Is their any way to reject the ota fix from samsung/tmo?
I was already bricked once by this ota, so is their anything I can do to permanently stop these ota's?

As I understand it, yes, you need to be unrooted and stock (I've heard it must be .340 build as well).
When you root, you will not receive updates.
It's up to you, but if you want the stock GB then you will have to be stock, I SBF'd back to .340 build.
Hopefully Friday the 13th will be a lucky day
Good Luck!
Also check this site for video tutorial.

You have time, it's been pushed back to the 26th.
Didn't P3 warn everyone you may permanently lose root if you accept the GB OTA update?
That has been said about other updates, then a couple days later, it's rooted.
It will be unrootable initially...will it stay that way? I kind of doubt it, but anything is possible.
Pushed back? Oh well......after I'm all back to stock and ready to go. Im thinking about just staying stock with temp root only, until the OTA. I just hate all the bloatware!

I have a droid 2 non global. I had all ota updates and now i cant root my phone. I have tried everything, even the droid 3 root and nothing. Anyone else having this issue since the latest update? I am stuck and need this bloatware gone. And i want a good ROM. Please help..

If you installed the most recent update without using Voodoo RootKeeper to back up your root, you're up the creek without a paddle because the newest update breaks root and changes the bootloader so you can't SBF.
Tappin' and talkin' with Tapatalk.
Thanks. That explains it!

Hello guys,
I got my n10 today, rooted using marks toolkit.
Now the notification says "system update downloaded" and press to restart and install...
Is there an update or is my tablet trying to restore the original bootloader, and will updating unroot my phone?
Thanks,
Mark.

The OTA is normal. It has nothing to do with root.
I'm not sure if you'll lose root. I don't remember the order of what I did. If you lose it, just re-root. Or you can download Voodoo OTA Root Keeper, which has worked for me in the past.

Yes, you will lose root but you will remain unlocked... in fact, it is a good idea to unroot before installing OTA updates... being a Nexus device, this can easily be re-rooted....
Thank you guys!
I will do it then... Cheers, Mark

Hi,
An OTA would unroot your phone anyway.
So you would have to re-root after you updated.

You Can Download the Latest Firmware Flash It Using ODIN and Then Root Ur Phone Again.
Thats the Best Way to Do it.
In Case If you just Need OTA then Factory reset Your Phone and You would get the Official Status Back

Hi,
You need to flash a stock ROM ,stock recovery ,then run Triangle Away from the market (if you were returning for warranty)
This will return your counter to 0.
It is all explained HERE
You should then be able to receive OTA
Is there a way on att lg g2?
Once I root my phone, the warranty is void. I read that once you go back to stock unrooted, somewhere it shows that you've been rooted. Still voiding the warranty.
Is there any way to get by this?

I want to root, but also want to make sure I can unroot safely.
But I do have att protection plan so maybe this doesn't even matter.

I worked for AT&T. No one checks for root. Take my advice with a grain of salt but warranty applies to the manufacturer not the mobile company. You should be alright.
sweet. thanks.
by any chance can i get some direction on how to get a custom recovery loaded? Ive tried a bunch of different ways. I got the ota update on att before i rooted.
thanks for the info
