as i mention...i need help for iit..i couldnt find any good answer for this...
are you still using the original SPB shell? I suggest you follow instruction in this forum to strip down your phone and install the new SPB shell 3.5.5, it is much more stable then the "panel version"
I forgot how the original was with MR2, but i guess it is similar, just hit the right corner menu button, and you should see change background option there.
Beware that you cant change the background for Professional View, it is always black by default.

Hello there,
I was just wondering if there's a way to install Spb Mobile Shell 2.1.4 as a panel on the Xperia? Because when I installed this version, the older one (sbp-panel) is getting overwrited. Maybe can someone make a panel installer for it? Thanks anyway
I was looking to install the newer 214 as well, but was not sure if I wanted to over write the older panel version... how would this effect the phone... thanks for any info...

There's no problem when you install spb 2.1.4 on the xperia. You loose the panel of the older version but you keep the same settings at the new version. Even when you want the older version back you can easly install it and you'll get spb mobile shell panel as before but then you loose 2.1.4 (that only runs as application)
I thought as much but wanted to be sure... I am not sure I want to lose the panel ability though... oh well will try it out I think...
Is there a cab available to make 2.1.4 into a panel? If I could, I would.

upppp!!
i would too!!!
i'm currently using this version as well together with SPB Pocket plus 4 (both are awesome by the way...) and it seems to be showing as more of a menu than a panel. A panel .cab for this would certainly be nice so i don't have to switch to this every time i unlock my phone 'cause the today screen always shows when i unlock. or if anyone knows a workaround for this, i'll use that one as well.
To show the panel when the device wakes up go Start/Settings system tab then scroll down until you see the SPB mobile shell icon. Tap thos and on the first screen that comes up is a check box for Display the Now Screen when device wakes up. I think this is what you were asking

i think what he wanted was to make the SPB shell v.2.xx a panel just like the one that can be downloaded from the sony ericsson website....if any devs out there could help with this, lots of us would appreciate it!
I'm thinking of flashing to Jack's lite 1.04 rom, which has no panels. However, I couldn't live without the SPB mobile panel anymore. I've tried the SPB Mobile Shell, but it wasn't what I was looking for (especially the button to close it is retarded). I already found out that you can run the SPB mobile shell program just from it's program folder, even from another panel. There are two more things I need to find out:
-The softkeys on the panel are "Recent" and "Contacts", and they work. When I launch the shell as a program, they are "SPB menu" and "Agenda", and clicking or touching them does absolutely nothing.
-How do I get the SPBs-shell-program to replace the standard today screen? It doesn't have a today plugin.
I'd be really grateful if anyone could answer these questions!
are you using the newer SPB Shell? the 2.xx one? i have this and it's working just fine..oh and i have SPB Pocket plus 4 as well, maybe they're supposed to work together? but with this it's more of an extra feature of pocket plus rather than as a replacement for the today screen like the older SPB Shell. Maybe you could try getting the one from sony's website and see how that works
I am using the one from Sony's website, hence the term "SPB mobile panel".
Dear Friendly On xda, it is possible to visualize SPB Mobile Shell on my Pocket PC at full screen (hiding the top bar on lifescreen and home spb) so as to render it an interface complete on putting it to all screen it is succeeded to find a solution to the push-button you close?
N. B. My first test:
using the program at bot: " hidetopbar" it does not work seen ke to scompare completely and it is not possible to use the closing button application.
IT'S POSSIBILE TO VIEW SPB MOBILE SHELLE 3.01 TO FULL SCREEN without Close-Button on the top bar problem??
SOLUTION????
Thank you
UP! Attend urgent reply!
anyone? i am interested as well
I am curious about this too! seems so simple yet there is no option for it.
UPPP
solution for full screen??
we hope that the developers can answer us
I don't think bumping this up after almost 1 and a half year, will get me any replies, but any devs out there?
I am interested in something like this too!
Vijaytoggle and togglestart - removes the top bar -brilliant!
but it does not make my spb theme go full screen. Instead of top bar, I have black/background but my spb theme does not expand uptil the top of my screen.
Any ideas?
oh and I am using 6.5.5 custom rom, 3.5.5 MS, mtstmp wm7 theme - if that helps..
if anyone is going to try editing qa_layout file - it won't work with mtstmp wm7 theme. I tried it, my screen got messed up and deleting, edit reg, nothing helps. I had to hard reset my phone!
*bump*
anyone?
another interested!!
anyone?
Hi out there...
I received a Jade a week ago and searched around the internet for possible upgrades. There were many of them and one of them was Mobile Shell 3.
There was just one problem for me. How do I get TF2D and MS3 work at the same time. After some trying i found a way how it worked for my Jade.
Step 0 - Install M2DC
For everybody who hasn't done this yet or don't know what it is. Just click the link below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427392
This program helps you to customize your TF2D.
Step 1 - Install MS3
Not much to explain. Just install it.
Step 2 - Make a Soft Reset
Also pretty easy
Step 3 - How to change between the two Shells (TF2D and MS3)
3.1 - From MS3 to TF2D
In the lower right corner there is a small button. Click it and choose Today-Screen. Now TF2D should start and be on screen.
3.2 - From TF2D back to MS3
Here you'll need M2DC. Go to the tab Softkeys. There you've to choose which Softkey (the keys in the lower right and left corner of the homescreen) should be assigned to a specific action. I choose the right key cause I don't really need the cam-shortcut.
Name the softkey how you want. Mine is called MS3. Then you've to assign a command to the key. Click at the three dots and go to the place where Spb Mobile Shell is installed and search for the application "MenuLauncher.exe". Typically it is at "\Program Files\Spb Mobile Shell\MenuLauncher.exe".
Then click Apply and wait. Now you can switch at the Homescreen back to MS3.
I hope I could help you with this guide. If there some questions, please ask. I'll try to help.
Best wishes Floh

