It started part one but never finished doing it's thing... what do now? Can I just pull the battery without any repercussions? Or what?
certainly not an expert here, but I had the same problem
Fortunately can still boot CWM, so followed instructions here...

I have flashed the new CyanogenMod and the Cyanogen Recovery 1.4 and when I wipe everything and flash, it'll load up and I can use the phone 100% perfectly, but once I reboot my phone, or turn it off and on, it never goes past the green boot screen. Anyone have any solutions/reasons why it does that? It's with every single Cyanogen mod too, i've tried several of them.
Probably because you have a lot of apps?
If not, reflash it.

what do you actually flash and what is the actual process, you shouldnt have any issues after it boots up the first time, wipe everything and make an exterior partition meaning get rid of your cyanogen recovery 1.4 and get amon ra's latest... look in the dev section and read up on cyan's page on how to flash the rom

Thanks for help man, right now I'm running dwang's rom 100% perfect w/ no issues at all. it can reboot and everything just fine. I'm just a little worried on going back and trying to flash cyanogens.
When I installed it, I first did the root process, downloading the .apk file and going through all that part smooth, then I downloaded and flashed the Cyanogen Recovery 1.4, and from there I downloaded the two files (DRC83_base and the latest cyan's rom, i forgot the version #) and applied update from SD, first doing DRC83 and right after doing the rom itself, without rebooting the phone. It loads up A-OK and I can installl the apps and go about my business, but once I need to restart my phone, it just never turns back on. I'm puzzled completely...I even did the whole unroot and reroot thing and STILL i'm not having any luck.
K I got confused in there some where did you flash a cyan rom at all in there I read that you flashed the drc83 zip file but sounds like you just flashed that and booted the phone lol... never tried that but.... any way it seems like you are doing everything correct onlything I could suggest is make sure you have the correct htc base image, and make sure you wipe and repair everything!!!!! and also try a differant download of cyanogen as you might have gotten a bad one or something I have never had any issues with a cyanogen rom except maybe a FC back on 4.0xx or something

Hey guys i know "Help!" threads get annoying (at least in the Fascinate forum they do.) but i could really use some help.
Rooted my friends phone today (root, clockwork, rom manager), and was going to install regular JAC kernal /voodoo w/o color fix.. I made sure the phone had the smaller NAND chip. Installation went fine (phone booted, voice told me it was switching to ext. 4.) and the voice said voodoo was complete. The phone was stuck at the S logo for about an hour and it was then i decided voodoo was botched. From there i rebooted to clockwork and went to restore the nandroid i made when i rooted. The nandroid got stock at one of the Data files for about 30 minutes. (i have a feeling this is around where i messed things up myself) Decided screw it and was going to flash JI6(T959UVJI6) and the stock kernal with ODIN. Now the phone boots past the S logo but the screen stays black and only the backlight menu buttons light up. It wont go past there. Any quick help is appreciated.
You didn't disable the lagfix I'm assuming.
Odin Eugene's Froyo that doesn't brick, then Odin JFD, install ROM of you're choosing.
Did you even try to search for a fix before posting???

If you can still boot into clockwork recov. you can save it by pushing the undo voodoo zip file that was mentioned about. Assuming that u have adb access. If not odin froyo that doesnt brick tepartition checked. Turn off. Boot back in download. Odin stock jdf. Ji6 isnt a standalone rom. Its more like a no wipe update. Lucky his vibrant wasnt hardware locked lol. He will have a 90% chance of losing EVERYTHING
Had to odin flash froyo that doesnt brick then jfd and yep he lost all his data but he didnt have much to begin with. Now happily running Fusion. Thanks for the help guys!
Ok, so here is the story.
I just cleared my battstats.bin with Voodoo off ran the battery down till it powered off, enabled Voodoo again before the battery went dead. When I plugged the phone in Voodoo started and completed the conversion while the phone was off and plugged in. Now that it is charged I can not get the phone to make it past the boot screen at all. I have attempted to just restore a CWM backup I had made but the MD5 is bad, when I restore one from a week earlier the phone just shuts itself off before even attempting to boot.
Not sure if this is a bug or a "feature" or if it has even been documented before.
So I guess what I am getting to the point of asking is what should I try next before I totally wipe the phone and start fresh?
****EDIT****
With the stock kernel I eventually get to a point where the screen is black and the softkey lights are on solid.
Hey there. I would try an odin flash at this point to get your phone back to stock and then you can go from there. Following the instructions on this post should help you. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=782204
Good luck with everything.
Well I am in the process of trying from these posts to see if I can get things to at least make a phone call.

Tried just the ODIN and still nothing.
****EDIT2***
JEEBUS H that was close. I think I might have learned my lesson. I had to ODIN restore everything including the recovery and then do yet another wipe to get things to boot up.
Think that maybe the Voodoo developers should know about enabling Voodoo and letting the battery drain then plugging it in, usually I wouldn't have done that at all but I was trying to calibrate the battery.
Sweet. Glad you got it working
I have tried everything I can think of. Tried different radios, different ROM's, everything! I'm at wits-end! Every time I upgrade from DL09 to ANY 2.2 leak or ROM (and I mean ANY), the install goes smoothly but after the boot the screen sleeps and will not wake. I have duplicated it on every available leak/ROM and none work. Please! Does anyone have any ideas? I want some of that Froyo goodness.
Did you wipe both data and cache from CWM at least twice before installing any Froyo rom?

