Vibrant on Backorder for Warranty Exchange! - Vibrant General

I have been waiting since October 15th to receive a warranty exchange on my Samsung Vibrant. Anyone else?
Are there so many problems with the Vibrant that there is none in stock for us to get exchanges?

Same problem
Phone bricked after update so on October 18th called to get warranty exchange. They told me it would only take 3 days if I paid $19.99 so I said screw it ok. It's been over a week and still nothing. They tell me it's on backorder.

I am on my 4th one.
I just went in store to exchange mine..

that depends on the store
the store has to do warranty exchanges. not all of them do the closest here is 40 miles away but I'm beginning to think its my only choice to try right now,

EVO 4g Still on Backorder

I'm hearing from our IT guy that handles our mobile accounts that our Sprint rep has placed an order for me, but that the phone is on backorder.
Anyone else hearing this?
Anyone know how long I'm looking at?

Where have you been? I'm guessing that you're going to be looking at 1-2 weeks. In my area, the local Sprint store has a wait list of about 60 (and rising) people. He did tell me though that as of this week, they are getting roughly 10-20 a day, each day. So, hopefully by Monday next week, there'll be stock for people to just go in and grab one.
Well, I knew that it was on backorder around a week ago (June 8 reports), but then I read that they were back in stock (June 10th reports). I assumed that they were still in stock, but apparently not.
My order for one was placed yesterday...1-2 weeks! I sure hope not!!!!
Just chatted with sprint.com and they said its not available on sprint.com or telesales and they don't know when it will be available again. They said if you can find a store with it, that's your best bet.... unreal!
this sucks because they are having trouble ordering my replacement
Also spoke with my local store and they have a 20 person backorder and are getting 3-5 phones in per day which ends up being ~ 7 day wait.
Srpint.com had them for a minute today. I called to replace my defective one, in hopes the new batch would be better. By the time he ordered the return kit for the old one, then he had to get supervisor permision to adjust the price on the new one, they where out of stock again. BS

Sprint online reps are stupid.

Speakers blown on my Epic... anyone getting this fixed for free?

I have an Epic from around December and its worked fine up until now. I called Sprint and at first theyre telling me its $35 to fix or I have to mail it into Samsung and wait a few weeks without a phone...
They admitted this is a known issue several times to me also. I have a year warranty on the phone so I dont understand why theyre trying to get me to pay for this?
Im also on the Sero plan if that matters

If you don't have the TEP insurance that is Sprint's warranty handling fee of $35. Blame the economy. Do you have a backup Sprint phone? They may switch the activation back to that phone while you wait for Samsung to fix it. But I think you have to pay to ship it to Samsung, so the $35 is looking like a better option.
Well it seems that you don't have TEP since Sprint wants to charge you $35 for the repair. You have a "1 year manufacturer warranty" so if you want the repair to be free send the Epic back to Samsung.
Key word: "Manufacturer Warranty" Sprint did not make the phone Samsung did.
That is how I look at it.
My screen went out on my phone and i didnt have TEP and they replaced it for free at a sprint service center. Just go there and give it a shot.

How long ago? Policy changed recently and they charge $35 now. Got an email from them about a month ago.

Considering what TEP costs, $35 per repair is not that bad versus getting a new or used phone.

not bad at all...i would just pay the $35. WHat actually happened to me was my screen shatered, but it still worked. Then a few months after it quit working all of a sudden, so ordered an OEM and replace it myself, and it still didnt work. I thought i was screwed. i googled and saw where someone had a simalr issue where their display went out and they had it replaced under the manufacturers warranty at a sprint store. So i brought it to my local store and they replaced it with no questions asked.

The policy only changed for corporate locations. Many of the franchise locations are still using the old rules.
I called sprint and they said they would reimburse me the $35 fee for the repair replacement since I dont have another phone and cant be without a phone for a couple weeks.
Two sprint reps and an employee at the sprint store both said this was a known issue so I guess if you talk to the right people they will cover it

There's a thread going with T-Mobile pre-orders in the Q&A forums. I pre-ordered on the 18th, first date it was available. Had an estimated delivery date of the 26th which came and went. My card was just charged yesterday, thinking they will start shipping today or tomorrow. My status is still as backordered.
This whole pre-order thingy is whack, should have just waited till Wednesday and gone in to get the N3 and Gear watch same time.

