Basically, i used Unrevoked to get a Custom Recovery about 2 months ago, and since HTC released the Update for the HTC Wildfire, i havent been able to get on the Clockwork recovery screen. Every time a press recovery on the HBOOT screen, it takes me to a picture of a phone and a Red explanation mark. What shall i do ?
That's the stock HTC recovery which the update went back to. You just need to run unrevoked again.

For sure I am f***d. Today I decided to root my hero using the guide showed on villainrom website. My hero runs 2.1 and yersterday I updated it with the official release that gives G calibration. I've installed Htc sync 3.0 so that I will not need to install any driver for sdk(because I need sdk to root as explained on villainrom topic "how to root htc hero with 2.1). I downloded Gsmroot and made my hero recognized but adb. By the way, I pasted the content of tools folder in sdk in Gsmroot one. I ran cmd and runindos.bat. My hero rebooted one time and the second time nothing happened. I just got a picture of error (the red one with hero). I don't know what to do. Doing the update was a mistake? I AM I F****ED?

That red icon with hero is NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.
All you need to do is reboot the phone with a button combination (can't remember which, but I think it's menu+volume up), and get rebooted. the phone is untouched.
Then do the process again. This red screen is what HTC put in front of the recovery screen, but it is nothing bad.
Will edit your title, as it's a little extreme.
I'm now on android system recovery meny.I'm triying to do a nandroid back up but it says "error, run nandroid-mobile.sh". Help please!
check your battery is above 30%
I did it. Yahooooooooooooooo! Free, at last!
One last question: how to flash FroydVillain 1.4.0-1.4.1 Hotfix? I know hat I must go to recovery mode but how to do it?
What a wonderful feeling!
Did you manage to get froydvillain 1.4.0-1.4.1 done in the end? If not - you flash it the same way as any zip when in recovery. Just make sure, as always, it is in the /sdcard/ folder.
Thank you Captain! I wonder how to install appliacatons on sd card now. Can you help me too?
There is an Apps2SD guide on here or Villainrom.co.uk. Link was in my sig.... forgotten where it has gone...
Edit: o its part of my complete newbie guide.
just curious...if your hero was broken how were you able to send from hero using tapatalk?
Hi everyone,
I have a friend who owns a mytouch 4g and he did root the device using instructions on the forum, visionary and then terminal emulator...
Everything was working great.
Then he did something stupid which is follow a youtube video on how to overclock but he ignored the fact that this procedure required running a custom rom on your phone.
This is the youtube link he followed
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amEwtRSH5ZQ
Now when attempting to turn his phone on it shows Mytouch 4G splash screen then reboots and it keeps doing the same thing over and over
I have a Samsung Vibrant and if something goes wrong I can always use Odin and place the phone in Download mode to bring it back to stock...
Is there such a procedure for the mytouch 4g and can someone provide step by step or point me in the right direction please or is there any other way to get this phone to boot up normally, or revert back to stock?!
I tried searching the forum but it seems to me that everything required the phone being able to boot up normally...
Thank you.
Have you tried taking the battery out for 30 seconds, i have a htc hd2 and how i get back to factory settings on my phone i turn the phone off and it comes back to wnd 2.6. I hope this helps
Isn't hd2 windows mobile?!

Load the PD15IMG on the sdacard and boot into HBoot for a 100% stock restore. Links can be found in the development section. Or flash a new ROM that will replace the kernel. Did he do a nandroid backup?

Thank you! I am doing it as I type this. Watching the progress bar now, at about 1/2 blue....
Hopefully it will work.
Thanks again!

After it was done it asked if I want to run the update, didn't know what to select so I hit yes, and it seemed to do the same thing all over again but this time after the initial progress bar it actually said updating unzipping and whatever not in like 7 or 8 different steps and then it said press power to reboot.
Did this step revert to stock recovery or is the cwm recovery still intact somewhere?! How would I verify?!

Yup it certainly will. The pd15img file is auto extracting once u load ur bootloader...loading everything by default...so cwm will be gone on ur phone..