Are you talking about the first boot after loading the ROM, and the screen is black? The first boot always takes longer, and most of these ROMs don't have a boot animation. Are you letting the phone boot up completely?
Odin to DI01. Root with Adryn's new root instructions. Flash EB01 modem and your ROM of choice. Should fix everything like it did for me.
Yes. I wiped and wiped.

No, not the first boot. It boots completely and works just fine until it sleeps and then the phone wakes but the screen won't.

Ahhhhh. Now there's something I haven't tried. I will give this a shot and post the result. Thank you for your help in advance!
still dead
Ok. I Odin restored DI01 and rebooted. Everything went fine. I then installed the EB01 modem and CWM-all via odin. All good so far. I booted into Red CWR and installed super clean EB01 and rebooted. Again, the screen will NOT wake from sleep! I'm gonna pull my hair out!
HELP!

This might be a pain, but try doing all of that again but this time flashing a stock EB01 rom. Play around with it and make sure there's no issues, then flash a superclean rom.
That's what I did when I had your issue and it was resolved like that.
Hi all,
Recently I've had a few troubles with flashing ROMS, to the point where I cant start my phone without it rebooting. I've been using CWM PhilZ 6.0.4.4, GT-I9505 and I did a full wipe everytime.
Originally I was on Omega 10 and decided to try out a new ROM (phone kept dying at 15% for some reason as well). Flashed PACman ROMs latest nightly and had some troubles getting past the set up as it froze every time, and when I tried rebooting it, it would simply not start. It was suggested to upgrade my recovery, so I did so from PhilZ CWM 3.0.3.3 to 3.0.4.4. Tried it again and it worked fine, but due to my own clumsiness I accidentally restored system data from Omega to PACman. Obviously it wouldn't start properly after that, reflashed again and was very careful to only restore apps (restored SMS as well as .xml). Everything was fine except a few bugs here and there, but then I rebooted it and it just wouldn't start.
After that I tried cyanogenmod, as I thought it would be more stable. Pretty much same thing happened, less bugs but when I tried rebooting it just wouldn't start.
Given up by this point, I tried reflashing Omega v10. It worked perfectly for a few hours, flashed the latest 3minit framework and ausdim kernel. The next day, my phone suddenly died at 42% and when I try to start it up it gets stuck at the Omega logo. Went into recovery, tried doing full wipe again and cant get past setup without it turning off. Furthermore, when I try to reflash, it just unpacks the zip but turns off randomly.
I'm not quite sure what to do next, I'm thinking it's my recovery not doing wipes properly since when I try to wipe dalvik it says "path not found", and if I try to reboot with recovery it says "root may have been lost, would you like to root?"
Sorry for the whole wall of text, just thought all the information would be better than not enough! If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated as I cant even access my phone currently

Seems to me that you are having battery issues. You might need to get a replacement. If that doesn't work you could try flashing a pre-knox ROM though ODIN 3.04. This would mean starting from scratch, but it could be your solution.
Quick question. Are you downloading the ROMs with your phone or downloading them with your computer then moving them to your phone via usb? because it might be your pc's/usb fault.
I also think there's a problem with your battery, it might need to be replaced.

Thanks for the quick reply! Would the battery explain why my ROMS wouldn't start though? Such as how Omega got stuck at the logo. I will try using my friend's battery, or just keeping the phone on charge whilst doing it and see how that works.
Im sending them through Usb currently, is there any other way to get it on my phone as I can't turn it on to send it over wifi :/

Whenever you flash stock tar through Odin, the phone will restart by itself and wipe cache. After it does this, you should factory wipe and no more bootloop, or soft bricks. I would start from scratch if i were you. If you have working custom recovery installed., I would go in and do a format, not a wipe, but format the sdcard and restart into download mode and flash stock tar, cf auto root, and then flash a custom recovery. And then decide what rom to flash.

Thank you for the reply i just got home so I'll try this soon, would it be risky though since my battery and/or cable may be damaged, meaning if it turns off during flashing stock, I'll get a hard brick?
Update: just reflashed Omega whilst it was on a charger and it actually worked.
Does this suggest that the battery is damaged?
Sounds to me like a definite battery problem.
Samsung recalled batteries with a serial number starting with BD. have a look and check your battery mate.
Also check it's not swollen

I just checked my battery, it does start with BD, and it does appear to be somewhat swollen.. I haven't noticed it before :l Could I just return it to Samsung for a replacement, without going back to stock ROM? I'm currently in Australia, haven't really seen a Samsung support center anywhere nearby.
Update: got my hands on a new battery, everything seems to be working great now. Flashed paranoid android, no reboots or any other problems.
Thank you so much to everyone who helped