I pre-ordered on the 19th. My cash was held on Friday but I haven't received any shipping info. I've called in asking for the status and was told they won't ship anything until the 2nd. I'm thinking I should have just gone into the store since I ordered ground shipping and will have to wait that long now. Kinda sucks.
I feel yall...whats the damn benefit of preordering if you get it when the stores get it...hell you could save on the shipping cost...COME ON T-MOBILE

Now that you mentioned shipping that just made me more upset, $25 overnight shipping to get it maybe 1 or 2 days later than stores? WTF....
Also if there is a problem with the device, ordering in the store is MUCH easier because you can just walk in and swap it out. Online orders you have to ship it back to them, wait up to a week for them to look over it and hope they don't lose it (they lost my S4 for 3 weeks in their receiving warehouse) then mail you out another and you get charged $5 for a "swap" fee.
Top it off, you can't cancel the order once you pre-order it. This whole pre-order thingy stinks of BS. T-Mobile rep said to wait for it to ship (whenever that will be) then wait for the UPS man and refuse delivery, that's the ONLY way to cancel it. You'll lose your shipping charges too. Nice eh?
I forgive them though, they did get my LG G2 delivered to me 2 weeks before the store release date. =)
I had to order mine online to quality for my promotion (10% off service and $50 account credit). It also claims I'll have 2-4 days to wait for it (free shipping, no expedited option was available). I'm willing to be patient to save $218 over the course of two years, though

Went to the closest T-Mobile store yesterday. They will start selling them tomorrow. They will only get 8. The sales rep said I should be there as early as possible. I will have it first thing in the morning.

I called 5 stores and visited one in person on Monday. All the stores have them in stock and go on sale Wednesday. I didn't hear anything about low stock from any of them. Most likely the rep just wants to get you in there asap to get a commission, lol. I had one rep badger me to sign up with service now, then come back and buy the phone on Wed, lol.

I'm in SC and will also pick my note 3 up tomorrow around 10am we they open. And my area has 2 locations each with only 8-10 black in stock.
Tmobile Note 2 ♡°♡ Unlock At&T Mega 6.3
I was also planning to pick it up in store, because the preorder didn't really seem to have any advantage to it.
I did some calling around, and it does seem that each store isn't getting too many units. My local retailer is
about 10 minutes away (running), and it opens at 10 AM. I'm also actually a college student, and I have a calc. lecture
until 9:50... I'm really tempted to leave class 20 minutes early. haha. Is it worth it?
The T-Mo Corp Store I work in as a RSA got 15 of the black only. We do not have a Demo phone to show customers. I will be buying my phone tonight before I leave the store. Most of the stores that I talk to got under 15 some got demos some did not. My store has never sold out of a Galaxy phone on day one.

Well I have had mine since 1034am and so far I'm not liking it as much as the mega 6.3. It's basically the same size as the note 2 the no big difference there. There is auto correct while typing. It is rooted however the system is keeping certain root apps from working, such as wifi trevE mod which I still haven't figured out. Anyone that has a work around on the wifi trevE mod please by all means help me out with a link & screen shot of the settings. Thanks in advance.

Now Available on T-Mobile for purchase

If you're an existing customer, the phone is already available for sale through the my tmobile store. I just got of with a CS rep (my account has a history of issues authorizing EIPs so I wanted to verify my order) she made it sound like they had plenty in stock too. So much for PST time.
Won't let me Jump. Did you buy outright?
I didn't use Jump but I did get an EIP for it. The CSR actually canceled my first order and made a new one for me (because of the authorization issues on my account), so the phone is in the system if you want to call in an order. CSR said telesales is only for new purchases and "upgrades" are handled by CS.
Heh, hope they don't sell out before they open online orders to new people. I'm camping at my computer tonight.
CSR said they had "lots" of stock, and I quote "You'll definitely get it delivered before the guy who ordered an iPhone (previous customer she was with), he's been waiting since October".
Wow, you are the man! Thanks for the heads up! I was able to order a 64GB midnight blue right now. It's on an EIP and everything.
Thanks!!!
The closest T-mobile store carrying the device was over 4 hours away!

AT&T says my Note7 is worth nothing in exchange. Is this right?

I was waiting until the S8 came out to trade in my Note7. So, I went to an AT&T store today to preorder. They told me the deadline (Dec. 31, 2016) for exchanging the Note7 had passed, and that I wouldn't get any credit toward the S8. They did let me restart my Next plan, but I'm back at month 0 and the money I paid in for the Note7 is gone.
Is this correct? I don't see anything on the AT&T website about a deadline. Was there a notification about it as part of the software updates (which I had blocked)?
And would this mean, for someone who had bought the phone outright rather than on the Next plan, that AT&T would give them nothing when they brought the Note7 back? There is certainly no incentive to return it in that situation, assuming they want the remaining devices back.
Actually, it gets somewhat worse. The store ordered the wrong phone for me (S8 instead of S8 Plus) and there is a charge on my bill for $613.77 that shouldn't be there. I called the store and they said to call customer service. I called customer service and they said to go back to the store.
Hey bro, I just returned my note 7 (and the case) last Thursday for a FULL REFUND. They dropped $294.64 in my account. My at&t next was void and then I could start a new one.
You made the mistake by asking what your phone was worth. You must say I want a full refund for my note 7 and all the accessories. I kept hearing this December 31st date but it's nothing official. What they mean to say is after the last update (around December 31st) you will not be able to charge your phone. But we blocked those updates.
I then went to best buy mobile where they have the best offer for the s8 plus. You get $100 off... Yes $100 off PLUS all the Samsung promotions (gear vr and controller)
Hope you can go back and speak to the manager.
Keep me posted...

