Hey Guys just wondering if anyone else is having problems with Droid Explorer..
For some reason I cant get it to pull up anything, I mean I can do a few things like control through the console or screen cast, but not actually explore the phone. any tips to get this started?
Confirmed...same problem here. In the meantime, I'm using Android Commander.

Wow thanks for that!!! by any chance do you have adb working on this?
I've got the same issue with Droid explorer. I have adb working otherwise though. You just have to download the drivers from Samsung.

Not sure I understand your question, so I will just say that AC has a terminal built-in that allows you to perform ADB commands.

Title states my question, but I would like to know if there is anything similar and if not...would anyone welcome it and and features that would be nice to have like being able to chat with other IMs for example
Thanks

just wait..if this is like trillians desktop client...we are in for a big treat. I love trillian!
I've never used BBM but I've been told Google Talk is similar and I think there's a Talk app for most smartphones, so you could give it a try until Trillian comes out.
Here's the IM application. Though I think you need r/w access to install it. I tried to push it and it failed.

whoops, I got it pushed. Now i need to find some friends.
I might be misunderstood, I am not necessarily asking for an app similar to it to actually personally use. I was wanting to try and make one better than the rest...and responsive like BBM, but if these others are awesome then i wont waste my time. Thanks for the help and feed back, i will definitely look into some of these and if i feel they arent good enough then i will make one then ;P
Edit: What info do you have on ImProvider...the site i found is chinese and doesnt have much info at all
ImProvider.apk is Google Talk, which is like BBM.
See here on how to install it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=735625
Thanks for that information
palringo on the market.
i tried today to root my droid 2 with z4root app and its stoke on running exploit in order to obtain root access. its the first time im trying to root my phone and im new with android.
thank you
I'm not familar with ZRoot but see if putting your phone in debugging helps maybe.
I had the same issue. Reboot you phone and then make that the first thing you run when it comes back up. It should speed through it. It's not the perfect solution, but it works.

I'm not really familiar with this either, but I've read some of the comments in the market, try doing it several times, it seems to work after a couple tries or so. If it just seems to not be working, try using DoRoot, it's pretty simple and easy to do. You can find it in the Droid 2 Development.
My GF & I both have Droid 2 phones & I used z4root on both. Worked flawlessly on each. I put the phone in debug & then ran z4root. Totally new at this myself so not sure what else will help.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=764950 here's the thread about rooting including the easy root versions.
Please try and use a forum search or Google search with "XDA developers:" before what you want. This will help you quicker and keep the number of duoble posts down. Thanks.
Found this ADBWireless app. http://www.appbrain.com/app/adbwireless-(widget-version)/siir.es.adbWireless
anyone tried it before?
No more cords... I try the adb shell and it works... ^^
Yep, it's great.
I think it's a must have app for everyone.
Thanks for pointing out. Great app.
Anyone tried it having poblem? I tried using less and sometimes it didn't finish. Is it normal? Because I never use adb shell with cable before.

I think it's better to give me your phone than to cook it.. lol..
Newest version in the market was released. Anyone able to hex edit this one so that it's compatible with Hulu, etc? Thanks in advance!
I could use some of that hacked flash too!
Ya looking for this as well.....

UPDATE: Oops, forgot to mention, it works!
So after we get the hacked flashplayer, what else do we need to do. Hulu keeps complaining about cell phone.

Works prefectly, thanks
Can this be done without a root?
And if so can I get newb friendly instructions?

Change your user agent to desktop. Cyanogen and other custom ROMs have this built in, but you can use third party browsers to do it too.

I would use the Hulu.apk as it runs much smoother than playing a video via the browser. I'm sure it's on these forums if you search or you can rip it out of SkyRaider.
If you want to go the browser route, type the following into your URL (without the quotes), "about:debug"
Hit enter (nothing will happen)
Go to menu and scroll all the way down to UA string. Change to desktop. Hulu should now work.

No, you can't replace files in the /system partition without root privledges.
does anyone have this in an apk instead of just the so file. I tried to adb push it in sdk tools and it still doesn't work.
EDIT: OK I think I must have pushed it to the wrong folder because I tried again and now it is working for me.

this worked for me but only using the Hulu.apk, and not the website on Droid Incredible Cyanogenmod 6.1
They sound really sweet, techy yet classy!
These would sound great on our phones no?
Any ideas on how to do this?
Really sucks that Moto chose stupid MTP protocol for the USB port.
They're in system\media\audio\notifications.
You can get to them with a file manager App like Astro. Probably the easiest way is to download the Xoom Files dump that somebody linked to awhile back.
Or, using Astro, you can select them all and copy them to your Download folder, which is accessible to your PC through the USB cable.
Please share if you have them
Thanks.