See ya!
Ok, I have a few questions that should have easy solutions that I just can't find... probably because what I'm looking for is pretty specific. Hopefully I can get answers to at least a few of them. I will start out by saying that I am currently running the Energy Reference ROM on a Touch Pro 2 (with plenty of RAM I might add). As I find solutions, I will post them below under the "Resolved" section, just in case someone else needs help as well.
Questions:
----- How do you change the color/skin of the stock dialer? The only one that I found searching was the "dusk" dialer... I'm looking for something that I can change the color of some of the buttons (to blue or something)... someone has to have a CAB with a bunch of different colors???
Resolved:
----- First... how do you change the panel backgrounds in SPB Mobile Shell 3.5.5? I'm not looking to add widgets... not looking to change the background of the Today screen (already have done that)... I'm looking to change the background of the panels ONLY. Without changing the layout of anything. Just the panels. I have tried a few programs/skins (Vostradamus, etc.)... and I just can't figure out how to do this simple thing with them. So I'm hoping there's an easier way (registry edit, setting that I'm just not seeing, etc.).
Fix: ----- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4766529&postcount=730 (make SURE to use WinZip, NOT WinRar or anything else)
----- Second, for some reason, I can't see the settings of "Smartlock" in the SPB settings view (as in, if I go through SPB Mobile to get to "Settings", Smartlock isn't there). However, Smartlock is visible when I switch over to the "stock" Start Menu. So is there any way for Smartlock to appear in the SPB Mobile "Settings" tab? It's pretty weird that it isn't there (ALL of the other programs/settings functions show up, but not Smartlock).
Fix: ----- This fixed itself after a clean reinstall of SPB Mobile Shell 3.5.5.
----- Is it possible to keep all the "stock" icons up on top of the screen and add the clock display?
(I currently have the "data" icon, "signal strength" icon, "phone volume" icon, and "battery" icon... with room for the "X"/"OK" icon when a program is running)
I am looking to keep all of those icons while adding the clock display. Don't know if it's possible, but I thought I would ask.
IF it is possible to put the clock up there, would this be compatible with "Brian's Taskbar" to make the icons colorful? I don't have it on there yet, but I'm just wondering for future reference.
Fix: ----- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=612083 (Battclock program... I'm still trying to figure out how to perfect it though). Doesn't appear to be very compatible if you have multiple backgrounds/different screens... but it'll work on at least one of the screens.
----- In the "stock" contacts, there are a few different "filters" (viewed via the menu button). To avoid duplication, I would like to have it always set to "Device Conacts", rather than "All Contacts" ("All Contacts contains SIM and device... which results in duplication). You can change it temporarily but selecting "Device Contacts", but when you re-enter it, it automatically switches back. If anyone knows of a way to permanently/by default choose "Device Contacts", that would be what I'm looking for.
Fix: ----- Registry edit... HKCU/Control Panel/Phone/ShowSim (change from 1 to 0, and they will be gone).
I can help with "third"... look at battclock. It is completely customizable and completely great. Alternatively, there is an option in the settings to display just a clock instead of battery meter in the task bar.
For the "first", try this post from the tips and tricks thread (may need to back out and read some surrounding posts to get a better idea)

Thanks for the suggestions.
I'm looking into the Battclock program, so I will update when I figure that out.
Thanks for showing me that thread for the "first" issue... that led me to the link that I posted in my first post, which is for 3.5.5 (I'm sure they're both the same... but the link I posted makes it pretty easy to understand I think).
Still looking for a solution for the color of the dialer/dialpad. I think I'm just going to have to either delete all of the SIM contacts and same them on my computer (to upload later when I switch phones or whatever).