Hello,
I've just sold my phone and am due to send it out tomorrow. The buyer would like it unrooted and on the stock htc sense. I followed an unrooting guide which then flashed back a G2 unrooted rom.
Can anyone point me to the direction of the correct HTC rom, RUU or pcimg100.zip or whatever it's called or some method which I can flash the stock rom before I send it?
Thanks very much in advance,
Kris
Well first off stock does not have sense...its asop android....so if u want stock sense u will need the z rom from euro
Well when i say stock i meant the stock HTC Sense rom. Ive tried 3 RUUs including the 566666 one and they all give me an error 155. I try to plug the phone in when its in hoot and the device "Android 1.0" has no drivers.
I also found a 1.34 pc10img.zip file for the 1.34 but hoot doesn't see it.
Ok i tried to re-root (from being unrooted) and I'm now stuck at the HTC logo.... What the heck can i do in time for tomorrow
EDIT: I'm in clockworkmod recovery, can someone point me in the direction of a .zip I can flash for the stock 1.34 or 1.72?
Thanks would be a great help.
EDIT2: Phones bricked... *mumbles about little help from xda*
Cant be bricked, what can u do with it right now? And its a dz correct?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
I can't do anything with it, except charge it. It won't turn on, it won't go to recovery, it won't go to hoot it won't do anything. Nothing on usb either and to my knowledge no usb = no commands.
Last time i checked ti had s-ff, root, cid unlock the standard stuff..
Is the led on indicating its charging?
Dz or g2?? Which hboot was on it?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
Yes the led is on but stays on forever even after I pull the plug.
Pull battery for 5 mins, if u put it back in does the led come on? What color?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
I pulled the battery multiple times tried vul down and trackpad etc. When ti comes on its orange solid, but i left it charging for 6 hours now its flashing orange and i don't wanna tough it incase this means anything different.
I'm not sure if adb works on unrooted devices, seems like this is the only way to go. Try to boot the recovery or bootloader via adb on your pc. Just look for the how-to's

Hello everyone,
This is my first post and I'm already asking for help
I have had my rooted Click/Tattoo for about 15 mouths now, yesterday I updated my recovery and flashed the wrong one by accident (I flashed a Wildfire one not a Click one).
The phone boots into Android 1.6 but won't let me flash a new recovery either on the phone terminal with Super User or on my PC with adb. Also I can't flash using Fast boot as my phone has decided to turn Security back on.
I have no Idea what to do, as I have a basicily useless phone at the moment, please help

I Have just tested that, it won't let me do that. However I have tried to flash an offical rom using fastboot on my PC and using Hboot on the phone itself. All I get is an "CID incorrect" error. Any Suggestions?
I guess you haven't a goldcard, right?

Basically you should copy a file whose name is clicimg.zip then fastboot THE phone -PWR+VOL-DOWN. The phone should then rolback TO factory. Look tor the file; id u can't fonda it icould provide

Hey all,
I have just factory reset my phone and I can't get it to boot. It is stuck on the htc start up screen. No buttons work. How long should I wait before I know something is wrong? I tried downgrading with AAHK and it restarted my phone and it has been like that ever since.
Is it bricked? And I couldn't get around to installing ClockWorkMod onto it.
Thanks
When the phone is off, volume down + power to get into hboot. If its still S ON you can't flash anything on it. AAHK can root. Downgrading and restoring to stock with a Froyo RUU a device that has been shipped with Gingerbread WILL get you jammed like that for sure.

Sorry I'm a bit of a noob at this. What do you mean S ON? And is my phone stuffed?
Power + Volume down for about 5 seconds. Write everything it says once you get into boot. Then we'll talk.

Okay so, I managed to use that PG...IMG thingo and I managed to use that to get my phone up and running. It's running at 2.2 right now and I'm not getting any system updates. This was after factory resetting it. I'm meant to be updated at 2.3.5. Is there a problem now?
Did you root or not?
