Hi All!
I have a question whether I'm able to extend the system menu "Phone options" (appears with power button press and hold). I want my app to add an extra option to this menu.
I've googled the question and tried to search in different forums but no success. If you could point me somewhere or give an advice that would be cool!
This might be a good starting point - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=812341
Or look at the app Quick Boot as I think when that's installed it adds a new option in that menu.

Hello Everbody,
my question is:
When you press the green button in order to choose number with the stylus, instantly a menu apperars trying to match the number you try to insert with numers already chosen or ones which can be found in contatc.
is it possible to turn of this option? As far as I know it is called auto filling or something like it.
It's called Smart Dialling. After you press the TALK button, goto options --> Smart Dialling Options --> Uncheck "Enable Smart Dialling"
Thanks!
it works
Is there a way to change the behavior of the Start Menu Button? Basically i'd rather have it simply show the today screen rather than the actual menu. Alternatively i'd even prefer that it ignore the press and not show the menu. With many of us already having application launchers on the today screen, the start menu is redundant.
I apologize in advance if this is inappropriate for this forum.
To avoid not being able to access the start menu at all, you could enable it with a long key press of the start menu button.
Tap = return to Today Screen
Hold = show Start Menu
This would seem like a nice thing to have. Is such a thing possible? Perhaps with Mortscript?
What PDA do you have?
If you have a PDA/phone you just do a single press of the "hang up" button?
WM itself doesn't allow to change the start menu action. However, it's possible to put another app on top, like WisBar Advance, SKMenu, and similar tools do. But I don't know of any free and lightwight app which only replaces the start menu button.

Click to collapse
I agree! Have searched this for a long time, but it seems it can't be done.
I would love if Visual Task Manager started when i press the windows icon.
Please return if you find a application to replace the start menu button. Thanks, i offer a kiss in payment
This program will do it. http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-gspocketmagic-v1-32-19.html
Just that the icon becomes so ugly but i think it's worth it
I have flashed the Dorimanx's new ROM and seen the soft key at the left top conner.
Link to Dorimanx's new ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1166948
How can I accomplish this for other ROMs? An App? or some Setting?
Thanks in advance.
You can try Button Savior, you can find it in the Android Market but you have to be rooted to use it. The app puts a icon on your screen that stays on top of everything. You touch the icon and it opens up more buttons on your screen that will stay for the amount of time you select or permenently if you choose. It gives you a exit button a plus button ( this expands to more buttons being a phone, camera, and search buttons), a menu button, a home button, and a lock screen button. I used it all the time as it really saves wear and tear on your external hardware buttons and it is so easy to use and always available on your screen.
thanks for the quick reply. i ll give it a try
If the "other" rom is based on CM7, you can simply enable a setting in (Settings > CM7 Settings > Tablet Tweeks > Enable Soft Keys & set your own)
Otherwise, follow the post above yours
thats exactly i am looking for
I wonder if there is a way to make shortcut or app to toggle 3G network. When power button is pressed there is a pop up menu with the option to change network mode. If we could get shortcut made up to use it it will be great. I don't know anything about it so I'm not much help but hopefully someone might know how yo do it.
The one I use is Data Switch by TomatoX - * HERE *
Install the App. Press & Hold the screen where you want the shortcut to go, select Sortcuts -> Applications -> DataSwitch.
A press on the shortcut will toggle your data connection.
I don't know how I missed that.
Thank you.
wrong post, sorry
What does "Menu button" option do if check or uncheck the box?
Settled in Settings-->Phone-->Display, gestures & buttons-->Buttons-->"Menu button (check box)"
TNX
When checked it adds an on screen floating menu button in legacy apps that don't already provide an on screen menu button.
It is essentially an option for backwards compatibility with apps designed for the era of Android devices they had physical menu buttons.
Tnx a lot!
Just one more question:
- How to lock one (or many) apps in Recent Apps? When i click Clear All that app not to clear and stay always active?
I need that but i dont know a sollution
