Trouble enabling Voodoo - Vibrant General

Heya everyone!
I'm trying to run Bionix Fusion 1.1. I've flashed to the JACS Voodoo kernel, but for some reason, Voodoo won't enable. There are no disable-lagfix files on my phone, and for some reason there isn't even a voodoo directory anywhere to be found.
I tried disabling and then re-enabling Voodoo, and nothing happened; "Linda" said nothing whatsoever, and boot times were normal. I also tried re-flashing the ROM to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Did you read the second post in the Bionix Fusion thread?
None of the packages from Team Whiskey for Fusion include Voodoo!

I see. Do you have a larger NAND?

Voodoo directory should be in /sdcard/Voodoo, if it is not there I am not sure if creating it will give you the dragons though

I checked, and I don't. I know I'm probably just overlooking something really silly.
Thanks for your input! ^^

Maybe the back kernel support files?
I am not sure if JAC jernel packed with Bionix includes it.

I've replaced that kernel, though. I'll try flashing the stock version of Fusion and then flash Voodoo over that...

No dice. This is odd; I've had Voodoo working flawlessly on my phone before

It is either back kernel support files or I am of no help here sorry.
You flashed update.zip for Voodoo from http://project-voodoo.org/download#SGH-T959 right?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=791478 I actually flashed that. I'll give your link a try.

Thank you! That worked

Before you do that, here are a few posts from that thread you posted about the back kernel support files, I believe Eugene provided those for us

P.S. read your post after I posted above, glad it resolved your issue!

to the op- did you notice any improvement? I'm on fusion right now and would like to do this, but I'm just getting my feet wet with flashing roms. still nervous about a kernel.

Oh yeah. Voodoo makes this phone into a beast. If you want numbers, my Quadrant score went from ~700 to ~1,800 points. All around, the phone seems much faster and less laggy.

Remove voodoo permanently without wipe?

Is it possible to permanently remove voodoo without wiping data and replace the kernel with the StupidFast non-voodoo kernel?
EDIT: I'm on Dirrk's 0.2 LV 1250 kernel right now.
I believe that you just need to remove voodoo via the lag_fix file and then install the new kernel. This should remove voodoo. Not sure how complete but that is what I did. I have not seen any problems.

This worked perfectly, but I ended up just doing the disable_lagfix file, then NANDroid, then flashing a new ROM, so I had to wipe anyway.

Much faster. If you are planning on using it, make sure you get spare parts from the market and set the animations to fast. It is very snappy after you do that, but I do not think that it is undervolted, so you may have lower battery life then you would with an undervolted kernel.

Geeknik 1.5 installed on my phone, but I've not seen Geeknik advertise it?

I just installed the newest Blackhole & I got the option to install Geeknik's StupidFast Kernel 1.5 or StupidFast Kernel Test 1.5.4. I am confused because haven't seen anyone else mention this kernel version yet...I installed 1.5, has anyone else? Is this just an error in ROM Manager or is this version out and just no one is talking about it?
I saw that too when I was installing the latest Blackhole rom. I was afraid to try it since I've heard nothing about it in this forum. I also didn't see the original 1.0.36 stable version, so I'm thinking it was titled wrong or something along those lines. Hope we find out soon.
glad you posted it in the right place
The StupidFast kernels v1.4, 1.5, and 1.54 are meant only for DJ05, that's why they aren't posted here. I guess some users have had success with them on DI01, but others have had problems. If you're still on DI01, I'd go with either 1.2.3, 1.1.23, or 1.0.36.

The kernel version numbers are correct and were downloaded from directly from geeknik's website. I'll post the link as soon as I can find it. You have the option to choose not to install a kernel if you are happy with your current kernel, or try one of them, and then flash back to one from the forums if you like. According to his website they are compatible with both firmwares. If people are having issues I will add back the previous versions tomorrow.

There is the changelog for v1.5 and 1.54 I realize that it says that they are compatible, and some people haven't had issues, but others have. If you're still on DI01 and you get issues with one of the 1.5 kernels, I'd roll back to 1.2.3.

Had a huge problem downloading the 1.5 on d101 blackhole 1.4 screen became unresponsive.
I'm running BlackHole v1.4 and StupidFast v1.5, but my Gallery is gone! Help please.
When I installed Blackhole v1.4, I had an option for 3D Gallery. Did you not have that option?
Yea, look under Stock Apps in the Rom Manager-Sonofskywalker3 section. It's there.

So could I say take a zimage from say setiron's kernel and place it into a i9000 rom? Then just flash that zip file one time and have my i9000 rom with Cappy kernel all in one flash? I already know how to swap out modem.bin files just need to know about the kernels.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you're really opposed to CWM, couldn't you just unzip the package, flash the kernel with fastboot and push the file in system/lib using adb?
Anyway, Smartass governor? Wow, having had a Droid X before I feel like I've really been out of the loop. Read up on it, I like it. It's good to have a kernel that I feel I can relate to.
Still charges in cwm when off just displays cwm recovery screen if fastboot is not enabled.
