My G2 connects to my home wireless network which is wireless n, with no problems. Might you have a MAC filter on your router that needs to be updated with the MAC address of the phone?
I have no issues with using N on my G2, using a Netgear WNR2000v2 as my router.

im a network admin, so the obvious has already been tried. if mac filtering was enabled, that would prevent from getting an ip address, not from seeing the ssid
N connection is great on my D-Link DIR-655.

i dont understand why it wont even detect the network. did you guys have to change a setting on the phone for wifi? my laptop doesnt have any problems, im using it now as we speak.
The wireless N on the phone is only 2.4GHz. It won't connect to a 5GHz network.

i was just coming back to post that. my dual band router has been flashed with ddwrt and the 2.4 frequency is repeating my neighbors 2.4 ghz wifi. so the only open frequency for me to connect to on this router is the 5.4, so i plugged a linksys poe ap into a poe switch and now my phone is connected to an n network thats 2.4 ghz. ya...

I have a D-Link G604T wifi modem. it was fine for my G1 connect to its wifi and connnect to the internet. But then I moved out. That modem can't be used with the new network provider so I had to use the normal modem which the telco gave me.
I wanna have wifi so I connect that normal modem to my D-Link one and use my D-Link to brocast wifi. The the problem happened. 2 of my laptops and a netbook are all able to connect to the wifi and the internet but my G1 and my Touch Pro can connect to the wifi but not the internet. The wifi signal is full.
Any ideas?
Thanks heaps...

What is the security of the AP? WPA2/1 Enterprise? Because that would be your problem...
Sorry, I edit a bit.
2 of my laptops and a netbook are all able to connect to the wifi and the internet but my G1 and my Touch Pro can connect to the wifi but not the internet. The wifi signal is full.
I used WEP for the sercurity. I tried without sercurity and it still doesnt work.

Huh.
What IP address is your G1 resolving and does it correlate to your routers settings?
Can you try to reset your router to factory default settings?

How to check what IP my G1 is resolving?
And I did do a factory reset to my modem but it didnt help
Perhaps, you should "forget" the connection, then establish a new connection.
oh, that was the first thing I did. Thanks anyway!
hello, any other ideas? I called for help... help... help
You might want to look in the modem's wifi settings for a "Short/Long Preamble" setting and set it to "Long" if it isn't already.
I had the same problem with d-link DI-714P+.Changing transmission rate to 1-2-5.5-11(Mbps) helped me.
Hi,
I have a UK Desire Z. The spec says the phone is capable of connecting to b/g/n wifi standards. However I am having trouble seeing my N network on the wireless list. Has anyone sucessfully connected thier phone to an N network?
Are you trying to connect to a 2.4hgz network or a 5ghz one?
It should work on the 2,4 but not on the 5 ghz
I have dual-band router and Desire Z does see/connect to 2.4GHz N network. It does not see 5GHz network. But my 5GHz is running in two channel 40MHz mode, didn't have time to check if switching to single channel would allow Z to connect.
Mine connects fine to my home Wi-Fi network, which is 'N' standard. Not sure what speed it is connecting at, or whether it's dropping back to B/G though.
Do you have MAC address security blocking set on your router, and if so have you told it about the phone's MAC address?

This verifies that answer, changing to single channel on 5GHz will not make a difference.
The wifi radio on the DZ is a 2.4GHz radio.
So I just set my routers wifi mode to 300Mbps @ 2.4Ghz and immediately was not able to connect to my wifi. I dropped the mode down to 145Mbps, same frequency, and right away was able to connect. What gives?

I'm not networking expert but i believe it's the b/g/n radio that you are using. IIRC the faster setting requires the n radio. Does you phone & ROM support n?
If i am wrong someone please correct me.
My router is dual band and i want to say it connects to 5ghz and connects as a n connection. some roms do not have the n drivers. I too could be wrong.

You're probably right. I'm using CM7.1.
Is anybody having any trouble connecting to 802.11n on their GTab?
I'm running a D-Link DIR-655 with G/N enabled only. My girlfriends iMac is connected to it via 802.11n and the GTab is only connecting at 802.11g.
Thanks,
Anthony

just so we are understanding correctly, are you even seeing the signal show up in the available choices of wifi? Or are you seeing it, attempting to connect, and it just doesnt do anything?
Im seeing the same, my Galaxy Tab only connects at 54mbp/s to my Wireless N Access Point. It connects just fine, even when forcing Wireless N, but only connects at 54mbp/s. my Atrix does the same thing.
What's the point of having a wireless N card if its stuck @ 54mbp/s??
I just bought my Galaxy Tab, and when doing the initial setup I was experiencing problems connecting. I reset my modem/router and that solved it, it connected right up after the reset (unplug modem and router for 15 seconds, then plug it back in, then try to connect).
I'm using 802.11n
Try a new router. I had a dlink DIR-650 (i think that is the model) and it worked find for pretty much everything but smartphones. it would connect but not do anything. I decided to can it with my Tab coming and got a linksys router that is doing very well.
I'm getting a good N connection and good speed with my D-Link gaming router.

No issues with the 10.1 connecting to N on my Dir 655. My Dir 655 is on firmware 1.3 and only broadcasting N no G. Im getting 65Mbps
just to confirm, I have two routers in my house since not all devices I own (ps3, 360) connect to a wireless N connection without a newer adaptor. My tab connects to both with ease
Hi all. I recently bought a D-Link DIR-615, which supports 802.11n up to 300Mbps wireless speed. After setting it up, it is running 11n only mode and my laptops can connect to it without any issue. However, when I try to connect my Milestone 2 to it, it can succesfully connect to the router but I cannot access the Internet. I tried to set the router to 11n & 11g mode and it's still not working. Only if I set the router to 11g only mode the phone can connect to the Internet flawlessly.
Doesn't Milestone 2 support 802.11n according to its spec?
PS: I'm running rooted GB Leak on my phone.
It does support n. My Milestone 2 connects perfect with my Netgear Router.
Can I know what type of encryption you use?
Here 802.11n only works without encyption, at least on Froyo.
I live in a condominium of houses, I don't need to worry about people floding my network.
