have any idea how to do this?

Well, that's what I'm asking how to do.
I have an SD build. I can't use CWM to flash the kernel. So I'm asking for the proper way to do it.
There's a zimage file. There's also a META-INF folder and a system folder.
Do I just replace the zimage file on the Android folder on my SD card? Or is there more I have to do?
It would help if you actually read my first post...

It would really help if you use search but nevermind.
Find guides how to cook rom. In there there is part choosing your kernel.
Be aware that u may get into problems by replacing/updating kernel

Thanks for the response.
I was just mainly going through the threads hoping someone would post an answer or something similar. I tried google search, focusing it specifically on the XDA website, but after going through ~3-4 pages and not finding anything remotely close, I gave up.
Anyways, thanks for pointing me in a direction (hopefully the right one).

Thanks for trying Cjovecje!, but... everything you have posted was about Nand roms, and didn't talk about SD roms at all. SD rom information is much harder to find I don't know if you tried using a SD build vs a Nand build, but the two are very different in how they are set up and run.
Hi,
so far as I tested some SD and Native SD roms on my phone, Barebone CM7 was the best in terms of speed, respond time and bing clear. so much thanks to Rick_1995 for the great rom an Learning Never Ends Team for porting the rom.
But my problem is that I can't make VPN connection work. I know that Rick mentioned he removed VPN in this rom but because of my work I neet to use it.
I want to know what files I shoud add to the system beside VpnServices.apk that should be in "app" folder and which rom you suggest I get those files from.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Thank you very much. it worked. but unfortunatly its for open vpn accounts. I need to use L2TP account for my work. so I need to use VPN Service. I also used "1VPN" program from market, but it didn't work either.