That's interesting. Thanks for the info.
The manager at the store said there was a December 31 deadline. I sat there and looked through the AT&T website, and told him there was no deadline listed there. He said, "Well, it says that in our info."
I also went through the online chat when I got home. They said I couldn't get any credit for the installments already paid.
After going back to the store today, I did at least get them to remove the $613.77 charge they had put on my account (which they acknowledged was an error, charging me to pay off the Next plan on the Note7).
It's great you got them to give you a refund. Maybe I'll take another crack at calling customer service after I actually give them the phone back.

AT&T Store Return
I was a victim of Samsung's mandatory update last week, while still waiting to (hopefully) exchange it for a S8+. I had originally bought mine full price at Best Buy, then activated it at an AT&T store, exchanged for the 'safe' version etc.
The update disabled the USB-C port and charging, so I was forced to take it in. With a promotion on the S7 Edge I also received a Gear S2 watch, a Galaxy TabE, (both 99 cents without requiring a new contract; just 10$/Month device fee) And was able to use 99$ out of my 200$ + credit on a Gear VR.
I was sad to finally let go of my Note7 after so much resistance, but suffice it to say I walked out pleasantly surprised at the extras I received.

I was told that myself at an AT&T store when I inquired about it in mid-December, even knowing both AT&T & Samsung's website said differently. However I know a lot of those guys are working on hearsay or don't bother to look it up, so I'm the type to just drive to the next AT&T store and try again. There never was and still isn't an end date to the recall according to the ATT website, which is exactly what they refer to. Even regardless of the N7's condition.

I looked at that article, never saw anything about a Turn in date deadline
I remember seeing a sign at my ATT store which is an authorized dealer that said to get refund you had to turn in by DEC 31. So maybe it deals with third party stores that are not corporate stores? I have heard people say DEC 31 was the deadline but never found nothing official on that. Still no matter what they should take the phone and give a refund as its an official recall and they can't make you eat the money lost. Maybe you need to go through Samsung now to get a refund? Who knows as companies loves to do the run around game

They should have provided a Loaner until the replacement was available, like they originally said they would and like they did in some markets.
The only replacement for a Note is a New Note...
Well I am hoping when the new note 8 comes out Sammy doesn't forget about us note 7 owners and how we was done wrong. But I'm sure they will. Heck I would take a fixed note 7 but they are not to be sent to the US market from what I read.

I'm picking up my S8+ on Friday, at which point I'll drop off my Note7 at the AT&T store.
My plan is to wait a few days then contact AT&T, saying "Now that you have my phone back, when do I get a refund for the money I paid in installments and sales tax?" My hope is that this gets automatically refunded once they physically get the phone, despite what the store manager said about a December 31 deadline.

Why don't you just hand them the Note 7, get refund, buy S8+, or it should be swap?
That's essentially what I'm doing. But the manager said no refund after December 31. Actually, they initially charged me $600 in remaining payments, but I got that reversed (they admitted the charge was an error).

Note 7
Can anyone who has had success exchanging their phone tell me their store location? Seems random but I am at the point with att I want to leave. I am trying to return my note 7 and the stores keep telling me no. The call center is telling me they have to but every location I go to its the same crap. Both corporate and other have the same stuff about dec31st..... doesn't make any sense to me but maybe if I can prove locations are in fact honoring the exchange I might have some luck.
At this point it seems like more a choice than corporate policy and all the hoops I've jumped through just this week I am at my breaking point.
I returned my note 7 for a full refund two weeks ago at the highway 151 store in San Antonio. They also gave me a refund for my case that I purchasedI'm picking up my s8 plus on Friday. Got a $100 off coupon for purchasing the phone at best buy mobile.
They refunded all my money on my debit card. They told me I couldn't get cash because they didn't have enough money in the store to give cash. They told me they could put it on any debit card of my choice.

S8 refund
I was also given the same story about no refund being issued after Dec 31 but I refuse to take that as an answer. I called customer service at least 6 times and was placed on hold many of times, everyone kept telling me the same story and I just kept asking to speak to a manager and kept climbing up the chain. I mentioned taking legal action and they said a manager would call me back within 72 hours and he never did. I called the 7th time and the operator issued me the refund on everything i had paid except the tax (she said i had to try to claim that at the store where the phone was purchased. Will return once I get my phone today in the mail.
Good luck and don't let them take your money!!!
I took my Note7 back to the AT&T store today, having received my S8+ yesterday. After an hour there (most of it while they were on the phone with customer service), they said they couldn't take it back at the store, but they printed out a shipping label for me to return it.
At this point, I'm debating whether to mail it to AT&T and try to get my past payments refunded, or just keep the thing--maybe use it as a music player or something.
