Hi
I'm looking for the default app installation folder. I'm trying to edit the swype dictionary with a new language and I need to edit the name of 2 files. I cant find the app installation folder via OI file manager or ASTRO.
Any Ideas?

My favorite for munipulating file. Root explorer
I do also have and like es file manager as wall as file manager these two do LAN and FTP easily. For working with my web sites and so on

I couldn't find the free version of root explorer, but tried File Expert instead. Seems to work fine for my needs.

[Q] Q: Froyobread

Hey guys I have recently updated to froyobread v20 from racht's floyo 0.20. I have root explorer and many other apps on it. After the update root explorer becomes missing. I tried installing root explorer but it keeps FC after that. I do not have access to root explorer
The built-in Root Explorer in Floyo is located in /system/app, and the whole /system folder will be overwritten if you update your ROM.
So you can flash racht´s Floyo again or extract it with unyaffs and take the explorer out of it.
i had the same problem this morning when i installed v20... i think it was because i was trying to install an older version of root explorer so it didnt work. i then downloaded it from the market again and installed that one and it worked hope this helps
I'll attach my question here, because cannot yet post in development section (where normally I would put this): I've found following bug: tethering in v19 and v20 just doesn't work. Also, cannot use USB debuging, so no log attached. What did I wrong?
try using barnacle wifi tether for tethering. what do you mean uwb debugging doesnt work? what happens if you try to turn it on?

[Q] High Access for ASTRO File Manager

I'm trying to insert a hosts file into the etc folder to replace the one currently in it, but it says I do not have permission to go through with the overwrite of the new file over the old one. I use SuperUser and can't seem to figure out how to grant ASTRO File Manager access. Can anyone shed some light on this situation?

Try using a different file explorer, one that is specifically a root file explorer.
I don't believe that ASTRO can access Anything requiring root permissions.

Yes root explorer will be the easiest way unless you know how to do it with adb.

Nook rooted, how to install apps without market?

Hello,
I just rooted my nook successfully with touch nooter.
My question now is:
How do i install apks without market? There isn't a data explorer installed (like es explorer).
Is there a way to install es file explorer for me?
Look up how to use adb to install apps. Get an apk for an explorer app, push it (or use dropbox), and go from there
